Risen
Chrome huntress moved from deep within the temple into the center of the main floors. Already had blood been spilled and lives been taken. She had to only grin at this. The long night was over and it was time to begin their hunt. Who to hunt upon first would be the subject of the day. The only suggestion she could give was Vestige now that his pack and all others were tired. The Haunters were able to rest with the watchful eye of the Assassins though some would still be a bit restless. If they could not handle it they were weak.
Standing at the doorway she threw back her head and gave a low howl for all the division leaders to come to the meeting. Her note carried across the land but was further helped by Ino as she delivered the message personally to every lead.
Risen moved back into the veil of shade as she was swallowed up by the temple. Now sitting directly in the middle and staring out for those who were to come.
Wither had not been far so she was the first to come bounding in. Shattered had been with Quil for only a while, but soon returned and sat in a soon to become circle. All those who were not leads could participate but had little say, they would sit on the outskirts of the leaders circle.
Prisoner
The horse soon entered the cave of wolves. She smirked and hissed lowering her head in bows. She would not be touched nor would her second in command and the two foals that followed. She soon joined what little circle had been made so far then turned to Mikia "Have your foal stand behind you." Risen eyed Mikia. "They are not leaders as of yet, and so they are not apart of this meeting. They are too young to give suggestions." She looked toward the foals, then looked back around for the rest of the pack.
Mikia&Greda&Cain
Mikia had gotten the message of course having been with prisoner at the time.Of course she had been staying close to her if an attack came she could nto protect both her children. She snorted as she entered the cave of wolves. She bobbed her dial in a bow and then stoped. She listened to prisoner and nodded. She looked to her children and snorted.
Greda and cain snorted back at their mother but obeyed and stood behind her their heads resting on her rump.
Bloodlust
Bloodlust entered the temple, feeling uneasy and unwelcome but still trotted beside some of the wolves and sat down. A horse was here, but Bloodlust did not care, she knew that Risen would welcome any animal wishing to join her group. "Where is Shattered?" Bloodlust asked Prisoner, still in wonder where her 'friend' had vanished to.
Incalia
The hybrid had been in the Temple when Risen had called. Her bulky, muscled frame spun round and she padded over towards the group. Incalia took her place in the circle, offering no glances to anyone, her cold, dark eyes fixed on the alphess as she waited for the council to begin.
.purgatory .+. Ressurrection .+. Kage
I'm Trapped In Nothingness
I move quickly towards the call of my sister, even though I know it is a leaders council. Maybe she would want me to speak of these two new wolves I had found, this Datenshi and Mahotsukia. In fact, I had some new information on Datenshi that I think Risen would quite enjoy. But, I would wait for the others to arrive first so that they could hear as well. Speckled body seated itself in the circle, not to far from Incalia. Hopefully Sacrifice would be here, she was the only one who seemed to understand my need for medicine and helping others. In war, I was practically useless. I froze up, and I couldn't help it. I knew I would shame the Shadow Haunters should the need to fight arose. My eyes drifted around then widened as they landed first upon my mother, then into the shadows where I saw a lurking figure. Could it be?
Bring the Dead to LIFE
I was Risens look alike, through and through. Although a tad more lanky like my mother, it was my only difference. My eyes wander from wolf to wolf as they arrived, taking in everyone. I was weighing my options. Join the other side, or join the Haunters. Although much of my family resided here, that meant nothing to me. But, I had information that dear little Purgatory didn't. Information that would greatly advantage the Haunters should they choose to take it. My eyes landed on my sisters, and they narrowed darkly in warning. As she averted her gaze, I smirk. Cute little Purgatory, so eager to please everyone. It was nice to see her again though. I wandered if our brother would show up as well. I hadn't seen him in many moons now, and although it did not worry me I did greatly miss my partner in crime. Even though we had not done anything to horrible with one another in so long, I still held what we had done close to my heart. He had always been my favorite sibling.
The Shadows Are Dark and Haunting as they Stalk the Day
I was panting heavily, and my eyes were alight with my madness. Although slightly crazed, I was beyond elated. White Tip was dead, and so was her daughter. Pal..Pal...Oh who cared. My two daughters had killed her, and now she was gone just like her worthless mother. Glee filled my mad eyes. Silver orbs turned to see two of my daughters and I grin. I would see my other daughter as well. I was here just to be here. May as well join now, I had nothing else to do. My tail wagged back and forth, and I seemed light hearted but in all honesty, I had gone over the edge of sanity. I was like Nachi, only not pup stealing. With me, if I decided I didn't like you I'd let you know with your emminent death. Those here in this pack were safe. For now.
