The Stars are Strange (Roellen Central Avenue)
She stared at that moon for a long time, long after her neck began to ache. Even the stars, she had noticed, were unfamiliar to her. The constellations were different from any realm she had ever been in.
She heard him before she saw him, growing closer, and still she did not take her eyes from the moon. Not until he spoke. Her head tilted in his direction, he stood in view of her good eye, sparing her the need to turn her head fully.
She stared at him the same way she stared at the unfamiliar moon. Humans did not have pointed ears nor bright silver eyes.
“What manner of hellish creature are you?”
