Peregrine

The wolf wonders around the area, heart-broken. He has lost his mate and pups... but he was happy that they were free. The male saunters over to a fallen pine, and leaps gracefully on it. His thick alpha coat was still shimmery and healthy, but his attitude was poor. Peregrine threw back his maw and howled out in greif.

*Khaos*

Khaos raised her ashen mug, the sound of another wolf catching her attention. She had been born in captivity, and knew nothing of the outside world. It was the sound of a male. She got up from where she was laying, and padded towards him. She caught sight of the male, and gave a short woof of greeting. She flicked her peaks forward, alert and ready. Her tail was held slightly high in her dominance, but as she was only young, she wasn't sure of how to act around a more dominant wolf.

Peregrine

His song ended abruptly, and he swung his maw around, startled. He had feared he was trapped in another wolf's territory, and couldn't get out of it. But the greeting was reasuring to him, and he replied with a woof of his own.

"Who are you? I'm very sorry if I'm in your territory... the humans put me here." he noted her raised tail, and figured she might be the alpha. He kept his tail and muzzle higher, more for reasurence to himself that he was still an alpha.

*Khaos*

Khaos watched him for a moment. "This isn't really my territory, I just live here." She said finally, as she got closer to Peregrine. "Name's Khaos." She wagged her tail. At a closer glance, you could tell that she was about a year old.

Peregrine

"I'm Peregrine, the alpha male of the High Cliffs pack. So, are there any other wolves here? I haven't explored around much." he permitted a slight wave of his tail, and studied her in turn, noting her young age. "How did you get here?"

*Khaos*

"Nope. Actually, there is one, but he's very old. Lives in the den site. I was taken as a small puppy and brought here. It's not so bad." She smiles.

Peregrine

He gives a slight smile, but was still worried. "So there's no way out of here? Peregrine glances over at a sparrow flitting through the trees, then back to the she-wolf. "What's the name of the wolf who lives in the den?"

*Khaos*

Khaos shook her head. "Nope. I looked." She paused for a moment. "I think his name is Tiki, but I'm not sure."

Peregrine

"Tiki" he repeats, and looks thoughtfully at the young she-wolf before him. "Well, I'm glad you're here..." he paused, relizing that might not have been the best thing to say. Then again, he thought, Khaos probably woulnd't be offended, since she's been here her whole life. "I would have hated being the only one in this forsa..." again, he stopped, not wanting to say anything bad about the place she called home, "...this place. Could we meet Tiki?" his tail swished slightly. He might as well get to know this other wolf, if he was going to be here for a while.

*Khaos*

She shrugged. "It's not that bad. We can meet Tiki if you want, but I warn you, he's a big grump." She grinned, and wagged her tail.

Peregrine

He grinned a bit as well, "Heh, that's ok. I've known a few wolves like that!"