Thunder's Call
As leader of his small division, the grizzly responded to Risen's call. He didn't seem particularly 'eager' as he lumbered upon the group, chocolate-brown eyes investigating each of the unique creature present, but with little enthusiasm. Unlike his more hyper division member, Misqueet, Thunder was far more laid back - until it came to fighting.
Taking his stance with the other gathered leaders, the bear waited for the meeting to begin.
Leope
Not actually a leader of the division, Leope had still been assigned to come to the meeting by one of his mates, Dulsca. The big, dark-maned lion was pretty much built for fighting, with thickly muscled limbs, densely furred neck and throat, and a drive to protect what was his.
Cursing as cockleburs and curved thorns snagged as his usually pristine mane, Leope sauntered towards the diverse group of leaders. Ok, which one is the leader... didn't she say it was a wolf...? He thought to himself, trying to recall the name that Rasheetah and Dulsca had told him. Still unsure of whom the wolf-leader was, the lion placed himself by Incalia, standing tall as he waited for the meeting to comence.
Monarda
As the red-tailed wolf entered the meeting area, her mustard-hued eyes lit up at the sight of so many creatures. The bear was a big surprise; she heard that they had a bear division, but had yet to actually see the creatures. And the lion! Now that was something new. His mane seemed comically huge, and reminded her of the thick-ruffed son of Vicious that she often saw roaming about the Ruins. So this was the creature his mother named him after?
Shuffled past the leaders, Monarda settled herself smack-dab in the center of those gathered, putting herself directly in front of Risen. Sitting back on her sepia haunches, the wolfess awaited the beginning of the meeting.
Bloodlust
Bloodlust looked at Monarda, what a daring wolfess. Bloodlust did not speak to the wolf, that wolf could easily rip her throat...seeing that it was so daring to sit right in the middle. Bloodlust was unlike Monarda, hidden from others rather then trying to advertise herself.
Nachi
The feline-and-pup-obsessed wolf made it to the Ruins next. She was thrilled beyond belief at the pack she was in, filled with all sorts of big cats and cubs. Her life was complete now, and she couldn't be more content. With her half-crazed eyes on Leope, Nachi padded quickly across the stone grounds and placed herself right next to the big cat. Hoping that Rasheetah would occupy her other side, Nachi could hardly keep herself from casting infatuated glanced to both cats and marveling at their size and build.
Risen .+. Others
Risen's eyes blazed as she saw the leaders file in. Razor came in and sat next to the horses, his eyes searching for Krypt then resting on the alphess. Shattered watched as Bloodlust looked for her then moved to take her seat next to the mothering wolf. Rasheetah came in next and, just as Nachi had hoped, sat next to the pup-cat-crazed wolf. Turning a nobel head toward Risen. Rapture did show but he did not place himself in the circle instead he gave nods to his family and sat solitare in a corner near his one-eyed father. Sacrifice, too came in and took a seat near Risen, eyeing her mother and sister then giving a bow to Purgatory to offer comfort.
After the rest had filed in Risen cleared her throat and growled deeply, "As you all know, The Shadow Haunters are growing greatly in numbers, also in veriaty." She nodded to the cats horses and bears. " We are a force to be recond with. However, even with our strength, many wish our downfall. It is our duty to take them out first or we will surely fail. As you may know, Vestige has allied himself with his former enemy, The Shadow Lurkers. He will continue to beg for others help, we must destroy possible enemies, convert possible allies, and take down those who stand in our way!" She raared and turned a quivering lip around the circle.
Many were silent and waited until the alpha continued. "I have gathered you here today to speak of the future of the Haunters. We must attack, but where to attack first? Should we try and take Vestige now that he is weak? Or maybe the lurkers, or their allies. We no longer need to gain pups other than peace treaties." She comment on Toxin pointedly.
Again she paused, "Now, Any suggestions on what our future holds?" Her eyes burned to all those around her, even some in the background for suggestions that she would not think of herself. She wanted to attack Vestige while he was down, but the others may think differently.
Krypt & Incalia
Another filtered into the temple as Risen began her speech. Not knowing whether to sit in the main circle, or just outside it, Krypt decided it was probably best to sit just behind Razor. It would probably be the safest choice, unless told otherwise. Not really knowing what to say, and having no suggestions, Krypt just sat there watching everyone else.
