Sheba, Destiny, Oreo, Loki, and Reina
A large moving type truck pulled up to the association where their cargo would be going. This cargo was not just any cargo though, but a group of dogs that had been bought from breeders all around the country. Once in front of the building the guy in the truck got out and walked inside with a clip board to be signed. Once it was signed he showed the woman who had signed it out to the truck where he opened the back to reveal five large cages each containing a large dog. He opened the first cage which contained the 210 pound Tibetan Mastiff and clipped a leash to her collar then lead her out to the woman to look her over. Sheba's tail wagged her greetings as she waited to be petted.
Shasta Wild; Atka
Shasta was on the scene to pick up the dogs. Adrian had requested that she find more females for the breed. She was reluctant, knowing that he also had a hidden plan for the "Cougar Hound." She knew it would be dog against cat. Yes, it would be Adrian against Sasuke. That coward started shipping in all kinds of mangy cats, and Adrian thought it was to battle the dogs for supremacy.
Better make the dogs strong. That's why they were getting big, mastiff-type dogs: to add size and strength to the breed. Those dirty cats wouldn't stand a chance against these dogs. At least, that's what Adrian said.
Shasta greeted the man with a shy smile, filling out the papers hastily, but making sure she had everything right. "She's beautiful." The woman said softly as she knelt down to pet the dog. "Her name is Sheba? That's a perfect name for this girl. She'll get along great with our pack." She looked over the big dog; a pure image of strength and beauty.
Atka was a pet Shasta rescued long ago. Only, she wasn't a dog like most of them. She was an American Black Bear of the Kermode or "Spirit Bear" variety. The 450 pound beast was all white, blending perfectly with the snow. She was often near Shasta when she was on the property, though Shasta had taught her some manners - don't approach strangers unless given permission, as not every person would be comfortable having a bear greet them.
Shasta looked back at the bear, then faced the man again. "Don't worry about her. That's Atka. She's one of the few rescues who actually rescued me. A big teddy bear, I tell you." After Shasta was pushed off a cliff once, Atka took care of her, watching over the injured human and guarding against her enemies. Many of the local animals displayed unusual behavior, and Atka was one of them.
Sheba, Destiny, Oreo, Loki, and Reina
The man was suprised as the big bear approached them as they exited the building, though when the girl did not seem frightened and the bear did not attack, he figured that she must be some kind of tame bear... You didn't see that often but I guess it happens. Upon reaching the truck he had taken out the largest of the group of dogs that he was delivering first. She was a beautiful black and tan Tibetan Mastiff. As the woman knelt down to pet the dog and spoke, saying that she was beautiful and then going on to say that her name fit her well he nodded.
Then the girl went on to explain the bear and a slight smile crept over his features. This was a strange place indeed. That is more than you can say for the bears back where I'm from... Where he was from bears were to be feared, they would rip you apart as soon as look at you. After speaking he handed over the big dog's leash, though she did not really need it, she was not one to stray. Then he went in to the truck and returned with the second dog.
This one was a blue Cane Corso mastiff. She was not your average color for her breed, most were tan or brindle though you did see those of her color sometimes. This pretty girl is Destiny.
Sheba sat down as the girl knelt down to pet her, she was a very well behaved girl, very well trained. Though, she showed that she was happy to meet the girl by her tail that curled over her back wagging fiercly and also she tried to lick the girl's face. For such a big girl, she was a sweety for sure. Though, she was also very protective.
Destiny wagged her tail in greeting to all of those around her. As she looked to everyone she did not have the slightest fear for even the huge bear standing not far off. She just woofed a couple of times, obviously saying hello as she pulled at her leash to try to reach the new woman.
Shasta Wild
Shasta grinned a bit. This man must be a foreigner. It always takes the foreigners a while to understand the strange behavior of the local animals. The mafia-type packs where quite strange indeed. Atka ranked low on the strangeness meter, but she was still a bit unusual.
"Yeah, this whole city is insane with animals acting weird. I don't know what comes next, but I'm starting to wonder if maybe sometime soon the wolves will take over as the dominant species." She was a bit nervous to think about that. She liked wolves, but not when they wanted to kill her.
Shasta watched carefully when the man brought out the Cane Corso. "Destiny..." She repeated, liking the sound of that. "Hello, Destiny." She said as she walked closer, letting the dog sniff her hand before she petted the big canine.
