Ynear .+. Runi

Ynear moved down the spiral stair case and into the dark depths of the basement. Inside she moved toward the sunken in middle and to the corner Tahti's pups resided in. Placing down the wolf cub with the hybrids she instructed each of the other females to put down the children as well. "None of the mothers are currently lactating other than possibly the lioness Dulsca. Are you with milk?" She asked straight out to Abyss.

Abyss, Forbidden & Foxtrot

Abyss looked at the pups momentarily, she gave Ynear a thankful look. "Yes. I might be old, but I still can raise pups." Abyss licked the pups and laid down next to them, nuzzling them close for warmth and to nurse. "Windsong has yet to bring more back. I can't care for all of them, but he knows not to bring too much. Haha." Abyss glanced at Shadi and Forbidden. "They will be warriors. The little one, he will be difficult, he is lanky but will be strong."

Nymph

An enormous ebonite paw on the stair announced the arrival of the black feline mother. She was somewhat heartened by seeing her wolf-son Hostage doing so well, but one who knew her might see the glint of worry in her silver eyes. Hostage had said that he could not find Snowfall. Her little daughter had always been the sensitive one.

But she pushed these thoughts to the back of her mind, giving Ynear a smile and letting her soft voice flow. Word on the vine says we're to have a new Mother soon, by the name of Taini. And her smile grew, for Ynear knew her well enough by now to know that when the cat said "word on the vine", she meant she'd been someplace she oughtn't to have been and heard things. The other part of the conversation she'd heard, that Taini came from Vestige's pack, where she'd been imprisoned, she kept to herself. She knew that Ynear had no love for that pack, and did not wish to color her friend's judgement of the new Mother's skills. If only the young fae had the sense to wash before she came down to assume her duties, it might all be well.

Abyss

Abyss turned to Nymph, she looked at her with a confused look. Though she quickly returned to caring for the pups.

Ynear

Ynear stepped down to the basement with two pups hanging from her jaws. They were the children of Fanta from the Lurkers. They were to never know they were from Lurker blood. She feared their lives would be in danger if they ever found out they came from the enemy line.

Placing them down she cuddle next to them. Her eyes searched Abyss and she smiled. "Not many mothers have milk. Their true parents give them their nutrients until they are old enough to come here, but we will need one with milk for those who are too young." She nodded and chuckled to herself when there was the words "too much". "Dear, there are more than enough Mothers to care for your children. You will not be alone to care. I would try to limit four pups per mother. Giving us 44 cubs to care for at a time with ease. But they usually wont give us more than 20." She nodded, not including the horse mother, for the horse mother would have to stay on the outside of the temple for the most part of the day to let the grazing children eat.

Unlike predator cubs, grazers were standing withing the first fifteen minutes of their life. They would be severely hindered if they were taken care of in a basement.

Turning to Nymph, her tail wagged in greeting then she giggled. "Yes, I have meet her and she should be down here rather soon." She looked worried almost. She didn't want the new mother to feel un-welcomed. True she knew the Haunters were a force to reckon with but the Mothers were respected and stayed out of battle.

Taini

Fortunately for her well-being, the fae had indeed washed before coming down to assume her duties, and thus no longer smelled anything like Aspen Grove. She could only hope and pray that no one would notice how much she resembled her father, Aloysious. She did allow a bit of her nervousness to show as she moved her dusty gray bod down the steps and into the room. Hello? I'm... And she had to pause to clear her throat before speaking again. ...Taini. I'm Taini. I hope... I'm not interrupting anything? A small shudder ran through her, as if she expected these motherly creatures to attack her on sight. Taini had mastered her eyes now, mastered her body, and the cloak was complete now: the young wolfess looked every inch the young thing who'd only recently escaped the torture of Vestige and Liseli's tyrannic reign.

She silenced her tremulous voice and waited, silent... hoping...

Ynear .+. Runi .+. Anathema

The black she-wolf looked up from Abyss and toward the new mother. She could see no reason not to trust the outsider. " Of course not Taini, you are welcome here. Please, come, join us." Her tone was full hearted, tail wagging in the most friendly of manner.

Moving her head around she looked around to the pups. Pointing to the stolen ones. "Here are few pups that we just rescued." She purposely failed to mention from where. "And Some of the other Haunter pups should be around here somewhere." She looked around for the third batch of Tahti's cubs, knowing they were around there somewhere.