Incalia regarded the lion next to her with a nod, but was secretly amazed at the size and power the cat possessed. When Risen started, the hybrid remained silent throughout the speech, taking in the information and trying to think of something she could suggest. I agree with your idea to take out the allies of the Shadow Lurkers. If Vestige's pack is now protected by the peace treaty, we should start to destroy any hope of him mounting a force against us. The Sedge Creek pack and the Silver Glades pack could be taken out as they seem to be smaller than the Shadow Lurkers. With them out of the way we can kill the Lurkers and Vestige together, as our pack easily outnumbers them. She paused before continuing. May I suggest that my division, and Rasheeta and Nachi's division take our either the Sedge Creek or Silver Glades pack? Then other divisions can head for the other pack. Then again, if you would prefer it, we could just kill Vestige now.
Mikia & Greda & Cain & Rasja
Mikia listened and she bobbed her dial every once in a while. She felt two heads restagainst her and she just stood there.
the two foal stood close to their mother frightened by all these animals.
Rajsa had had no luck with finding others but she didn't care. She had been sitting a corner when the meeting started. Soon the white tiger stood up and moved closer to the group to listen.
Litharaz
The american white shepherd approached the gathering as Rajsa did, and sat behind Leope, Nachi and Incalia. He stayed quiet, knowing he had nothing to say.
Leope
Unlike Dulsca, Leope didn't have the best grasp of knowlegde over his enemies yet. He knew vaguely of the Shadow Lurkers, the Sedge Creek Pack, the Silver Glades Pack, and some others around the area. However, he did know of some minor enemies.
"It may sound like a strange assault, but here is my idea. There is a horse territory to the far northeast. I'm not sure of their alliances, but I know they won't have good will towards us." The reason being, he and Dulsca had attacked that particular herd about a year back, but were unsuccessful in killing any of the members. With the help of Callholm and Dulsca, he had learned that the herd directly south of the horses' belonged to a radical deer lead who had begun to strike alliances with as many horses and deer he could. "Below them is a large deer herd, which has greatly increased in size since Dulsca and I first arrived here. It has come to my knowledge that they are building alliances with other equines and the like, in an attempt to hault our progress."
Leope paused, giving a decisive look around at the other leaders, "As far as I know, they aren't in alliance with the Shadow Lurkers. We should strike them now, and have it look as simple as predator killing prey... Not only will it succeed in squelching them as a potential future threat, but if we strike them now, it will not raise suspicion from the Lurkers and cause them to be on the defense. We could strike out their future allies in silence before moving on to bigger game." Hungry eyes turned towards the horses as he licked his muzzle, but he kept himself in control as he added one last incentive, "Elimating at least one of those two herds will give us another Shadow Land."
Risen .+. Others
Risen listened to each intently, licking her lips as the suggestion to kill Vestige was tossed up. Oh how she wanted him dead. If he was dead, though, would his pack be willing to live under the Haunter's rule? It could be the first housing there will be. Not members but not enemies, nor allies. Just those who would be protected under their authority.
When Leope spoke up Risen's yellow eyes narrowed on the cat. Lifting her head in thought then nodding. "It would do a great deal to take out potential threats at the moment. Tyrant has told me that herd is huge, he killed one of their offspring. They will give us ill will wherever they can. But we do not need their land as a Shadow land just yet, we have many unoccompanied lands at the moment that need leaders. Rasja, if you gain three members you may choose which open land to reside on." She spoke then turned to the rest of the group. "How about we split into two parties. one division will be accompanied with the Assassins and my father to kill Vestige. Quilikahm will poison their food the night before to make them all drowsy and less likely to fight. When they are too weak to even think of fighting back, take down Vestige, but leave the rest of the pack alone. Fend off those who will fight along side their alpha. Those who stay seated without ill intentions are to be left alone."
Her words hissed and her eyes blazed along the room. "The horse herd will be the bait for the deer herd. You..." A moments paused was given as she looked toward the horse. Prisoner spoke up gently. "Mikia, Mistress." A wicked smile cursed her lips. "Yes, Mikia. I want you to lead your children to an open plain. There a few wolves will circle them and bite at them hungerly. Leave the rest to hide. The lions closer because of their camoflauge in the grass. Tell the herd you lost your children and lead them toward them. Pretend. Act as if their lives are in danger. Move with them as if to attack the wolves. Fall back only slightly, don't give your intentions away. When you move back enough the lion's will attack the front deer. Razor." The black beasts ears perked at his name. "You take the children to safetly amongst the cubs. Ynear will care for them and you return to the fight. Krypt you will fight with them as well."
