Risen .+. Wither
Risen moved down to the basement, followed closely behind by Wither, Creatures now dangling from their mouths. As Risen entered she slowed with a protective growl. Eying the Mothers in the basement then setting down three cubs: One black, One white, one metalic gray. She eyed the mothers then nuzzled each pup before turning and heading back up stairs.
As she passed Wither she examined the two pups she had brought down first. They looked healthy, a good sign, then moved past and toward the first floor of the temple.
Wither moved in with her three cubs. Settling down the two she had them making two more trips for the others. They came in sequence.
Havik, Omen; Notorious, Riot; Misery , Demolition. When she was through bringing them in, she nuzzled each and panted somewhat. "Be good children." She whispered to them. Instinct drove her to care for them. Lifting her head she turned and moved out of the room and to the upper level.
Razor was one to sneak in. A pup held in his mouth as he looked around frantically to make sure none were following. In his mouth was a tiny creature. Soundless, motionless, as if the pup were dead. He made his way close to Ynear and placed the pup down. Looking for Monarda. "Ynear, you have to make me a promise." He said sternly. The black she wolf looked at him with a puzzled look as Razor eyed the cat. His voice lowered so that only Ynear could hear. "Th-this pup is disabled, helpless, she will be killed if she is discovered. She is blind, deaf, and mute. a-" "What!?" Yipped Ynear. "Shhshh!" Growled Razor. "Please, keep care of her, don't let her secret be known, I have a feeling she may be useful one day..." He whined then nuzzled the handicap pup. Turning then moving up the stairs and out of the Mother's Nest.
Ynear sat in silence as the black pup squirmed around. It made no noise, her eyes filled with death. She was big enough to walk, but she disliked doing so. Her head looking in the direction of Nymph but she saw nothing. As the scent of her father faded, she began to bolt her nose every which way. Where had he gone? Suddenly she rose and wobbled a bit. Gaining her balance her nostrils flared and she tried to go after him. Ynear promptly grabbed her and brought her back.
As Anathema felt Ynear's grip her mouth shot open in a mute scream. A rush of air was the only sound that escaped her cursed throat.
Monarda, Bergamot, & Others
Joining with her alpha, Monarda helped to bring the whelps to the safety of the basement. To her surprise, there she had a sudden, strong desire to remain with them and protect them; but her loyalty and devotion to Risen pulled her from these instincts. Giving her own pups a gentle lick each, she filed up the stairs and out of the Mothers' lair.
Bergmot was the largest of his siblings and would turn out to be the tallest as well. While most of his body was shrouded in a mix of gray and brown, his black face looked as though it was cast in permanent shadow.
Next to him was a much smaller pup, a little female named Geinah. While her coloration lay in the bloodlines of her mother, her eyes matched up with her father's, though she had two good orbs where he had only one.
And then there was Huerosan, the largest of his litter. A rug of denser fur fitted his rottie-frame, much like that of his father, though his tail sported the thicker pelage of the Tervuren.
Coriscan
Under the orders of Cavan, Coriscan entered the forbidden room. Ears back and tail tucked to express his submission to everyone here - including the pups - the Messenger dragged a freshly killed fawn down the steps and into the Basement. Body held low, the hybrid tugged the meal a few feet from Ynear before letting it go and bowing his head, "I am sorry for disturbing you, Mother Ynear. Upon Cavan's request, we bring you food from the latest sacrfice." With a second bow, he turned and hurried up the steps again to rejoin the group for the feast.
Incalia, Ardeth and Kamari
Incalia was the last to enter, a minute or so behind Risen. With a nod to Ynear, the mother placed down two other pups.
Ardeth was a multi-toned pup, only weighing 5 pounds less than his brother.
Kamari, the smallest, but by no means weakest of Incalia's second litter with Tersek, was a deep oil black, marked like a Rottweiler. However her eyes were her father, with different colors; One hazelnut and one blue.
Incalia gave her pups a quick lick and nuzzle, before tugging herself away. If they turned out like their half-brothers, these would be the prime force of the Shadow Haunters.
