Orinoco
Orinoco poked her nose and eyes out of the murky water. Seeing no danger, she used her powerful tail to propel her through her home. It was becoming very quiet here, and the Yacare Caiman wasn't exactly fond of that.
Villain
The wolf who had befriended the reptiles made his way down the slope and to their home with a wagging tail. As he approached the water he barked out to the moving creature. "Hail there Orinoco, how are you this fine day!" It was quite litterally Night but he didn't like to differenciate the two. "We are about to bring you some food if you would like." He offered sitting at the edge to wait for the Caiman's company.
Orinoco
Orinoco stopped when he heard her friend's voice. Villain was such a nice wolf. "I am very fine, thank you. And how are you?" She replied politely as she swam towards the canine. She stopped at the water's edge and watched him. "I would enjoy a nice meal right about now." She loved to be given gifts, but only if she could repay the favor.
Ard-Rai
Ard-Rai had never before seen a wolf so close, and so he lifted his eyes above the water, watching. Orinoco was the only friend he had made as of yet, and she was to be protected from... from whatever plot this canine had in mind. He was not yet being directly aggressive, had not lifted his head out of the water to strike, but as he slid up beside the female his eyes were hard upon Villan, his voice deep. Greetings.
Orinoco
Orinoco smiled as Ard-Rai came near. "The wolf is Villain. Perhaps you have met before." She said to the fellow caiman, then looked at Villain. "...And the caiman is Ard-Rai." She had many friends here, but she was always more comfortable around others of her own kind. "The pack is going to fetch us a meal soon."
Ard-Rai
An amused hiss escaped Rai, but he did not speak what was in his mind. A waitressing service, eh? Just reviewing the thought caused him to hiss again, but Orinoco's unintended joke had effectively broken the ice, and so his voice when he spoke to Villan was significantly more friendly. No, I don't believe we have. My pleasure, Villain.
Orinoco
Orinoco gazed at Villain, than at Rai. Perhaps they would be friends. The Shadow Haunters did have an interesting social structure. Prey befriending predators was not an odd thing in this group. "It appears as if you two will get along quite well." She chuckled.
Villain
Villain bowed his head deeply in respect as Orinoco introduced the other Caiman."The Pleasure is mine, Ard-Rai." He lifted his head giving a smile, tail moving to and fro.
Dima
Having grown use to another male in 'his' pond, Dima was still a bit reserved. He just had to remind himself that he'd be larger than Ard-Rai in due time, and would be bigger than the caimen if it weren't for half his tail being gone. Still, he knew that he could never produce a clutch with Orinoco, so there was no reason to be hostile with the other male.
While the three talked, Dima lay on a half-submerged pillar and basked in the sun with his jaws agape. He loved this life he had, though felt the stirring desires for some action. It had been a long time since he last fought, though his scars boasted for his prowess and determination. And, maybe a bit of luck.
Ard-Rai
Since arriving here, he had slowly watched Dima grow used to him, and had been certain to keep out of his way and to give the other no reason to dislike him. Ordinarily, he was not so accomodating, but after all, he had invaded Dima's territory. He'd dealt the first blow of insult, even if he had done it accidently. So he gave Dima a deep nod that was a greeting with a touch of respect, and then left the other male alone, turning his attention back to Orinoco and Villain. Yes, I hope one day to meet many creatures, learn their ways, their wisdom. Perhaps our friend Villain is a good place to start. Tell me, friend... on land, what earthly use is that furry tail of yours? In water, mine is a rudder, or a weapon... but on land it slows me. What purpose does yours serve?
Orinoco
Orinoco looked at Dima. "Greetings. Villain has informed that a meal will be arriving soon." She said to the gator, then turned back to Villain and Rai. The other caiman's question got her thinking. What does a wolf do with its tail? "Surely you are not made to swim as we are, so your tail must be of no use to you in the water. I often see your kind wagging their tails; why do you do that?" She did not mean this question to be a rude one, as she was only curious.