She gave a long pause, hopeing the plan would flash through their minds as it was flashing through her own. "As soon as the foals are taken out of fighting range the rest who lay in wait will attack. Have half of the army attack the front and when the end catches up to help, let the others deploy from behind. The element of suprise, to distroy them all." She snarled and barked in the air. Eyes pulsing and twitching around.
Hungry faces exchanged and glances were given. Rapture barked from the sidelines. "I'll help with the deer." Shattered growled and stepped up. "I shall help with the deer as well." Wither remained silent, giving a glance to Tersek to see what his suggestion was.
Vicious arose and walked closer seating himself behind his daughter, waiting to head toward the wolf pack. "Who is going to lead the assult on Vestige, and who will join the assult on the deer herd." Growled Risen, ready for everyone's attention. "And is this plan acceptable by all?" She asked giving room for objection.
Tersek
While his brother remained outside with Faded, Tersek was participating the meeting, wracking his brain for a good plan. When the others began to share the suggestions, Tersek remained quiet, as he failed to come up with a better plan than what had already been hatched. With the glance from his niece, the big hybrid finally spoke up, "I'd like to take on V.estige's pack." He figured he could fight deer any time, and wanted a good challenge with a wolf battle. He didn't realize just how fierce Nhosh had trained his herd, or what allies the stag had come up with.
Mikia
She snorted and pawed the ground but knew she couldn't object. She bobbed her dial knowing the foals though would not be hurt what so ever and if they were well there be a price to pay.
greda and cain just stood where they werer their little tails going quickly
rajsa she nodded lightly.
Sacrifice
The two faced minx walked close to the circle, moving around the lion and cheetah as well as Nachi to her half sister, Risen. She nodded toward Malicious with a dark growl. "She wishes to join. She says she will help destroy Vestige."
At even the thought of teaming up with one who attacked her, Risen's fur ignited and she stood tall and glared at the one who entered, but did not leave her post for already the three assassins moved around the fea to make sure no harm would be done to the rest. Yellow orbs narrowed darkly and she gave a deadly hiss "We already have planned to attack Vestige, but I have a question; Are you on good ground with him?" She smirked, if this fea was truely speaking the truth, Risen's plan would fold out nicely.
Faded
The red wolf walked up to Risen and bowed. She wasn't the least bit nervous, even though she knew Risen could rip her to pieces if she wanted. "Excuse me." She said to Risen. "I request to join your pack. I can prove myself worthy. Just tell me what you want me to do."
Risen
Risen rolled her eyes with a dreadful look So many interuptions. But even with slight irritation welping up inside of her she offered a half baked smile. "You may join if you think you are worthy. What we can let you do for now is wait until final decisions are made. We are to take out Vestige and a herd of deer. You will prove your worth very soon." She turned back to the meeting awaiting any objection as well as Malicious' responce. She already had a plan on how to use Malicious.
Plan running through her head. Go back to Vestige with the 'they didn't accept me' plea. Offer to hunt for the entire pack without eating any herself. come back to a drugged deer body and bring it back in a few hours. Let the pack eat it and be drugged, then attack- Risen only smiled at the thought but gave no hints yet to what she would foretell.
Penny
Penny flew in and perched on a tall stone wall, just out of the reach of the wolves. She watched carefully, interested in this little group they had here.
Bloodlust
Bloodlust had been listening, correct...that was quit a good plan. Then the bird, Penny, flew in and the smell of that bird made her fur rise. "That bird! It smells of deer, it is allied to the deer! It will tell them!" Bloodlust barked, rising and walking towards the wall.
Penny
Penny cocked her head in a lofty way. "If I was allied to the deer, I would not be here. I would be with the deer." She said arrogantly. "Even if I was with the deer, you have nothing to fear. That is, if you think you're strong. I may have misjudged you though." She still stood tall on her perch. "I have interest in your pack. Don't tell the deer that I have betrayed them. Just pretend I am a hostage or something." She was usually quite good at lying, but this may have not been her best lie.
Malicious
Malicious walked into the room where Risen was holding her meeting. She sat along with them, listening to the plans. Malicious looked at Risen adn smiled psycoticly. She would help them all kill Vestige for his disrespect.
Risen
The alpha turned her head to the bird that perched. It was true she smelt of deer. "Don't like you low grade poultry. Dally, get her!" she barked angerly. As if on que, her other bird dove in from behind. Tiny claws set to suprise the bird. Ino was probably about half the size of the bird but was not willing to give up a fight easily.
