Vervada

My translucent wings beat rhythmically as I soar above the land I now call my home. I have been here so short a time and am glad to be out exploring. I want to uncover the wonders this land, Eltica, has to offer to me. The wind rushing over my face and tickling my scales feels so amazing, so free. I happen to tilt my head and glance down. A wonder stretches out below me, sparkling and clear. The water expanding out below me glitters and gleams like dragon's scales, like the scales on my hide. I make slight adjustments, angling my bodice downward. Now I'm soaring just above the water. I reach one front foot down and let my lids slip closed as the cool liquid flows over my claws. A noise rumbles in my chest, a sort of purr. On a whim I decide to take a quick dip. I flap my wings hard, sending myself upward fast. When I'm at a good height, I corkscrew down and plung into the cool aqua. Again that purr comes, sounding different and humorous under the waves. I break the surface only once my large lungs scream for air. The fish in the depths all swim frantically away from me. The H2O feels a touch chilly and I give it a nice dousing of fire. The steam tickles my tie-die windows. It feels amazing to be swimming again after the long flight from my homeland. My wings appreciate the rest as well. Speaking of my pale wings, I extend them out, letting the water cool and sooth them. A huge sigh rushes from my body. It just feels so good! With nothing better to do, I find a good depth sandbar and lay down, resting my wary frame.

Lilas

The dragoness flew through the amazing blue sky, high above the land of the country she was now flying over. Eltica. The country that shall be her new home. After the horrible plague at Usearous, she was happy to finally find another country where she could put up residence, but also sad that most of her kind had perished during the plague. Shaking her head to wake up, since her flight from Usearous was long and tiring, though she had flown through as many lightning storms as she could so her element could fuel her with energy. Glancing downwards, she saw the sparkle of a silver line cutting through the land. Immediatly, she knew what it was and she roared in happiness. A river!!!! Snapping her translucent purple wings, she dipped down into a dive. The wind rushed past her as she descended at an incredible speed. About 200 feet from the ground, she opened her wings and turned up. She skimmed the ground and became parallel with it, flapping to be a bit higher above the terrain. Slowing down as she got near the river Delta, she turned and followed the river, her claws grazing the cool liquid. Dipping a bit, she immediatly slipped into the water and hummed deep in her throat. Ah, it was nice after flying so long. Bringing her head above the water, her yellow luminaries, which seemed to glow in contrast to her purple body, locked onto a blue lump on one of the bank of a sandbar. She crawled out of the water and looked to the lump, examining it. She soon figured out what it was. A dragon. Another dragon! She sat there watching the Blue, wondering if it was sleeping, and, if it was, she didn't want to wake it up.

Everybody's waiting for you to break down,
Everybody's watching to see the fall out,
Even when you're sleeping, sleeping,
Keep your ey-eyes open.

I couldn't sleep and truthfully, I didn't want to. I was content to stay where I was, partially submerged underwater on a sandbar, but I had no wish to sleep. Who knew how close or how violent the humans were? I for one wouldn't take any chances. My snout filled with scents but all of them belonged to nature, not the humans. That put me at ease. Just as I heard the soft slosh of something disturbing the water and felt the ripples, a new scent filled my nares. It wasn't really new new per say, just new in comparison to what I had been smelling for as long as I had been lounging. The smell was of dragon, female I think. I heard as the visitor slid from the water. I lifted my great aquamarine head from the cool liquid and arched it around to the dragon. It was a Purple and she had stunning yellow orbs. My own, a mix of the aquamarine and sapphire that dyed my bodice, looked her over slowly. She was definitely friendly, I could tell by her posture and her body language. After a moment of silence between us, my great maw opened, revealing sharp, white daggers.
Hello, Purple. My name is Vervada. What might yours be?
My voice sounded like bells chiming, even to me, and there was a smile on my kissers. I got up and turned to face the female, shaking my wings out slightly in the process. I settled back down again, sitting and wrapping my tail around myself. My wings were left loosely closed so they could dry with ease. I looked at the she-dragon before me as I awaited her reply.

Lilas

Lilas watched as the Blue stirred and looked towards her. As she examined her, Lilas examined the Blue in turn with her stunning yellow eyes. Only when the other spoke, after the silence between them, did she stop examining her and looked her in the eyes. She introduced herself as Vervada and then asked the dragoness her own name. Sitting down on the bank of the river, she curled her tail around her front clawed paws. Her lyrics pierced the still air after that, smooth and flowing. "I am called by the name of Lilas. It is very nice to meet you Vervada. Such a pretty name you have." Standing up again, she opened her wings and jumped into the air, flapping once to get over the river and alighted on the Purple’s sandbar. "How long have you been on Eltica Vervada?"

The company That had come to me in the dragoness was very welcome. I waited patiently as the silence stretched on for another minute. Then she spoke her name and complimented mine. She was very kind and I flashed her my ivories.
Well thank you, Lilas. Yours is quite beautiful as well. And the pleasure is all mine. My words were completely true. I was happy when Lilas decided to come over to my sandbar. I shifted so I was facing where she was planning on landing. My wings ruffled as I used them to move back a little, giving her space. She spoke again and I only took a moment to calculate.
Only about a day or so. And yourself?
My tone was polite but I was truly curious. Maybe, if she had been here longer, she would know where some other places of pure beauty lie. Unable to help myself, I studied the Purple's face. She had stunning yellow eyes that stood out boldly against her mauve bodice. All in all, she was a very pretty ess. And of course, she had an equally pleasant personality it seemed.

Lilas

Lilas couldn't help but smile as the dragoness complimented her name just as she complimented hers. When she had alighted on the sandbar, Vervada had answered her question. Folding her wings close to her side, she answered back, her lyrics flowing off her tongue like water over rocks. "I have only just gotten here. Not even a day have I been here. The flight that brought me to this magnificent land was tiring so I was hoping I could alight on the water of this stream and rest his head a bit. How about you? What are you planning on doing?"

The dragoness laid down on the sand, stretched his claws away from her bodice and digging into the sand under her. She then laid her head on the small particles and watched Vervada with her yellow luminaries. She was kind and she thought they could be good friends.
