Vatoni

The gray wolfess swayed as she moved slowly, her had screaming with a headache. She had slipped on a cliff and fell; tumbling down to the bottom she had been unconscious for a while. Now she couldn't see very well and felt like she was going to pass out. Her side was bleeding from her fall and she stumbled. But the one thing she could think of was her mate, Keilo, she wished he was with her she new he would help her. Letting out a howl for him she dropped to the ground near the Vet Building, falling unconscious again.

*Humans*

The howl aroused the interest of a human inside the vet building. He hurried out and spotted the injured lupine. After retreating a moment inside, he was out again and with a small stretcher. Seeing that Vatoni was clearly unconscious, the human rolled her apon the stretcher and dragged her inside.

The vet was eager to have a wolfess at the Center, because many had escaped recently and the pack was down to one wolf. He began to clean her side and stitch where ever necessary. Then he carried her to a pen on the outside of the Vet Building and placed a bowl of food and water in the cage. He would come back later to see how she was doing, and if she needed any more treatment.

Keilo

The beta came as soon as he could, fearing the worst had happened. He was already very upset that Vatoni had dissapeared, but her howl at least assured him she was still alive.

Keilo came too late to save her from being put into the pen. Fear and anger charged through him when he found her lying in the cage. Without care about the humans, Keilo rushed upon the cage and set his massive jaws to bite and twisting at the metal. "Vatoni!" he barked, "Vatoni, are you alright? I'll get you out..."

Vatoni

Vatoni blinked open her eyes and sighed, her head was hurting terribly. Once she was able to focuse she looked at her mate and smie softly, "Keilo...you came" she whispered. "I'm sorry for leaving, I fell on some rocks and hit my head.." she said..

Keilo

He looked at her with deep concern, very much frustrated that the metal fencing was separating them and preventing Vatoni from being free. "No, don't be sorry." he replied softly, trying to conceal his fear for her well being, "We just need to get you out of here." Keilo tried to give a faint smile, hoping to cheer her up. Still, he bit at the bars with all his strength and seeked out desperately for any weaknesses in the cage.

Vatoni

She smiled softly at him, he was trying to cheer her up. But it failed, she had little hope that she could get out, but she still tried. Standing slowly she dug at the cage door with her front paws, but it still stayed closed. Looking at her mate with saddened eyes small tears began to fill them. "I don't think I'm going to be able to get out" she said with a choked up voice. She wanted so desperately to get out, she couldn't bare to be apart from him.

Keilo

Keilo's ears went back and he couldn't help but show remorse when he saw his mate shed tears, "Don't speak like that, you will be free." Still he struggled to sound confidnent in his statement, but in reality, he saw no way of getting her out. Keilo would only break out all of his teeth before even denting one of the metal bars. "I won't leave you." he vowed in earnest. Sitting back on his haunches, Keilo set loose a mournful and bitter howl. He had watched his friend Cedar die in a trap, and he wasn't going to let that happen to his mat

*Humans*

The muffled sound of foot steps could be heard through the walls of the Vet Building; it sounded like a human was walking towards the door that lead to Vatoni's cage...

Vatoni

Vatoni howled with her mate and looked up to the top of the cage. The top of it would open and close as well as the door in the front. And while Keilo had been trying to bite the door open it had jard the top open a bit. "Keilo! Look!" She said, her voice hopefull. Standing up on her back legs she fell down, her leg was hurt as well and she couldn't stand on it.

Keilo

He looked up, spotting the potential freedom for his mate. He reared up against the cage nosed at the top until it lifted up some. He couldn't stretch far enough to open the door very wide, but he hoped it was enough for Vatoni to squeeze through.

"I hear them coming! Can you get through here?" he questioned while turning his eyes frantically to the door.

Vatoni

Vatoni tried standing up on her hind legs again but failed. Trying once more she leaped with all her might, sqeezing threw the opening. She landed outside of the cage and favored her leg, smiling at Keilo, "lets hurry! Their coming!" She said.

Keilo

He nuzzled her briefly, but knew there was no time to stand around near the humans' place. He headed swiftly for the safety of the nearby brush where they could hide for a few moments at least while he explained something to his mate.

"Most of our pack is at the Ruins fighting. I don't want you to get hurt any worse..." he looked at her leg with much concern. He knew he had to help his alphas with the battle, but his mate was far more important to him and he didn't want her injured any more. He glanced at the door, knowing the human would find them soon if they didn't leave, "Shall we go back to the pack lands?"

Vatoni

Vatoni nodded and fallowed him with a limp, her head aching still. She wanted to go with him and help fight but new she would be little help. Standing int he brush with him she nodded again, "let's go before they come" seing him look at her leg she smiled, "I'm fine Keilo".

Keilo

He sighed but gave a reasuring smile, "Alright, lets head back to the pack lands." He nuzzled her once before heading for the Central Lands. Keilo was cautious to keep a slow pace so Vatoni could keep up. He also watched for any humans.
