Arya and Dakota
Arya was enjoying her freedom, but now she had to be serious. It was clear that she was the leader here and would do her best. She turned to Dakota. You can hunt, right? She asked, and immeadiately felt embarrased. What kind of question was that? She looked at the other wolfess. Ok, I consider us a pack now. As a pack, we have to hunt together and protect eachother. That means, She looked straight at the wolfess, that we are all going to have to be brave.
At her question, Dakota looked at her, her expression saying, "duh!". She licked her paw and laid down. How she hated being a mute! Always using your expressions, and never to talk again! he had forgotten what her voice had sounded like. She shook her head, trying to remember. She was lucky to have a friend like Arya. She listened to what Arya was saying, and if she could, she would have laughed. But, she didn't and was quiet.
*Dogs & Wolfess*
The wolfess looked down guiltily, her ears laced back and pressed together. She couldn't find anything to say to Arya's words. But as she sat there, she fancied there was a barking in the distance. "Did you hear that..." The wolfess questioned, her head coming up now and her ears cocking forward.
The barking grew louder now, and words could be hear. "I knew I smelled them! This way!" Cried one voice, ringing strong and loud. "I knew they wouldn't have gotten far. Stupid wolves!" Came a second voice, baying sharp in the air. Several more distinct voices could be heard, mostly chanting one thing, Wolf.
The wolfess looked utterly terrified now as she turned to Arya and Dakota, "Oh, they've tracked us! What now?!?" She looked ready to flee at any moment.
Arya and Daktoa
Run! You go the one way, and dart through and run through water. Make a fight. She whispered and darted off.
Dakota followed, but darted through some trees and kept a distance away from Arya, but so she could see her. She looked at a creek ahead and glanced at Arya. She saw her nod back and they ran across. The creek water was running rapidly.
Arya prayed for the wolfess; she always gave up.
*Dogs & Wolfess*
The wolfess nodded faintly, as if she wasn't paying much attention to Arya's words. Her head seemed to be spinning and all she could focus on were the dogs' barking, getting closer and closer. As Arya and Dakota took off, the wolfess sprung too. But in her panic, she went a different way and completely missed the rushing creek.
The dogs stopped where the three wolves had just been, their tails up and noses to the ground, "They're very close." One muttered, trying to figure out which way they went. "They'll be sorry when our masters get them."
The largest of the dogs shook his head, "I'm not too sure about that. Someone from the Wolf Center spoke with our masters just before we were sent out. These three might be going there."
The previous dog shook his head, "Too bad; we could have had some fun with them."
The leader grinned, "We still might be able too... it seems they have split up. Our masters will be happy enough with two wolves. We'll have our fun with the third." The dogs, five in all, had discovered each wolf's scent trail. Two went after Arya, two after Dakota, and one after the nameless fae.
Upon reaching the creek, the dogs found that the trail was lost. They began to search the opposite bank, trying to locate their quarry...
Meanwhile, five humans sprinted along, trying to keep up with the quicker dogs. They had dartguns with them.
Arya and Daktoa
Arya and Dakota were deep in the woods. They were happy that they had lost them. But soon, they came to an old human building and went inside. It was cold and they could see their breaths. It was a great hiding spot, but four wolves after them could mean trouble. She glanced at Dakota. Scratch at the ground. I'm going to see if there is a back way. I'll help you fight them. She said confidently even though she was sure that they would be tough. She shook her head and left Dakota alone. Soon she came to a crack just the size of a medium sized dog. Arya, being skinny, slipped through. She ran back to Dakota. I found a back way. Follow me. Dakota was able to slip through as well and they came back, ready for what was to face them.
*Dogs & Humans*
It wasn't long before the four dogs picked up on the wolves' trail once more and headed off in that direction. Their deep, baying cries told the humans which way to go, although the two-leggers were a good deal behind at the moment.
The four dogs came upon the ancient stone house and padded quitely inside, their breaths steaming in the air as well while their eyes scythed this way and that. "Ah, we've found our quarry." The largest of the group said. These dogs were a wolfhound mix, and they were all siblings of the same litter. They began to close in on Arya and Dakota, their heads lowered and their fangs glistening. "Our masters weren't too happy to see you escaped." The lead went on in a menacing tone, getting closer and closer to the two.
