They didn't come with their original trackee, but the gentlemen came with a different subject of interest. Prior to arriving, one of the men had called ahead to EARTH about their newest addition. A stray pup with no mother out near Ashen Domes. Upon arriving, the truck pulls around to the back lot and comes to a stop near the back ramps.

The men step out of their vehicle, along with their tracking dog. They wait for a moment for one of the employees to come fetch the newest addition for EARTH. One of the men rounds the back of the truck, opening the hatch so that the cage in which Raven was held was accessible. He leans over the back of the truck, trying to make himself smaller for the frightened pup. "Hey, little guy," the man coos softly, unaware of the gender of the newly-captive pup, "We brought you to your new home. They're gonna take care of you."

Raven

Raven was in the back of the cage pressing herself close as she could to the back. She growled when the man opened it and bared her little puppy teeth.

Kate Wallock

Kate was striding out the door shortly after the others arrived, having been anxiously awaiting the new delivery. A brief smile and a 'Hey there.' was offered to the hound, along with a brisk pat on the head as she strode around to the back of the truck. She was already fitting an elbow-length leather glove onto one hand, having enough experience with wildlife to know the importance of protecting oneself from fangs and claws.

"What condition is he in?" Also unaware of the gender, Kate's first concern was how the youngster was doing, giving the extreme turn of weather today and how swiftly the ice storm had moved in. Not wanting to crowd Raven or the man though, she hung back a little and observed for the moment. Straight away, the growling and fiestiness was a promising sign; this pup had some fight in her, and she was definitely a wild one, and not a pup that some careless person had dumped.

The group of gentlemen all greet Kate warmly as she approaches. Most of them knew her in passing with working alongside the conservation group over the years. The man closest to Raven gently wraps his hands around the frightened pup, gritting his teeth a bit as the pup digs its teeth into his wrist. He shifts Raven a bit to retract her teeth from him, offering Kate a lopsided smile. They've all been bitten and peed on enough over the years not to completely mind it. "He..." The man begins, holding Raven a bit differently so that her belly shows. He laughs softly, realizing the little pup is definitely not a he but a she. "Or...she ...was alone out near Ashen Domes. We didn't find traces of any other wolves out there." Except Wolf A43, but given that the brute was a loner for as long as the group had traced him, the off chance of Raven being his family was low. Raven, in their best guesses, was horrendously lost or abandoned. And given the twist in weather and the treachery of the Valley, leaving her out there was inhumane. The man extends his arms, offering Raven to Kate.

Raven

Raven bites as hard as her little pup mouth could as she is pulled out and soon mouth wasn't able to hold on to it. Her nose was runny but she still growled at them blinking her eyes a few times at the brightness.

Kate Wallock

Kate winces for the man, seeing those needle-like teeth dig into his wrist. She'd experienced the same plenty of times before though, and was doubly thankful that she'd remembered to grab the leather glove. "Ahh, we have a little girl. And a feisty girl you are, aren't you?" Kate reached forward to grab Raven by the back of the scruff, while tucking her gloved hand beneath the youngster for support. "All by yourself, out in that dangerous place? There aren't any active dens out there that we've seen." Her words were soft and gentle as she spoke to the pup, whilst giving her a good one-over visually.

Her attention turned back to the man as she tucked Raven further under one arm, still holding her scruff tightly to hopefully prevent any further bites. "Cold as she is, I don't think she would have survive this storm on her own. We'll get her in and warmed up, and go from there. She might be a good candidate for the ambassador pack." She smiled down at the pup who did not seem to return the same sentiment. "How's that sound?" As she turned to head back inside, Kate glanced back once more, "Lets keep an eye around the Domes, maybe one more check just to be sure there's no pack or mother wandering around there."

*Humans*

Watching Kate handle the little pup, he gives a soft smile and a nod to her words. "We're still trying to bring in A43 before the end of the year. I'm sure the boss man will send us out that way, we'll keep a keen eye out for any family of this little lady," he replies, turning to shut the back end of the truck. He whistles to his coworkers, signaling them it was time to depart. With the storm rolling in, all the men wanted to be back in their own homes before the snow started to pile up on the roads. "Stay warm, Miss Kate," the man bids farewell, heading for the drivers' seat.

Raven

The little wolf snarled at them trying to get free. That was until Kates hand had her scruff and then she went limp. She sneezed. She did still growl.

Kate Wallock

The end of Kate's nose was beginning to blush pink, along with her cheeks as the harsh wind blustered across the exposed skin. She didn't complain though, well use to working out in the extremes. Instead she drew the frightened and angry puppy closer to her and spared one hand for a quick wave, "You guys stay safe out there, and don't dally too long if this weather keeps picking up." A smile and a nod finished her parting words, and soon the woman was turning back for the facility and hurrying in through the basement walk-in.

Kate grabbed a towel from a cabinet and laid this out across a counter next to a sink. Placing Raven on it, while still keeping a hold of her scruff, she started to give the pup a thorough look over to check for any obvious injuries. "You're condition looks good at least, you've got some solid meat on those bones." Her words came as a murmur, soft and gentle so as not to further frightened Raven. "You must have been with your mom not long ago. Did something happen to her? Oh, poor thing... you've got a runny nose for sure."

Raven

She wanted her mother or her siblings or anyone. Due to being scruffed she didn't fight however as the lady poked and prodded her. She did growl.

Kate Wallock

Knowledgeable hands worked over the pup, and confirmed that Raven was at least well taken care of prior to being separated from her mother. No obvious wounds or trauma, good fat and muscle content, and a belly that had seen a meal in the past twenty-four hours. She was a little hypothermic, and Kate thought she'd heard some congestion starting up in the pup's lunges, but overall she was happy with the youngster's prognosis.

"We'll get you wormed and started on an antibiotic, just to be safe." Kate smiled down at the pup, unphased by the growling that Raven returned. "This part isn't as fun, but you'll feel much better for it later." She assured, though her words probably didn't do much to comfort Raven when Kate gave the pup a quick series of three shots. After that she gently placed the young wolf in a crate with a blanket, and topped it with a heat lamp to help warm Raven up.

Raven

Raven continued to growl till she was poked and she yelped at it and whined. However, when placed in the crate and the heat lamp placed on top she curled up in the blanket.

Kate Wallock

Kate returned a short while later with a bowl of water and a dish of wet puppy food. "You rest up little one." She cooed, crouching down in front of the cage as she again observed the pup to see how she was fairing. "We'll see if the fellow find your parents. And if not, you'll have a home here with us." She smiled at the youngster, even though she knew Raven was not happy with her right now. After a moment, she stood and walked away to take care of other buisness, and give the pup time to rest and recover.

Raven

Raven lapped at the water and sniffed the food and gagged at it. That was not raw meat what was this lady playing at. Given she had just begun to eat meat. She still nursed.