Penny
Penny laughed, using her senses that came with being a Secretary Bird to sense the other bird. Her wing was clipped by the bird, but not severely. She flew down to Risen, towering over her intimidatingly. "For somebody who claims to be so perfect, you sure are a coward. Having others do your dirty work and all. Why don't you do your chores yourself, ugly beast." She stayed, just to see what Risen would try. "I thought of joining your pack. I even lied to the deer that I was going to spy on you. Maybe I'll have to fly back to the deer and tell them you're a worthless coward." She pretended everything was okay, when it really wasn't.
Malicious
Malicious smiled at the 'show' that the birds were putting on. Risen, you know how to entertain us all! Now, accept or deny my pack entrance. She smiled again, staring at Risen with a creepy. psycotic and happy look on her face.
Risen
With the deman Risen turned with a wild look all her own. Psychotic was putting it mildly when one looked into her eyes. Fires began to errupt and a blood chilling snarl began to seeth from her lips. "Don't you ever dare push your luck with me. It will be wise to bite your tongue until meetings amongst the leaders are dismissed." Her growls came in gurgalling bursts through her nose and throat. Pupils constricted even in the dim light of the temple.
"Plans for you will be spoken of after this pest is ridden from my sight and the range of our voices. She hissed low, creeping dangerously close to Malicious ear. "You will not be accepted into this pack until Vestige's head rests at my lap!" She backed slightly with a quivering lip. "How you ask. Simple, but the plans will not be explained just yet. As of now, however, you are on neutral terms with us. Stick around until the plan unfolds. You are a key part in Vestiges down fall."
Risen .+. Rasheetah
Risen snarled darkly and bit at the bird. When the bird was in sight the cheetah moved around. The dim light in the den would be a sure strike. Most birds could not see well in the dark. When Rasheetah was in range she lept as powerfully as she could. Claws scratching at the feathers and jaws at its neck. It would be the end of the bird, she would make sure of it.
Malicious
Malicious put on a hurt look and bowed her head. A smile spread across her face as a plan of her own unfolded. She could kill Vestige herself...or she would bring Vestige, broken and battered to Risen and allowe her mistress to kill the despicable wolf. That would get her more 'points' with the pack.
Penny
The cat's attack came by surprise. Penny was brought to the ground, but she wasn't going down that easily. "You know..." She said, choking. "You claim to be the strong ones. For somebody so strong and brave, you sure do a lot of ambushing. Only cowards ambush." Even in the jaws of a killer, she herself was strong and brave.
Dally
Dally swooped down from the heavens, answering Risen's call as quick as he could. But as he arrived on the scene, it appeared that the cheetah had things under control now. Alighting on a stone a few paces from Penny, the peregrine faclon raised his wings slightly in a threatening manner, "The smart and cunning use every skill they can to gain the advantage. It is folly to put your 'nobleness' in the way of common sense." He wanted to tear into the bird, but decided not to get too close to those fangs of Rasheetah's.
Cavan & Nachi
Laying on the ground, off to the side of the assembly, Cavan listened without interruption to the ideas passed around. He really didn't care one way or the other where he ended up in all of this, so long as he tasted someone's blood. As Penny caused a comotion, Cavan pulled himself to his paws, sauntering casually towards the now trapped secretary bird. As his icy-gold eye peered down on the bird, he spoke in a gruff but slightly amused tone, "We ought to test out Quil's plants on this one. See what she's capable of. If nothing else, it will give us some entertainment."
Nachi's tail swayed like a snake from side to side, arching dramatically sideways at the tip at the end of each swing. Her eyes were wide and intent as she watched Rasheetah take on the bird, and a tingle coursed down her spine. How absolutely thrilling it was to see her in action!
Risen .+. Others
An evil laughter started up in her throat as the bird spoke such words. Dally was the one to take the words right out of her mouth and she nodded to the bird. "Yes, it is more than stupid to stand infront of a hungry mouth if you have no room to run." Harks perked now as Cavan spoke, a devilish grin spreading deeper into her features. "Yeah, it should be, though I don't want her to be getting anywhere with any information. Rasheetah break her legs." She snapped angerly.
The cheetah moved unsheethable claws the the birds side. Pressing down a wing that could get in the way and then began to snap mercilessly at the two limbs. With both broken, flight would be hard to manage and takeing off without assistance would be next to impossible.
