*Pheral*

An very massive pig sow was making her way across the stone-strewn land. She weighed an impressive 610 lbs and stood and on relatively lengthy legs. Her ears were partially erect and four scythe-like tusks adorned her mouth. Her coat was thick and coarse, and a black-blue color wih two white 'socks' on the hind legs. Her impressive size and lengthy legs were mainly due to her Poland China blood. The Arapawa Island and wild boar breeds were also in her, among others. The gigantic swine was a fluke of her kind, and a creature that certainly demanded respect.

She was an escapee from ship that had been blown off coarse and grounded ashore nearly three hundered miles south of Orca Bay. Her journey here is a whole nother story. For around three years after her escape, she lived just outside of the Valley, but was almost captured once more by humans. She fled into the Valley, finding herself now in a place that didn't reek of humans. Although the smell of blood was very strong.

Now the huge swine began to root around for food. But her acute senses were very well atuned to her surroundings, and she stayed away from the tall trees and stones where large cats may try to pounce from. But there is a keen intelligence about her... perhaps she has far more to offer while alive, rather than as a meal...

Ice

Cougar brute had been here only a few hours ago, but he had left to hunt with some of his pack. But now he was just in search of anyone he could find. Nares widened as they caught the scent of the pig. Peds brought him to a fallen log that was a little ways from the sow. He emitted a soft growl towards her, he showed no agression though. Ice knew that he wouldnt be able to take the boar down, not himself anyways, but maybe if he brought her to the packlands... Oh well he thought, might as well make peace.

Pheral

The large sow turned at the sound of the growl, her eyes narrowing just slightly as a snort was given. But she was rightly confident in her abilities of defense against Ice, and so no real agression was shown. Besides, she could see he too wasn't giving her such signs. "You're the first cougar I've met since entering this valley." She spoke out lightly, rasing her low-held head and quivering her nose. "You've been here recently." She pointed out next, for her sense of smell was extremely superb.

Her dark eyes bored into the feline, studying him and trying to figure out what his intent might be. She also looked for any injuries he might carry. Her knowledge of healing plants was one of her greatest atributes. But she knew just as much, or perhaps more, about the ones that could cause madness, dilusion, agony, and death. And that was just a touch of the capabilities held within her mind.

Ice

Bits of hair were missing from the sides of his neck, teeth marks were stretched done his hind and from just behind his auds to his shoulder blades ran talon marks, his nose was also cut a little bit. Dried blood covered his body.

He nodded as she pointed out that he had just been there recently. "Well are I special, and yes I have been here there was a fight between my pack and a few others. But its over and done with now." He hoped down from the log and took a few steps towards the sow. "I'm Ice by the way, I belong to a wolf pack, Opake mountain pack to be more percise." He sat down and licked his paw then cleaned off the dried blood from his nose.

Pheral

She snorted, but there was no real maliciousness or sarcasm intended; just a reaction to his words. The sow grew interested in the talk of a pack, and especially of wolves. Cougars and wolves were natural enemies she knew; but scent told her that Ice was telling no lie. And indeed she had heard talk of such alliances, as well as others, in this Valley and other lands.

"Pheral is my name." she replied, her eyes studying the wounds he carried. "And if you're interested, I know of ways to heal those wounds faster. And ease the pain." She paused a bit, then offered more, "Hearing as you fued with other... packs; I also know of poisons." Being in a new valley, especially one with packs of wolves and cougars, the sow knew she needed more protection than she and her tusks alone could provide. She needed to make some friends out of powerful animals, like Ice. Hoping to entice him further, she added on, "There is more I can offer you. I know more about humans and their ways than just about any one else I've met."

Ice

Ice listened silently as she talked of remidies and posions. He studied her tusks and knew that she could kill even him with enough power and right angles. "Well Pheral, if you wish, come to my pack lands, and if one should attack you, I will hurt them."Brute offred her. "As well you could show me these ways to heal wounds, and poisons." Standing up he walked a couple paces forward towards the sow, she wasnt quite as big as him but pretty darn close.

Pheral

This offer was unexpected but definitely to her liking. She had been alone for quite some time, and would benefit from the company; even if it were't her own species. "I like the prospects. Promise to help protect me, and I shall do the same for you. As well as show you what I know." Pheral responded, though the thought of trickery lingered in the back of her mind; but Ice seemed like one to be trusted... she went with her gut instinct on this one. "Just lead me to your pack lands, and I will find what I need to help your wounds."

Ice

Brute nodded then began to walk slowly towards the packlands, though he had befriended the sow, he didnt quite trust anyone behind him."Alright, follow me" He began his walk back to the opake mountains packlands.

Pheral

She nodded and began to follow after Ice. This was her first alliance with any animal since entering the Valley, and she was pleased with the outcome. Tilting one ear back and keeping the other forward, she followed after the cougar.
