*Dog & Humans*

Arya and Dakota were brought in, each one being placed on a separate table where a group of humans took a few tests of their blood, measurements, and what not. They were given a series of vaccines before being placed in holding pens next to each other. A bowl of kibble and one of water was placed in each cage.

The dog padded around the while, curious about what the humans were doing, but more interested in getting a reward. However, they humans didn't pay much heed to the hound.

The bloodwork from both wolves was sent to a lab to be tested. Once the results came back, Arya and Dakota could be released into the pen. But for now, the humans waited for the two to wake up so they could observe their behavior and general fitness.

Arya and Dakota

Arya was the first one to wake. She opened her eyes and woof-ed softly. She yawned and stretched, then lay down. She narrowed her eyes at the dog. She siffed, used to the smells. However, she jumped at the humans and shrunk back to her cage. She remained silent.
Dakota woke soon after Arya. She yawned without noise. Surely the humans would see that. She opened her mouth a few times to bark at them, but she was still silent. She shrank back in her cage too, remembering the awful days at the lab...

*Humans*

A younger assistant furrowed her eyes at Dakota in a confused, quizical sort of way. "What's up with that one?"

The man next to her, Ian, shook his head slightly, "She was de-barked, at the Nefaryous Labs. It'll be a great change for her here, though I'm not sure how pack life will go. That'll be something interesting." He knelt down now, making slow movements as he watched the wolves. He knew it was important to gain their trust, or at least obtain a 'neutral' state with the wolves.

"Can she ever get her voice back?" The lady asked, leaning her face closer to the cage and peering towards Dakota.

Ian shrugged, "Right now, there's nothing we can do. They're always experimenting with new proceedures at the Lab, but I doubt it'd be worth it to put her through anything. She seems to be getting along well enough with this one, anyway." And now he nodded to Arya, where the lady's focus shifted to as well.

The dog stood slightly behind the humans, grinning proudly at the wolves, "Look who got caught by the 'stupid' humans and their little pet."

Arya and Dakota

Arya didn't move but she snarled at the dog.
Shut up! I would kill you right now. She said as she appeared from the back of her cage. She was looking directly at the dog. She sat down, still shaking with fear. She looked at Dakota and whimpered to her, even though she couldn't see her, she could smell her.

Dakota placed her nose on the side the Arya was leaning on, so it looked like the two were comforting eachother. Dakota was scared, but with Arya she was a little better.