Sheba, Destiny, Oreo, Loki, and Reina
The words that this girl spoke were confusing to him, he had always known other species to be below humans and he had never had any thoughts that other species might take over any town or such things. Something like that was unheard of by this man, though he didn't say so, he just chuckled a bit. He was from a place where animals where animals and they acted as normal animals should... Oh well, every place had its own perks and its own down falls and this place was no different. After handing over the hyper Cane Corso female he returned to the truck and came back with the third dog. This one was a large Landseer Newfoundland. This female was a calm one, unlike Destiny. She was not as well behaved as Sheba, but she was a calm girl and could learn fast. This is Oreo The canine sniffed the woman in a cautious manner, though her tail wagged slightly.
Shasta; Adrian
The young woman knelt down by Oreo, scratching her ruff. "Hey pretty girl. How's it going?" There was a calm, relaxed smile on Shasta's face, and a true smile was rare for her.
Shasta loved to rescue animals. It was what she always wanted to do. But somehow, she found her center being used by the Volkovs for the breed Adrian and Dimitri like to call the Volkova Sobaka, or Volkov Dog. Everybody else just called it the Cougar Hound. This breed was being made to hunt big cats... and the Volkovs' enemies. Shasta often found herself ensnared in her friends' plans. She didn't completely mind, though. She would rather be out of everything, but if she took no sides, she'd be even more vulnerable. She had to take the side of those who had showed her the most kindness.
Shaking herself from daydreaming, Shasta felt a hand on her shoulder. It was Adrian. "Maybe you should take Atka out of her. She's making Dimitri get that look again." The Russian man suggested quietly. Dimitri had been attacked by Atka once, when tensions were high, and he never did forgive the bear. He often told Shasta that if that bear got too close to him, he'd shoot it in the skull. Shasta knew that he wasn't kidding.
"Oh." Shasta said, looking back at Atka, then at Dimitri, who was giving the white bear a vile look. "I guess it's better to take her somewhere else than try to reason with Dimitri, yeah?" She turned back to the man once more to speak. "Excuse me. I've gotta go save somebody's life...but I'm not sure which one is in the most danger." She chuckled a bit, before leading Atka away.
"Sorry about that." Adrian said patiently, eyeing the dogs carefully. "Some fine stock you've got here. Big, tough dogs. Smart, too. And I see that there are more to come."
Sheba, Destiny, Oreo, Loki, and Reina
As the man introduced the third of the dogs, two other people approached. The one placed a hand on the girl, Shasta's, shoulder and she seemed to be shaken from a day dream or something. Then the girl had excused herself as the man had spoken of taking the bear away. And the girl and the bear were off, leaving just the three men and the three dogs that had been taken from the truck thus far. Destiny was over joyed to see the two new people and she attempted to jump all over them. She was a very friendly girl, but not very well trained in the way of manners.
The man spoke, saying that he was sorry about the disruption and this man just nodded. He really was a man of few words. The other man then spoke saying that the canines that he had unloded so far were good dogs. Again he nodded. Yes, all of them are very intelligent, and yes there are two more in the truck still.
He excused himself momentarily as he got out the last two. The one was a very pretty black and white Alaskan Malamute. This girl is Loki, and the other is Reina. He motioned to each of the canines as he introduced them. The Alaskan Malamute wagged her tail in greeting, though did not approach the two men. The wolf dog just stood back, growling a bit. She was not really the most welcoming of new people. Though she was fine as soon as she warmed up to you. Reina isn't the friendliest at first, but she is all bark and no bite... She will come around.
Adrian; Anya
Adrian loved dogs, but oh how he'd like to go get a beer or something. Dogs were good, but many dogs in one place, all barking, all howling, smelly beasts... He was in charge of this operation, but fortunately, Shasta was in charge of actually taking care of the dogs. Adrian helped out quite a bit, but usually ended up in a bar after a while. "I'm sure she will. I've dealt with worse cases; angry dogs can't stay angry forever with the right care. Probably just scared, is all." As he was speaking, a silver-colored West Siberian Laika showed up at Adrian's heels. "Looks like you'll be taking orders from me now, recruits." Anya said with a smirk. She liked to tease the newcomers, which led Adrian to shove her away. "Anya, idi. Dvigat'sia." He spoke in Russian, which is the language the laika's learned commands were in. Listening to her master, Anya stepped back a bit, keeping a respectful distance, but still eying the dogs suspiciously.
Sheba, Destiny, Oreo, Loki, and Reina
The man had introduced the last of the five dogs to their new owners, so he was ready to head out. He listened to what the man said and he nodded, yes she would come around, after all, she no longer growled at him. So with that he excused himself saying that he better get going before shaking hands with the man and leaving. As the other canine came into view, Reina growled at her as well, I take orders from no one... The rest of them said nothing to the other dog, they were used to taking orders from others, none of them were really the leader type. As the other dog backed up, Destiny pulled at the leash to try to get to the new dog. Do you want to play? Yes, Destiny was a live wire. But she was still very much of a pup, eventually she might grow out of it...
