Daughter of the Reaper (Laissez Medical Facility)

by Cassandra & Others, (15 hours, 4 minutes ago)

"...need to go back home to your father." The feminine voice was soft but stern, and spoken quietly somewhere beyond the eight-foot partition walls that made up the room that Nine would find himself in.

The voice that answered wasn't as decibel conscious as the first. "But what if he wakes up scared?" And if the mecha-fox happened to be waking up, he might recognize these vocals as belonging to a very chatty eleven-year old child. "He's my friend! And Kaisey scared him pretty bad, even though he was hurt. And-" Beyond the narrow walls and their soft, textured foam covering, the child's voice dropped furtively, "-I think they got into a fight."

"Kaison explained it all to us." The first voice answered with patience, "It's nice that you want to check on him, but I think he still needs time to rest." A deliberate, drawn out sigh could be heard from the child as the woman went on, "Head back home now, before Rawnak comes here looking for you again. I don't think we want that to happen, do we?"

Another pained sigh followed, "Alllright. But let me know when he wakes up."

"I'll let you know as soon as I'm able. Thank you, Maru." The sound of thumping bare feet came next, soft and quick paced.

A few moments passed, long enough for the young kit to scamper away. In that time, the other sounds of the massive hospital filled the temporary void. Footsteps traveling this way and that, moving down a myriad of open corridors, along with voices drifting in and out from any given direction, at a variety of distances that made it hard to gauge just how big of a space this branch of the facility was.

Machines thrummed and beeped quietly, including one in Nine's own room. Beside the human-sized bed he'd been laid out on, a tall machine with a large monitor display was quietly humming as it kept track of the fox's vitals. A pulse oximeter was clamped to one ungloved finger, attached by a long beige chord that fed back to the monitor. On a short, rolling cabinet next to that were Nine's shoes and both white gloves. The rest of the anthro's clothes had remained untouched on him, along with the listless tails that had been carefully laid out alongside his organic ones, as the nurses had tried to settle him as comfortably as they could. Finger clamp and removed gloves and shoes aside, the only other thing Nine might note was a small patch on his lower arm where the fur had been shaved away; a bandage partially covered this space, which in turned covered the smallest of needle punctures.

"So... what do we do?" A male voice was speaking now. "It's Tails, right?"

"We shouldn't jump to conclusions." The woman cautioned before offering elaboration, "Kaison and Maru both heard Nine, so probably, but we'll let him explain it."

"Yeah, but if it is, that means there's a Soni-"

"Ben." The single word carried enough emotion to stop the man, yet sounded just as patient as it had with the child, "Even if the other one is Sonic, or Knuckles, or someone we don't know, you have to stay here. You're still on probation." Her tones dropped a little, sounding vaguely frustrated, "And none of us can go there; we have to leave this to Lucas."

(this can either be 30 minutes later, or a few hours if you want Nine to be more rested XD )