Sacrifice smiled at the amusement then barked. "Shall we end this then? We know she is getting no where with our information." Risen nodded and turned to Malicious. " Now, the plan of action you will take will be to return to your old pack in tears. Tell them we rejected you and that you wish to make up for such cruel actions. I know not of which note you left. Go about as you please. Convince them you will hunt for the entire pack to make up for your sins, then return here and we will have a deer filled with herbs that will make the wolves dissorented or drowse. You will be followed back by a few warriors and when you give the signal they will attack Vestige." She snarled giving a demanding order. "The rest of the pack is not to be harmed unless they refuse to leave you alone after you kill Vestige. If they continue to fight, kill them. Leave bystanders at peace for we have a peace treaty with them. So far. Now go, A Haunter must have the ability to act very well. Make sure they believe you." It was an order, not a suggestion, then turned for what torcher lie ahead for the bird.
Sacrifice nodded to Malicious, "I will lead the group behind as you carry the food to the land."
Bloodlust
Bloodlust growled at Penny. "You can't lie to a mother, I know how others lie, their voice seems to get a little shaky, not much but ever so that I can understand!" Bloodlust snapped, it was the truth. She had been lied to plenty of times by her adventurous, rambunksious little pups. "And do not even say coward. For its you that is the coward if you are lying planely."
Malicious
Malicious smiled her crooked smile and nodded to Risen. Alas, she could get that wolf back for how disrespectful he had been.
Sacrifice
Sacrifice had left then returned with a baby calf clutched in her jaws. The cow had escaped with a few others and had broken its leg in the cattle grid on the way out. Sacrifice was easily able to catch the young thing and brought it back for the bait. If Malicious' lies did not succeed it could be a meal.
Placing the corpse in the middle of the room Sacrifice called for Quilikahm. If need be Sacrifice would help take the food to be set.
Penny
Penny fought for the longest time, kicking and scratching at the cat. But then she stumbled. Her legs were broken, and she was once again helpless. Though, not completely. She still had a few tricks up her sleeve. What they were, she wasn't sure. "I would be willing to join your pack if you weren't cowardly sociopaths." She chuckled. "The only information I can give the deer is that you are weak and stand no chance against us. For we are strong, and bow to no one. I, of course, bow to the Creator. You are scum, Risen. You will fall and there will be a new ruler. You will only be a faint memory in the minds of your followers." She felt extreme pain in her broken legs, but she ignored it. She appeared strong. "You rule over a few simple-minded pawns and sit on a throne in a castle made with sand. The wind and the rain are coming crashing in. Time will tell just how long your kingdom stands." She needed help, but she would not waste the time of her friends. She looked at Bloodlust. "I will say whatever I darn well feel like I want to say." She gazed into Risen's eyes. "You can't control me, demon. No matter how hard you try."
Risen
Risen nodded to Sacrifice as she brought in the bait then listened to the words of the bird and laughed. "Control you?" But in a flash her body became bitter with rage. "I WANT YOU DEAD! You and all of your deer little friends! YOU WONT EVEN RETURN TO THEM SO STOP SPEAKING AS IF YOU WILL!" With that she lunged at the birds neck, jaws clamping around to break it fast. She wanted to hear no more, the entertainment was canceled for the bird had drawn the last straw.
Penny
"HAHA!" Penny teased. "So I am intimidating you..." She chuckled, but her speech was cut off by the possessed wolf's jaws. "You...c...can try...but...I'm not...going to...give--" She could barely breath, though she flapped her wings as hard as she could. Even when she thought her life was coming to an end, she didn't give into the sociopath's power.
Quilikahm
By now, the muntjac had gathered a good deal of plants; mainly roots, evergreens foliage, and seed pods. There wasn't much in the way of flowers and herbacious matter this time of the year, although spring would be coming in a few weeks. She planned to plant the most prominent and useful herbs all around the area of the Ruins to provide the pack a fresh, abundant, and quick supply when needed.
Trotting quickly over the ground, her eyes grew wide at the sight of the bird and Risen lunging for the throat. Figuring it best to stay out of the enraged alpha's way, Quil scooted closer to Sacrifice. Her stomach rumbled slightly as she laid her sights on the calf, for her kind ate as much meat as they did plants. However, she knew there were more important matters at hand than eatting right now, so she remained quiet until given instructions.
Bloodlust
Bloodlust watched them attack Penny. "Damn bird..." She mumbled before speaking up. "Risen? Maybe...Maybe we can trust her. I don't know but something tells me..." Bloodlust growled, looking around crossly. "I feel like she might be telling the truth...but then its telling me she will tell the deer. Argh! Dammit!" Bloodlust just back away, she was in a trance, her gut twisting.
