A shadow traveled across the vast land of Eltica. The creature creating the shadow was something between lizard and bird...It was a dragon. A female. Its sky blue scales reflected the suns light like diamond and its light blue tranparent wing span let some of the light through, which turned the ground below it a tint of blue. Each leg had a 'sock' pattern on it of the same light blue on it. The belly and neck were white as was the spikes running from the top of her head to the tip of her tail. She had fur on her ankles, elbows, wrists, hauches and the tip of her tail for flight sability. The fur was white like her underbelly. She had a black collar like necklace, with 7 sapphire gems on it and a long string necklace with a green gem on it. On her right wrist, green metal bands and on her left, a small sapphire gem tied around her leg on a string. Her eyes were sapphire.

This dragon's name is Taru. Strange name but she didn't care. She soon saw a cliff ahead and flew towards it, stopping in mid air after she passed the edge. Though it wasn't a far drop. Right below what she thought was a cliff was a pool of water and she smiled. The dragon needed to wash plus she always loved water. She flew down gentle and landed in the water, swimming a bit since it was deep where she landed. It was warm and it felt good on her scales. She had been flying for a long time until she finally made it to Eltica and she was happy she was finally here. The dragon found the bottom and soon laid down on it, half submerge in the warm water, enjoying the feel of it.

Contrun's fiery-colored eyes, set against the ruddy-red, scaled face of the young dragon, scoured the land below as he soared along. The wind whistled and whipped against his leathery wings, while spiraling thermals helped to keep his forty-seven foot frame aloft without having to expend so much energy flapping the great appendages. And Contrun needed all the help he could get, considering how densely muscled his body was, with thick scales that covered his being like thousands of little red plates of armor, adding to his hefty weight.

It had been many weeks since the dragon had gone near the coastline and encountered humans, but memories of the intriguing animals simply couldn't be put out of his mind. Besides, maybe he could find out more about the creatures, to give Patriarch Gabriel a better understanding of them? That was going to be his excuse anyway, as his intentions were to find another human or two to study... or those were his intentions until he spied the Blue bathing in the pool below him.

It had been so long since Contrun had spoken with another dragon that he simply couldn't pass up the opportunity to socialize, even if it wasn't a member of his own brood. Contrun swooped down over the cliffs, flapping his large wings heavily to slow his descent, so that his landing at the edge of the water was a gentle one. Dark brown claws dug into the soft earth, and his serpentine tongue flicked out like a snake's to better acquire Taru's scent. "Greets, Blue." Contrun was not a shy individual, to say the least.

Taru scented another dragon but she didn't open her eyes yet. Her serpentine tongue flicked out of her mouth, tasting the air with the male's scent. When he came closer to her and spoke to her was when she opened her sapphire orbs. She looked up at the red brood in front of her and yawned a bit, the warm water making her a bit tired after her long flight here. She shuffled her translucent into a more comfortable position and nodded to the dragon.

Hello, Red. she said to him, using his Brood's name since he used her's. I'm Taru, just so you know. And what is your name? she asked as she laid her sub on her partly submerged front paws and looked up at him with a smile tugging at her lips.

The heat from the water was very attractive to Contrun, who always felt better basking in the sun's warm rays or laying his belly against the heat-soaked sands of the Sangal Desert. It wasn't often that he found water to be warm enough for his liking, though he refrained from stepping into the large pool in fear of invading Taru's personal space, even if there was plenty of room for both of them. This was his first encounter with anyone of another Brood since coming here, and he didn't want to mar the event.

"Contrun." The Red returned his name politely along with a smile that revealed his many, sharply pointed teeth. To a human, the expression might look like the beginning of a snarl or something otherwise aggressive, but his kindly eyes said otherwise. "I've scented several new Blues on the wind recently. Have you come here by yourself, or did you travel with others?"

Taru looked up at him, lifting her heavy head off her front paws. She stretched, yawning loudly, her sharp teeth showing. After that, the dragoness stood up, yawning once again, though she tried not to. The warm water plus her trip made her really tired. Her 12 foot long tail swaying back and forth behind her. She shook her head. No. I came alone. I didn't know there were other Blues here. Are there other Broods as well? Are you the only Red? she asked.

The dragoness put her clawed paw on the higher bank and pulled her self out of the warm water. When she was next to the male, she noticed he was much bigger then her, in length and height. She shrugged it off though, trying to ignore her smallness compared him.

Contrun eased back on his haunches, resting his crimson and ruddy red hide on the rocky ground that encircled the thermal pool. Even the ground here felt warmer, much to the Red's joy. "I arrived here several month ago, and I've seen a few others here and there, not many." The dragon looked downward at the water, watching the ripples spread across the surface when Taru climbed up and pulled herself onto dry land. It made his heart heavy to think that so few dragons had found sanctuary on Eltica so far, when there use to be so many on their old homelands. Had that many really perished...? Contrun closed his eyes briefly and mentally shook those negative thoughts from his head. "I haven't met her yet, but I know that your Matriarch is here - she lives far out in the highlands. I can take you to her, if you'd like." Contrun looked over at Taru with a hopeful expression, while silently noting the size difference between them as well. She was younger, that much he knew. "I'm not sure if there are other Reds here or not. Our old Patriarch was here months ago, but his scent has gone cold."

Taru smiled, shaking her head to wake herself up. Her tail swayed back and forth slowly. That would be great. I haven't seen any Blues for a long time. I have been traveling for a long time and I'm happy to finally be here. She ran past him, jumping like a rabbit and stopped looking back at him. She opened her 50 foot wingspan and looked at him. Coming? She had a challenging look in her sapphire eyes. She hadn't flown with another dragon for a long time and she was definately excited to fly with one. She was even more excited if they raced and challenged each other in arcobats.

The tiredness he'd seen in her at first approach had quickly been shaken off. Contrun grinned a little at the Blue's enthusiasm and energy, and felt a stirring in his own spirit to watch her jump around like a youthful hatchling. "Is that a challenge?" His grin broadened until most of his pointed teeth were revealed, looking stunningly white when pitted against the dark brown-red of his scaly jaws. Contrun launched into the air with a spring from his powerful hindlegs, but his frame was heavier than Taru's, and it took a great deal of strength and a flurry of flapping to gain altitude at any speed. Once he had climbed high enough into the air, surpassing the surrounding trees and the cliffs, the Red began to gain speed, "Due west, towards those distant mountains!" Contrun raised his voice to a throaty shout, giving Taru the general direction of where they were headed.