A borzoi-wolf hybrid sat against the ledge of the pit in the middle of the room. A long thin, yet furry tail gave a few wags in greeting to the stranger. "Welcome Mother Taini. My name is Runi. We should be getting children soon, but how soon, I am not sure." She gave a soft smile before returning her gaze to the others in the small group.

A smaller black female wolf pup sat in a corner. She didn't dare participate in the group. Physically she couldn't. Instead she stared blankly toward the wall. When Taini came in, her nose went up and she sniffed the air. The only one to give off what could have been translated into a growl. But it sounded more like a buzz in her throat. "Easy Anathema..." Spoke Ynear softly. The handicap wolf soon silenced herself. Lifting up her head for a moment before resting it back down onto the cool ground. The head mother turned to the new comer. "That is Mother Anathema. She is in training with us. Barely over two months old, She has many problems with her: Blind, Mute, Deaf.. And I fear she has a breathing problem because when she moves too fast she wheezes." She said in a sorrowful tone.

Hura, Kiju and Jiju

A large white bear could be seen heading down here. Yes a polar bear. She was not one for fighting so she had asked to be a mother. She stopped at the group.I was told that this is where mothers tend to stay with the young ones.. Is this true?She felt a bit awkward being probably the largest one down here.

Kiju and Jiju the two brother peered around their mother at the other creatures.

Taini*Nymph

Taini returned the various greetings of Runi and Ynear with a smile and timid tail wave, but Hura's arrival made her eyes go wide. She skittered back against the wall, real fear showing in her eyes. Taini had only ever seen wolves in her entire lifetime, never something as large as Hura. Even as the polar bear spoke to everyone, Taini stayed back, eyeing the female with mixed curiousity and fear.

Nymph, however, was completely unconcerned with the size and species of their newcome guest, and approached Hura slowly with a vague smile on her face and a purr in her voice, as was her habit. Yes, welcome. I am Nymph.

Hura , Kiju and Jiju

She watched Taini but didn't say a word to her.She looked back at nymph.She smiled back.I am Hura, These are my Sons Kiju and Jiju I shall be helping with mothering duties I do not like fightsShe said now sitting then her eyes went to taini.Its alright i won't hurt you i may be big but im gentle

Kiju immediatly ran out and ran towards nymph and tried to tackle her.Jiju moved only to the front of his mother.

Ynear .+. Runi .+. Anathema

Ynear looked about and nodded to Hura as she descended and spoke. "Welcome Mother Hura." Her head turned to Anathema who's head lifted once again to the smell of something new. The black wolf pup stood, wobbled for a moment, and then slowly felt her way toward Ynear and laid down. Feeling she wanted to express herself, she nudged the mother wolf twice. "She is alright as well." Ynear said gently pushing Ana's muzzle. The young wolf calmed herself and laid down once again.

Ynear looked once again to the polar bear. "We are to be getting some cubs soon. Hopefully. We will take all the help we can get. And for those who do not wish to fight, this is the best duty to have." She smiled, looking to Taini. "It is alright. There are even larger animals than her in this pack, you will get use to it." She said, thinking back to the rhinos and the elephant baby.

Runi gave a playful tail wag as she watched the little cubs. They were so cute and looked fuzzy and soft.

Hura

She nodded and sat down.I shall as much as I can but at the moment my cubs still take up my priority for they will nurse for atleast a year if not longer depending on how fast they growShe spoke. Like elphant young polar bear cubs stay with their mothers for up to two years.

Jiju moved toward runi and attempted to look as big as his mother.IM JIJUHe said trying to intimidate her.

Taini*Nymph

A bit of musical laughter escaped the black feline as Kiju came to play, and she spread her back paws for balance as she reared up to pat gently at the youngster's back, purring.

As she watched the giant... things... make their way about, Taini slowly began to relax, even enough to speak softly to Hura. Forgive me. I... I've never before seen... a creature such as yourself. It was... startling.

Hura

She smiled and dipped her head.Its quiet understandable taini, I am a Polar bear you don't see many of us because we are made for the cold arctic type terrain.

He rolled over as he felt the paw and then swung his small but large paws at her.

Shadi/Tero/Leila/Taina

Shadi looked up at the bear and tilted her head. "I've never seen a white bear before." She said. "In fact, I've never seen any bear before!"