Malicious
Malicious looked to her mistress, Risen, for dismissal. She wanted to kill Vestige and have his disrespectful soul burn forever.
Penny
Penny looked at Bloodlust, breathing her last breaths. Her eyes gleamed one last time, then they closed. She would not breath her last breaths today. Some day she would sleep and never wake, but it wasn't this day. "I...will...make a deal...with you." She said, trying to get oxygen. "You win, and you keep me as a slave or until somebody rescues me." She began. "We win, and you let me free."
Risen
Risen was in a blinding rage, Sacrifice spoke for the blinded "Go Malicious hurry, the meat will get cold." She barked. Almost had her teeth gritted as Bloodlust spoke. She turned and snarled. "She is annoying and will be delt with as such." Her teeth dug further to promise some blood. Then Penny spoke and Risen laughed insanely. Never losing her hold. "You will not win -and- you are of no use to me. Tell me a good reason not to kill you." She snarled, ready to snap the trap shut and end the secretary's life.
Penny
Penny was stuck. She didn't know what to say this time. "I have three friends at the domes who were born to kill lions. No doubt they could kill you. Their horns are about the length of your bodies, maybe longer. At the sound of my croak, they will come running and kill you." She chuckled, then let out a loud call.
Malicious
Malicious nodded and swiftly departed, not leaving any traces that she had been here.
Cavan & Nachi
Eyes narrowed at Penny's threats as previous amusement faded away. "Nach, go to your pups and alert the lions. Have them ready at a minute's notice." A questioning look was given to Risen before he barked to Dally, "Head to the front of the ridges and watch for three creatures that fit her description. If any land creature comes here, they'll have to pass through the front of the ridges before reaching us. And we'll have plenty of time to respond." He hoped he hadn't over-stepped his bounds on this one, but just in case he did, Cavan kept himself away from imidiate biting-distance from Risen.
Bob/Calvin/Lily
Bob led his son and 'daughter' to the temple, after hearing the call of his dear old friend. "Penny!" He called, shaking his head threateningly.
Calvin stood tall and strong, watching his dad 'handle' the situation. He couldn't stand it. "Let her go, poop scum!" He snapped. He would give a warning, then he would gore Risen with his lion-killing horns. But what was 'poop scum?' He didn't care.
"No!" Called Lily. "You let her go this instant! You hear me?!" She demanded.
Risen .+. others
The next line formed with Shattered, Wither, Razor, Rasheetah, Vicious and Rapture. Prisoner took a few steps forward and hissed out her whinny. "All trespasser's who try and steal our information is a dead one. Leave before we these little carnivors find your hides their next meal."
Risen nodded for the rest to get in place. With the birds claims, these ones were strong and should be killed if they attempt any mishaps. "You step any closer and the bird will have no head." She gave a loud threatening growl. She would not stand to see her pack injured when their dealings were now underway. "How about this compromise bird. You will be held prisoner until after the war. If we win you will have a clutch of eggs. And then you're dog meat." She snarled.
Each of those who placed themselves before the antelope type creatures started to growl and snarl. Each ready to kill and be injured or killed for the rise of the Shadow Haunters.
Thunder's Call
Weighing in at a little over half a ton, Thunder's Call had quite a bit of force to throw around. One swipe of his paw could kill a black bear - a fact which he used to keep Misqueet in line when the smaller creature annoyed him, which was often enough.
Placing himself in the ranks of the others, Thunder lowered his head, giving an ominous growl and snapping his jaws in typical warning fasion. "Go ahead and attack. I'm finding myself quite hungry at the moment."
Monarda
"Nice headset." Monarda complimented wryly as she too joined the front line, giving her fiendish jaws a lick as her mustard eyes gleamed hungrily at the antelope. "We should use them to pick our teeth when we are done eating." The wolfess said, adding on to Thunder's prior reference to making the creatures their next dinner.
Leope
As with the rest, Leope took his place in supporting the defense of the pack. He had been an adolescent when he was captured, but had lived long enough in Africa to know well what these creatures were. He had only tasted their blood once, and even then it was from stealing a carcass from some unfortunate hyenas. While the others offered their mocking lines to Bob and his family, Leope offered a show of his long canines and a throaty roar. Sharp claws flexed and his muscled tensed for action.
Rajsa
The white tigress listened to all of this and then spun around took a good postion and growled."I'd listen to them and leave cuz im quiet hungry"SHe growled.
Mitya and her foals stayed in the back but mitya was ready.
