Kana
It was dark outside and the wolfess was hidden in the dark. She walked quietly over to the fence and waited for her mate, Dark Star to come. She couldn't risk howling for him because a human might here her.
Dark Star
He quietly crept over to the fence, and looked to his mate Kana. "Glad you came." He said quietly. "Did you watch the vets go in?" He asked. He wanted to make sure there was no risk for Kana.
Kana
Kana nodded, "yes, there gone, now, how are we going to get you out?" She whispered.
Dark Star
"I am not sure. I don't know when they will let me out, and I can't wait that long." He looked around, as if investigating a murder, turning up every rock. He left for a while and an hour later returned. "Still nothing, the whole enclosure is escape-proof." He padded back and forth. He then sat with Kana. "Well, guess I am not getting out." He said and sighed, looking to the moon. He then turned back a softness in his eyes. "What happened to you? Why did you leave the terra? I was searching for ever. Have you seen Tri-Tundra?" He had so many questions, it seemed overwhelming. But he felt like he had to know.
Kana
She sighed, "I had scented a human, or humans in out terra, tracking them they cornered be and caught me. The put something around my snout so I couldn't howl for help. Then, when one of them opened up the cage I was in and took of the thing on my snout, I bit him on the hand" she paused and smiled, "then I ran, one of the shot at me and it grazed the side of my shoulder" she said, glancing at the little bit of dried blood on her shoulder. "Then I cam back to out tt, everyone was gone" she said. When he asked her about Tri-Tundra she shook her head, "no, but Auna and Snowden said that they had scene her at the Breve Ridges, but she isn't there anymore" she said with a sigh. "We have got to figure out how to get you out of here, Dark Star."
Dark Star
"Yes, we both need to return to our packlands, or our ally chances might slip away..." His voice trailed off.
Kana
Kana nodded, "is there any way we could dig you out?" She asked.
Dark Star
"I don't know how deep it goes, but we could try." He looked doubtfull. Suddenly he winced. His wound was healing, but still scabbed. All of his movement had begun to irritate it. "I don't know if I can dig." He licked his wound and laid down, right next to the fence.
Kana
Kana nodded, "I'll try" she said, starting to dig. She had dug until she couldn't anymore and sighed, "it's no use!" She said in dismay....then another thought came to her, "What if..What if I had gotten myself caught by one of the humans, and as they where putting me in her I could attack them and we could make a run for it?"
Dark Star
When she spoke of her idea his voice went cold. "NO." He paused, and continued, his eyes now matched his voice. "NEVER would I EVER put you at risk. Not to free myself. Besides, they use a special medicine that sedates you...There is no way Kana. If you are trapped in here who then will watch over our friends?" His voice changed while he was inquiring her. It now had a curious, mysterious tone to it. It worried him how he was acting. He didn't know why he felt this way. His instinct was to protect, but trapped in here his instinct was....what?
Kana
Kana sighed and looked at him, "I miss you" she whispered. They had to get him out of here, they just hd to find a way to get him out.
Peregrine
Peregrine had been walking along the entire length of the fencing and came to where Kana and Dark Star spoke. At first he intended to circle around and not intrude, but it struck him how sad the two must be... it reminded him of his own fate. Torn from his pack; his mate and his pups. He hated how humans could so carelessly tear apart families for this! What was the meaning of this man-made pack? Enough questions he thought, shaking his head. He knew how he might be able to help. The alpha padded towards Dark Star and into the filtered light of the moon. "Sorry to intrude," he began, "but I know of a way that might get you out of here. It will take some endurance on your part and it's not guaranteed to work... but it might." He waited to see whether Dark Star would agree to this. "And you might be able to help with little risk of getting caught." he added, looking to Kana.
Kana
Kana looked at the wolf, she had never met him before but sense he was trying to help she didn't care. Nodded she asked, "what is it?" She said hopefully.
Dark Star
He looked to peregrine and nodded. "What is it? And how much risk on kana's part?" He stood up and waited.
Peregrine
He was glad they weren't mad by his intrusion. Carefully, he began to explain his plan, "I've heard talk, from the ravens mostly, about other places like this were humans keep wolves in a fenced-in pack. If the pack suddenly gangs up on one of their members and no longer wants them in the pack, the humans are forced to take them out. Or the pack will kill them. Stupid humans; why don't they know wolves disperse from their pack to make a new pack of their own? Ah, but anyway," the alpha continued, shaking the spoken thoughts away, "Cavan and I will 'attack' you and not let you near any food. They will see that we will 'kill' you if you stay, so they must take you out of here. And Kana," he looked over to the fae, learning her name after Dark Star spoke it, "she can shy around the fences and you," he looked back at Dark Star, "will follow her around the fence. They will see that you two want to be together, and hopefully let you go. But Kana, you must stay back at the fence near the Pebble Pond. It is furthest away from the humans, but they will see your tracks. Cavan and myself will keep watch for humans."
The alpha didn't know if this would work or not, but he believed what the ravens had told him. They had seen it happen before. He would have tried it to free himself, but that would leave Cavan in the cage by himself. Or if Cavan got released, Peregrine would be stuck in captivity. For now, he saw no way out of this captive life. But at least he could do something to help these two.
Kana
Kana listened and nodded, "that sounds good, what do you think?" She asked, looking at Dark Star. But before he could speak she said something, "And don't worry, I'll be fine" she said with a sly smile.
Dark Star
He sighed. He liked the Plan, but he saw the look of envy in Peregrine's eyes. It was obvious he wanted to leave too. Then, another plan based on Peregrine's formed. "What if.....AHA!" He thought up another plan. "What if you and Cavan, like you said, 'Attacked' me. Kana and I will do what you said, and IF they decide to let me out, I add on to your plan. When they give the sedative thing to me in my food, I pretend to eat it and collapse." He then paused, took a breath and kept going. "When they open the door to let me out, you hide in the brush nearby until I attack the humans, Kana you come from the back at them, maybe with others, then you two run out and we give them the slip. Sounds crazy, but it is worth a try, isn't it?" He then looked, with a strange look in his eyes as his shoulders relaxed and he sat. "To get the freedom and things you want, anything is worth a try."
He sat silent for a long time, looking towards a far place in the north. A place he used to call his. Until the humans attacked them and slaughtered all but him. Him and Tri-Tundra were the only ones of his pack left.
Kana
Kana grinned and nodded, "sounds good" she said. She liked his plan, that way everyone could be free.
Peregrine
Peregrine gave a very faint grin, holding back his secret joy. He didn't want to give his hopes up if the plan didn't work, but it was exciting to be plotting against the humans like this. "Good, I'll inform Cavan about the plan. The humans should feed us soon; it'll be somewhere around here." The alpha then turned and slipped back into the darkness, seeking out Cavan.
Dark Star
Dark Star barked quietly to Kana. "Be carefull with your attack. If I attack one, attack the other. If we both go for the same person, one or two others could catch us." He then brushed off his fretting and asked. "Do you know of anyone to help? Winter's Wing and Death's Angel could be of use." He hoped the plan would work, but he admitted, it wasn't full proof. At least with Kana, Peregrine and Cavan fighting together, they can try. "Remember, our goal is not to kill the people. We simply want to fight it out. We will already have a price on our necks to attack. If we have to kill them, well, our...pack wont be safe." He was going to say family, but they didn't have one yet. He then waited for Cavan and Peregrine to return. "Kana, go into the nearby brush, or hurry back to the packlands if you want help." He said softly. "let us hope we could have the cover of darkness." He muttered to himself.
Kana
Kana nodded, "alright, I'll go to the packlands and get help" she whispered. Turning around the grey wolfess ran off.
