After an entire day and night in the small, mist-filled pen, the same lady returns to check on Night. She opens the door and reaches in to pet his head and talk soft words to him. Again, she tested to see how lively he would react. This time, she brought a small peice of meat flavored with gravy and held it out infront of the pup. She wanted again to see if he had an appetite.

Night

He coughed when he awoke by the ladys touch. He whimpered and then sniffed the meat. He licked the gravy off the meat and took a small bite but didnt have much of an appitite so he ate no more. He stood but quickly sat.

The lady frowned with consern. Certainly, this pup has some illness; whether it's a minor cold or pheumonia. Knowing it would do Night no good to just lie in the little pen without eatting anything, the lady decided to do something. Perhaps, she thought, she could perk up his spirit by taking him on a short drive and a walk through the town. Gentally, the human picked Night up and fastened a light collar around his neck. Then she took him outside and into a car. From there, she drove to Down Town.
