-Shadow Haunters- (Canyon)
Ember had heard the sharp beat of crow wings before the corvid even offered its threat. She heard the sharp, startled screech of her father next, as he lost a talon-full of feathers from his back. But the young eagle didn't stop to look back at her sire's predicament; her eggs were just a few short hops away now, and Cedarwood was being an excellent distraction for her.
-These must be crow eggs then! Not a raptor, but they'll still be useful. ...they are crow eggs, right?-
Honestly, Ember had no idea. For all the time she spent patrolling and hunting, nests and their eggs had never been a focus of hers. Letting her father handle the irate crow, Ember took her chance to land on the sturdy bough and hop down along its length to reach the quasi-nest at its base. From there, she'd reach a delicate beak in to grab one of the alabaster eggs.
Cedarwood, meanwhile, was preforming a sharp, mid-air pivot as he tried to snap a retaliatory beak at the crow. "Buzz off, I'm not here for you anyway! I'm just grabbing one egg, then I'll be on my way!" As a few brown feathers swirled and fluttered past him in the wake of his furious wing beats, Cedar tried ignoring the crow in favor of landing as close as he could to his chosen nest.
