Atroe City Animal Rescue Association, or ACARA, is an association founded and run by Shasta Wild. Their highest is to rescue animals, whether mistreated pets or injured wildlife, and do their best to rehabilitate them. They are well-taught in the behavior of many different animal species, especially the hierarchy and social behavior of wolves and dogs. Another goal is to teach the public about what animals really are and how to treat them properly, whether they be pets or wildlife. The center, located on 120 acres of land, is perfectly equipped for taking care of all kinds of animals, even zoo animals that have escaped or need help in some way. The main building is large and inviting, with a visitor center full of information on animals and even a cafe. Large cages in the visitor center house ACARA's permanent pets - domestic animals such as reptiles, rodents, fish and birds, all of which have been rehabilitated and have become welcome members of the family.