Penny/Bob/Calvin/Lily
"Fine. You have a deal." Said Penny. "But if I am the only Secretary Bird here, who will be my mate? You know, the clutch of eggs?"
"Penny! Don't!" Said Calvin.
Lily burst into tears. Her best friend was about to be dog chow.
Bob did all he could to comfort his daughter, but there's not much you could do to comfort a girl who has lost a dear friend.
Risen .+. Others
Risen smiled and placed the bird down for the watch of Dally. "Keep an eye on her, she wont be much trouble until her legs heal though. and even then she will have a hard time to get around." She turned to the three. "Leave!" She snarled. The assassins snapped their fangs and stepped closer. and the rest took their snap as well with their own step to push the fools from the land.
Quilikahm
The little deer remained behind the defensive line during the turmoil. She could influct some nasty wounds with her tusks, even fatal if she aimed right; but given her tiny size, she could just as easily be trambled before being able to reach any vital areas on such a large enemy as the three gazel were. Besides, her usefulness to the pack was knowledge, not fighting strength.
Rajsa
Rajsa growled and snapped her jaws shut and took a few steps forward.
Bob/Calvin/Lily
Bob walked away, and Calvin nearly had to drag Lily away. All together, they left.
Malicious
Malicious limped into the temple and down many hallways until she came upon a deserted one. Malicious had failed, but maybe Risen would not find her here. She climbed into a bed of vines and fell asleep.
Risen .+. Others
Risen did see the tip of Malicious tail dissapear around the corner. She had failed to get the pack to eat. Snarling deeply she noded her head to them. "MALICIOUS!" She roared, letting the temple shake with her voice. Turning a blazing eye upon the group. "We will move out now! Rapture, Father, Malicious, Sacrifice, Quil and I will head toward Vestiges pack. Stuff the deer with the Toxins. If they take the bait we will wait until they are immobilized. Then head in to kill Vestige. If not, I will lour Vestige away and you will attack him when we are out of sight from the pack." She then turned to the entire rest of the group."The rest will move to the deers land. Cavan will lead. Mikia, you had better act as well as you can. Cavan will point out where to put them. Malicious! Now Move out!" She snarled, not waiting for the rest and began to head toward land. Sacrifice waited for Quil to finish stuffing the cow with the drugs. Rapture and Vicious moved out behind Risen. Only after the calf was fixed up did Sacrifice take the deer then growled at the deer. "Go to Dima's temple, Villain will point you there. Villain will then get the children, they do not need to be in the open while we are on the attack." With that she turned and continued after the small group.
Villain came in next and barked at the deer. Turning to lead her to the aligators temple. Ino would follow Nachi and tell her to go get the pups and return to Dima's temple. Nachi and Ynear were not to fight. Niether was Dulsca nor the pregnant tigress. Everyone else was to recruited.
Shattered nodded to Bloodlust, then followed out. Looking to Cavan to move to the front. Wither and Silver Trace moved ahead of the group to help collect the cubs and bring them to the protection of the temple. Prisoner followed the group as well as Razor, who looked to Krypt, and Rasheetah, who moved to her lands to recruit the rest of the cats.
Quilikahm
Hoping to prove herself worthy at this important time, the little deer scurried towards the room where she had stored her gathered herbs. She didn't have a wide range of herbs collected yet, but she did have one that should work well enough. Her poison was Kalmia. Carting several mouth-loads of the plant to the carcass, she carefully worked the material into the choicest parts of the meat. "This is only good against canines. Any that eat it will soon go into a stupor, and stagger around in a sickened daze. Very soon, they will collapse on the ground and appear to be near-death... totally helpless. They will remain sick for at least several days, but it shouldn't be fatal... unless they eat too much of it."
As Risen's squad headed out, Quil followed Villian's lead as she made her way to the safety of Dima's Temple, satisfied that her work was done.... for now.
Malicious
Malicious crept out of her hiding place and let out an exasperating growl. She had just been there! Malicious shrugged and limped along with the group.
Mikia
She listened to reason and bobbed her dial. She nickered to her foals and then began to follow the group. If her babies ended up being hurt at all she would leave the group but she trusted them not to really hurt them.
they followed their mother.
Cavan & Nachi
"Alright, follow me!" Cavan ordered in a howling bark, tail flagged in the air as high as a beta's should be. Single eye flashed to Mikia before he headed for the Oak Prairie territory, plans mulling in his head.
Nachi didn't need to be told twice to protect the precious pups and kittens. Leaving the others to fight, she made for the the Cat Division.
