Goleuo

Rest.

That was the only thing on the young dragon's mind as he glided over the vast, flower-strewn plains. His wing beats were slow and uneven, and his flight path was far from straight, but he did not let himself land yet. He had to make sure he was far enough from the strange two-legged things that they would not know of his presence.

He had arrived on the continent just a few hours earlier, exhausted from the seemingly endless journey across the ocean. But when he reached the shore, he found dozens of little creatures wandering around on two legs beside bizarre, ramshackle structures. Spooked, he had flown on despite his wish for rest. He didn't know what the creatures were, but he would find out only on his own terms, not theirs.

Eventually, when the male had traversed at least several miles of the vast plains, he decided he was safe enough and quickly dropped to the ground. He landed a little awkwardly, but didn't particularly care. What mattered was his feet were on solid ground at last, and he could finally rest. Wearily Goleuo folded his wings and peered around. The land was strange to him, and yet, it felt oddly familiar. Like home, almost.

The purple-hued male poked around the tall grasses for a few minutes until he discovered the source of the familiar feeling: crystals. Crystals of the kind his brood could grow were sprouting from the ground here and there, and that meant that one of his brood must have claimed the vast plains. Curious, Goleuo released a long, low roar to announce his presence. He listened for a reply, wondering who could have laid claim to the region.

Matriach Treyvonna

The 750 year old 87 foot long Matriach had returned home a few hours prior to Goleuo's arrival. She was currently in a cave that she had found that was actually part of a small hill on the plains. She was sleeping till she heard a call of a dragon. Her head raised and she yawned. He was not in site so she released her own roar. She hoped that it would be a fellow purple one of her subjects or rather to her her family.

She moved out of her cave and stretched her long and tall body. Her large wingspan spread out then and she pushed herself into the sky. The clouds were slowly gathering and she could tell that tonight it would rain. After about five minutes of travel she spotted the dragon and she quiet happy to see that it was indeed another purple.

She circled a few times before diving down and landing. She shook out her body and tucked her wings in as she now approached him. Greeting's, I am so glad to see another Purple finally. I am Matriach Treyvonna She spoke. She didn't expect those under her to bow or anything. All she expected was to recieve respect in whence she return. Did you just arrive? are you alone? She spoke quiet eager to know more about him. He didn't look familiar to her not one she had previously met back on their home land.

Goleuo

For a few moments, only silence greeted Goleuo's ears. But soon enough a faint reply echoed across the land from his left. The male turned and looked, but whoever had answered him was not in sight. He considered taking flight and seeking out the disembodied voice, but decided he was too tired to bother. Instead he sat down heavily and waited to see if the other dragon would come to him.

A few minutes passed, and then he caught sight of a purple form bobbing on the horizon. The male smiled faintly, glad that the stranger was one of his brood and not of another, possibly hostile clan. The dragoness circled above him a few times, then landed with the grace of a leader. Her words affirmed his assumption, and he tilted his head in acknowledgement.

"Matriarch," he answered softly. "I am Goleuo. I met land a few hours past. I am alone."

His tone was respectful, but he did seem slightly distant with his reply. The smaller male studied the femme for a moment, but decided he had not met her before. No big surprise. Nobody he knew had escaped the Plague.

"Are you alone, Matriarch?" he asked, curious if any other dragons had made it to this strange land. He gathered from her prior statement that they were the only purples so far. Even he had to admit, that was a disquieting notion.

Matriach Treyvonna

Treyvonna was quiet eager to make this dragon feel at home. She would permitt him to grab a piece of land near hers so they could converse and not have to travel long distances. The plains were practically endless so there was plenty room for more dragon's to call it home. When he said he was alone she sighed and stared up at the sky. Ah well hopefully more are comingShe spoke and then nodded her head.I am alone. I had let out a call before leaving for the rest of our brood in hopes they would cross the seaShe spoke calmly.

Goleuo

Goleuo's eyes fell to the ground when the Matriarch replied that she too was alone. Even though he was a loner, Goleuo was sad that he and Treyvonna were the only dragons left, as far as he knew. The great Plague truly had ravaged their race.

"None will come from my hollow," he muttered darkly, referring to the place he used to call home, before the Plague struck. "All perished but myself."

He looked away, in the direction of the vast ocean, wondering how many from the other broods had survived. "Have others made the journey? Are the other broods here as well?" he asked, turning back to Treyvonna.

Thunder rumbled in the distance, warning of an approaching storm, but Goleuo wanted to know about the new land before he sought shelter. Rain would not hurt him, but the other broods, or maybe even those two-legged things on the beach might.

"Those things, on the beach," he said suddenly, "That walk on two legs and make such strange objects, what are they? Are they edible?"