Arya and Daktoa
Ayra snarled and got low to the ground, ready to turn around and sprint out. Wasn't our fault your masters are so dim witted. She said and smirked. She showed total aggresion. She nodded to Dakota, who turned and ran out. See ya losers! Arya said and slipped out of the crevice. Being a wolfhound mix, they would be too fat. But that was too close.
Soon they came back to the old creek. Arya went in the water and out of the water, so to distract them. Dakota, a good distance down from her, did the same. Arya ran up the creek, and soon came to a strong current. She hopped out and shook. A few minutes later, Dakota was there. They were panting with exhaustion. A half a mile sprint all the way through the water. They were still alert.
*Dogs & Humans*
When the wolves retreated, the leader sprung forward with a great snarl. He plunged into the crevice, but as Arya had already noted, he was too big to fit through. The leader struggled and thrashed about, but found himself thoroughly stuck and very embarrassed to say the least. "Split up! Track them!" He demanded furiously, unable to do anything himself.
The other three hesitated before retreating from the temple and circling around it to pick up on the wolves' trail and split up to cover more ground.
It was the sister in the group who found their trail now. But by now, she was out of earshot of not only the humans, but her two brothers as well. Padding stealthily along, the dog slowed as she spotted the two wolves, "You're quite the masters of your craft. But you know, sooner or later, you'll be caught." The hound began, although she had stopped walking and stood defensively. She didn't want to take on two wolves, afterall. Then, an idea came to her. What if she got these wolves to the Wolf Center on her own? She'd have all the glory...
"But you're right... our masters aren't the brightest of creatures. And neither are my brothers." She was trying to get on their side now, or at least sound like she was on their side. "Would you help me play a trick on them?"
Arya and Daktoa
Arya looked at her suspiciously and took a step towards her. It was mainly to threat, but she was listening. What do you want? She said a little harshly. She took a deep breath and glanced at Dakota, who also came close. They wouldn't kill the dof but they would hurt her if she led the humans there. They weren't the kind to kill anyone they wanted too, and the dog could probably see that.
*Dog*
She stood her ground, but grudginly let her head fall down to show she didn't mean harm to them. "My masters will be here any moment. I can lead you to this place... they'll never find you there, I promise." The hound said, her voice secerative. As she spoke, she'd glance back frequently, as if expecting her masters to arrive at any second. She knew they were very far behind her, but she was hoping to make the wolves nervous and more willing to follow her. "Will you come with me?"
Arya and Dakota
Arya looked at the dog with a blank expression. She smelled the air. Nothing. She tilted her head to hear. Nothing but the waters in the creek. I would rather kill your masters than run. She said, showing her sharp teeth. She wasn't one to kill, but this dog wouldn't know her personality.
Dakota snorted through her nose and nodded her head along with Arya. She too, wouldn't kill anyone for fun, but surely the dog wouldn't know because she couldn't talk. She kept her ears alert, listening...
*Dog*
She tried to stiffled the anger that threatened to boil over in her words, and managed her next sentence with a trace of a snarl, "And I would rather just do my job and hand you over to them. Listen, you can't possibly hope to kill them. They have weapons that will strike you down long before you could reach them. I'm giving you an offer to escape from them... and humiliate them at the same time." Her words began to calm down a bit now as she wrestled to control herself once more. "If you want any revenge on them, than this is the way. Hurt their pride; it stings them worse than your fangs can."
In the distance, there was a sharp, pained cry. It was from a wolf. But still, the humans could not be heard.
Arya and Daktoa
Arya rolled her eyes but listened intently. She turned to Dakota, who had an emotionless face. She sighed. All right, dog. Let's do it. Tell us the plan. Then she heard the sound of a wolf's cry. Her eyes grew wide. The wolfess... She muttered and sighed.
Dakota couldn't beleive Arya. What happened to being tough and showing her that they could kill? She held an emotionless face, lost in thought. She heard the vry and sat down, now faced with the reality of being caught. She looked at Arya with a fearful face.
*Dog*
Perfect. The fea thought, hiding her devious joy behind a serious facade. "I'm going to lead you by this seculded area... just stay quiet and follow me. I'll explain more once we get there..." Smirking inwardly, the hound headed for the Brick Building of the Wolf Center.