Anathema .+. Violence .+. Ynear
Everything was shaking in the cursed pups mind. Though what could go through the mind of one who knew nothing but smell and feel? She looked around desperately for her father but was once again taken in by Ynear. This time the wolf began to hum, pressing Anathema against her throat so that the pup could feel the vibrations of the cords. Anathema stopped her struggle and sat lifeless like in the 'lap' of the Mother wolf. The vibrations were not aggressive but for calming, and calming is what they did for Anathema began to relax and slow herself.
Ynear lifted herself as Corsican came in. Bowing her own head in greeting to the wolf before he came and went. Next to follow was Sacrifice with a somewhat larger deer. Placing it down near the other then bowing her head and moving back up to eat with the rest of the group. Runi came down as well, the Mother had been spending time up top and heard the news of more children. She was taken aback by the sight of so many. "Oh wow.." Was all she managed to say then smiled. Moving to each of the pups and introducing herself as Mother Runi. Then moving toward the food and nibbling at it.
Ynear began to coo to all of the pups and tore open the skin on the younger fawn. Eating it for a moment and then letting it digest. Violence took the moment and began to lick the mother's jaws. Encouraging her to give up the devoured meal for their own weaker stomachs. Ynear complied and gave up her first eating then continued to eat the rest for herself. Violence moved in and began to eat the 'slop' and growl to himself. Anathema smelt food, and her siblings now. Moving toward the regurgitated food she began her own consumption-yum.
Fragile Moment, and Tumult, Children of Risen, Moved into the slop and began to growl and eat at the food. Runi finished a portion and added to the food for the pups who could not ear straight from the kill. Then began to eat the meal again for herself.
Demolition, Havik, and Riot were the first to storm over on the second offering. Chewing little, then eating. Once the piles were gone the pups moved to the food and nibbled on it a while. But their jaws were not so strong and they began to tire quickly. Moving off to rest.
Ardeth and Kamari
Both pups watched as the various pack members came and left, each only a glance as they soon disappeared back up into the Temple. Both Ardeth and Kamari yipped as Runi grew close, and stood to follow her towards the food. The slop that she produced was quickly set into by the pair, growling as the others swarmed their 'prey'. Once it was gone, they both attmepted to eat the meat straight from the carcass, but soon tired of it.
Remembering that both mothers probably wouldn't know her name, Kamari decided it would be nice to introduce herself, as she had already learned her name. Bounding towards Ynear with the spirit of youth, she pounced on the mother, tail wagging and growling playfully. "My name's Kamari, and that lump over there" she directed her muzzle towards her brother, "is my brother, Ardeth. Who are you?"
Ardeth, being the more unsociable of the two, slunk over towards one of the walls and joined the many pups who had fallen to the sweet song of sleep.
Nymph
With the ease and grace of all feline things, Nymph moved forward and set about slicing the deer into peices, soon setting up several separate feeding stations where the pups could eat and not be crowded. A deep purr set in her throat as she too began to work through the crowd, placing a nuzzle here and a deft paw there to guide the children so that there was enough room for everyone to eat. AS she went, she introduced herself much as Runi had, only as Mother Nymph instead. Once she had made a circuit of the crowd, she came back up near Ynear and Runi, curling up lazily, eyes on Runi. So, you are Runi. Nymph. My pleasure, I'm sure. The words might have almost been brusque if there hadn't been the purr at the back of her throat to warm it.
She wasn't being cruel, exactly... but she wasn't really talkative until she had gotten to know someone. Ynear was, by now, an old friend, with whom she had raised pups before. Runi... would take some getting used too. But Nymph's face was kind enough, and she smiled up at Runi before turning to wash herself. I take it you've been up top? Have you seen my kits, Hostage and Snowfall? Are they well?
Hector/Sekunti
Hector led his shy sister down into the basement. It was so...dark. Still, he knew he had to follow Risen's orders. He sat at the bottom of the stairs and yipped. "I was told to come down here..."
Sekunti peered out from behind her brother.
Black Ivory .+. Owl
The black coy-wolf pup skipped down the stairs and ended by her brother Hector. She stared strongly to the creatures who resided in the under basement. Then nodded her head to Hectors words then moved further into the room. She was old enough to eat meat, unlike the other pups, and so she began to gnaw at the fawns carcass.
