The first few months in this new land had been both fascinating and... well, a little dull. The highlight of it all had been getting close and personal with a strange little creature called a human, and the wonderful music-making instrument that he'd played. The Red dragon had reluctantly kept his distance after that, out of respect for Gabriel's wishes. At least... until now.
To avoid other dragons and humans alike from seeing him, Contrun had landed some distance from Elt's Gape and traveled on foot towards the massive watering hole. Of course, he was still a giant, 47-foot long, dark-red creature lumbering along the ground, but at least he wouldn't be as obvious to see as he would if he were flying through the air. He tried his best to move quietly, monitoring where he placed each step, and keeping his large wings folded as tightly as he could against his back to keep them from snapping off tree branches that he passed by. 'Their scent is stronger here.' Step by cautious step, the dragon worked his way towards the water, until he was a few yards away, and crouched down in a stand of trees that didn't exactly hide his contrasting red scales very well. His curious, fiery eyes began to scan the rocky shores of the Gape, while his nose took in all the scents that the breeze brought him, hoping to locate a human.