Tero, Leila and Taina, the children of Tahti and Flak, slowly left the safety of the corner to investigate the group. "Tero says we mustn't go up the stairs." Leila said to Nachi. "He says he heard that there are dragons that will eat us if we venture too close to them." Tero smiled mischievously. Anybody who spent a lot of time with him would know he liked to make up stories - or hear stories and twist them around to scare his sisters.

Foxtrot/Abyss/Forbidden/Dreamscape

Fox, Foreign and Dream all sat next to Shadi. "Yeah! It looks like its been covered in snow!" Fox yipped. Then they both shivered about dragons.

"Uh-uh! Auntie Abyss says theres hungry, giant sea monsters!" Dream countered Tero.

Hura

She smiled lightly.You won't see many of my kind I don't think. This place isn't ideal for my species seeing as its warm most of the timeShe said and yawned.

Kamari

In a leisurely manner, the hybrid daughter of Incalia and Tersek decended the set of stairs to the basement, now keen to start her mothering duties. She knew she would be needed soon, as new batches of young were soon going to be delivered.

Kamari smiled warmly as her gentle gaze swept over the other mothers and the young they were caring for. She had been looked after by these mothers, and so knew them all well. Tail wagging, Kamari approached Ynear, "Mother Ynear, I believe I am ready to start my training to become a mother. Would you teach me?"

Then she noticed Taini, and offered the other a reserved smile, and that same smile was directed to the Polar Bear mother and all the young ones. "Hello, I'm Kamari."

Rasheetah .+. Ynear .+. Anathema .+. Toki .+. Hidari .+. Runi

Moving down the stairs, Rasheetah brought her first batch to the mothers. Three cubs followed her: Toki, Hidari, and Kagura. They were the first of the cheetah cubs to be born into the Haunters, but surely would not be the least.

Moving down to the center where all the mothers were. Rasheetah stopped and nuzzled each cub. They had only just begun to walk. Enough to get off her milk. They would remember her, but vaguely, when they grew older. "Behave for the Mother's, they are to care for you. And respect your fellow siblings." With that she turned and nodded to the mothers before makign her way up the stairs and back to train the last batch of children.

Hidari snorted, her feathered fur ruffling around her mane. "So, you're to be out new parent...s huh?" She looked to Ynear, then to the others who were not feline. Moving closer to Nymph and sitting by her.

Toki looked around peacefully. "My name is Toki... and my sister's are Hidari and Kagura." He said, pointing each of them out with their name. His head turned to Taini, then Kamari. "You're kind of young to be a mother, aren't you." He quirked an invisible eye brow.

Ynear chuckled softly. "Nonsense, She is a Mother-in-Training. She will raise your children one day." she nodded, before turning to Kamari. "Mothering comes with experience. Just care for the young. Watch them, if they get to rough with each other, separate them. When they need cleaning, bathe them. When they are hungry, take left overs and bring it to them. Play with them, once they are down here, they are our children until they are adults." She gave a nod before looking to the others around her. "Same goes to you Mother Taini."

Anathema's head poked up when she felt the intensity of Hidari, She looked to the feline before wagging her tail. Then getting up and moving to the child with a stagger. Her nose was placed on the child's head and she gave off a hot breath long the creature's neck and back, attempts to sooth the hostile moment. "Who is this." Growled Hidari, "Mother Anathema." Replied Runi from across the room.

Hura,Jiju,Kiju,Kagura

Hura sat with her two cubs as they nursed and then she looked over as the cheetah came down with three cubs. Greetings young ones I am Mother Hura and these two are my sons Kiju and JijuShe said.

Jiju:He finished nursing just when they came down and he lept off of his mother and moved toward them playfully.Hello Im JIju!He said.

Kiju:He yawned.Im KijuHe said but layed down to nap. Hura turned back over onto all fours.

Kagura:She followed her siblings down and stumbled.She watched her mother.but momma I want to stay with youShe chirped and then watched her mother leave and she made to follow not wanting to be left here.

Anathema

The handicap mother heard vibrations and sensed the cub following after the mother. Instantly her head shot up from Hidari and she trotted up and nabbed Kagura's scruff and pulled her back to the middle. She had done it a little more sloppily than what a creature with sight would have done, but she was able to do it without hurting anyone.

Placing Kagura down she nudged the child with her nose before letting off suppressed air. As if to whimper, but her absent vocals did not let her do so.