Owl moved in slowly, hissing at his sister with no vocals. "Ivory! You don't know if that's for you!" Whined the brown pup. "I'm not being stopped am I?" Soured the female. Owl could only sigh and move around the adults. Bowing his head; "Sorry, I'm really sorry. Really." He said as he crept past and toward the middle of the room. Sitting against the one foot wall of the middle and looking to the rest of his 'family'. "So many of us.." He whispered to himself.
Ynear .+. Runi .+. Violence
Ynear had finished her meal when she moved over to rest it off. Keeping a peaceful eye on the new pups who seemed to be a little more well behaved than the last feisty bunch. She let out a relaxed sigh as Kamari jumped upon her. Giving a small shake of surprise and then a wag of her tail in greeting. "Well met Kamari. I am Mother Ynear. Can you tell me who your parents are?" She asked gently, cooing the the child.
Anathema moved around sniffing the ground and air. Smelling the food she began to bump it with her nose then moved over to Nymph and accidentally bumped into her back. Realizing it was not the wolf her father had given her to, she moved back and opened her mouth as if to speak but said nothing. Slowly she looked in the direction of Nymphs face, but her eyes were set more toward her shoulder. Then she began to wobble back over to the familiar Mother. As she grew close, Ynear gripped the pups scruff and placed her near her chest. The black pup soon ceased her motions and closed her useless eyes. Falling asleep near the Mother.
Violence growled from his sleep then awoke. Looking around to the four new pups now. Staring each of them in the eyes before standing and waddling over to Ardeth and pouncing on his belly.
Runi bowed her head to the large cat and spoke back in a softer tone. "Tis be a pleasure. Nymph." She listened to the cats questions. "I have seen Hostage, he looks fine and strong. I believe Snowfall is his sister. I did not see her before I came down here but I'm sure she is just out playing." She smiled then moved around to lay down with the children. Wagging her extra long borzoi tail before settling to a relaxed state.
Nymph
She let her most benevolent smile light her face, her soft voice carrying a hint of purr. That is well enough. My Hostage was always a strong one, even as a kit. I only hope little Snowfall has developed some courage. Well, maybe Runi would not be so bad.
She turned toward the new-coming pups, a smile lighting her face. Hello, little ones.
Omen, Notorious, Misery
The three pups were still sitting there through all of that, looking around the place. Not too shabby... Notorious thought to himself, slowly easing to his paws before bolting off to the nearest plot of mushy meal. That's where he sat next, sniffing at the portions. Hunger was exactly reining heavy on his mind at the moment. He was more interested in everyone else rather that what he would eat for lunch next.
Omen gave a sigh, a bit grumpy looking to say the least. However, he stood as well, following after his brother and leaving Misery behind. Then he aimed to tackle Notorious, and succeeded in pinning him down, almost knocking him right into the pile of mush that had been right in front of him. The two youngsters engaged in play battling, little snarls and growls ringing out, paws and tails batting everywhere.
Misery, on the other hand, shook her head and stood up. She began looking around the temple, her nose to the floor and sniffing intently. She looked just like a replica of her mother Wither, a small spitting image, save for a couple differences. She continued to scout around the floor, avoiding everyone else as she circled around them. She could finally put her nose to good use.
Ardeth and Kamari
Kamari grinned, lifting her head in pride, "I am the daughter of Tersek and Incalia." She barked, her tail gently wagging. Tipping her head to the side, the smile faded as she tried to imitate the mother. "Who are your parents? Do you have any brothers and sisters?"
Ardeth, who had been minding his own business, growled as he was pounced on by Violence. Sliding out from beneath the other pup, he stood tall, looking the other right in the eye. "My name's Ardeth, Son of Tersek and Incalia, Who are you?"
Hector/Sekunti
Hector, who didn't like to be left out of anything, joined in on the introductions. He waited until a quiet time and then spoke. "I am Hector, son of Razor and Tahti." He barked happily, nudging his siblings.
Sekunti knew what her brother wanted her to do, but she didn't like it. "But what if--" She began. The larger coywolf cut her off. "The mothers won't let anything happen to you." The brother said. Sekunti nodded in acknowledgment. "I-I'm his sister, Sekunti." She hoped that nobody would find out that her mother had bred without permission. If everybody followed the rules, she and her siblings would not exist.
Nymph
Permission or no permission, Nymph loved all the kits. So she moved forward to the newcomers, a smile on her face and a purr in her voice. And I am Mother Nymph, little ones. Welcome.
