Ursa
Ursa had been nursed back to health however lately she been depressed. Hqving seen her sister raise a family despite there fathers disposition. She grew tired of having to rely on others to survive. She didnt have momos confidence and determination to have pups. Let alone she didnt want a child of her own to suffer like she does. Ursa hasnt touch food for the past three days. The meat was spoled to her right
Blackmist
"Ursa?" Blackmist's soft voice paired with the quiet thump of approaching paws. The black and gray wolfess approached slowly, with her nose curling at the stench of spoiling meat that lay uneaten beside her friend. "Ursa, is everything okay?" She sat down beside the other, taking a moment to groom a bit of Ursa's fur before tilting her head back to listen to anything the other had to say. She'd noticed a deterioration in the wolf's attitude recently, despite her physical ailments improving. When Quilikahm had no explanation for her, Blackmist had decided to take it upon herself to investigate.
Ursa
Sure she knew some cared but others she knew hated her and momo believing thier just a waste of space. She just laid there even when mist came over. ,"death is better then tjis life" was all she said
Blackmist
She folded her limbs and rested beside Ursa, sharing some of her warmth with the other. "Ursa..." Black's expression furrowed and she tilted her ears back, saddened and alarmed by her friend's words. "What makes you say that?" She had an inkling of what might be bothering the wolfess, but wanted to be sure she was on the right track before saying anything more.
Ursa
Ursa did not move an inch.whats the point in my life? There nothing for me. All i am is a burden on the others I can barely even eat or talk. Father wishes i was dead. He may of given into momo's wishs especially after this first litter of hers but momo is not as badly deformed as me. There is no point to me livingShe esaid.
Ursa
She snorts. but momo isn't as deformed as I. She is confident and determined which i am notShe saidI slur my words, I cannot hunt I barely can eatShe said.what do I want? To be normal, to have a mate, to have pups but I will never have any of thatShe said.
Blackmist
Blackmist lowered her dial, feeling a touch of helplessness when it came to fixing what was ailing her friend. She couldn't get her tail back, or fix her poor vision. And she couldn't guarantee Ursa a family; Tersek would almost certainly put his paw down on that. The wolf didn't let defeat show in her vocals though, and kept them spirited as she responded to Ursa, "I may not be able to help you with that, but surely there are other things in life that you crave?" Black thought for a moment before smiling, "How about your sense of smell; I know your eyes are bad, but I bet you can smell things better than anyone else in the pack, if you really put your mind to it. Maybe you can join me on my next patrol, and we'll see if we can track down that funny scent that was found with Narimbi and Duality?"
Ursa
She did not move. "Those are the only things i crave. Tracking things is interesting but not enough to make me want to live"
Blackmist
She gently nudged her snout against Ursa's shoulder, attempting to get some movement out of the other, and coax her out of her depression. "I know it hurts, but it doesn't help to dwell on things that are past your grasp. How about you try just a patrol or two with me, and see how it goes? You never know, you might actually enjoy it, especially if we can track down whatever killed our friends." In the back of her mind, there was one nagging solution that had crept up, but Blackmist didn't want to even foster that thought.
Ursa
She snorted.Yah track them down that all i can do, im not interestedShe said closing her eyes.
Blackmist
Ursa seemed to close up even more, despite Blackmist's best effort. But the she-wolf was not to be deterred so easily. "How do you know, if you've not tried it? How about I make you a deal." She offered this, and gave a pause to let Ursa consider her words. "You come with me on at least one patrol, and if you still hate it, I..." And here, her words softened into a whisper. She didn't want anyone but Ursa to hear her suggestion. "...I may have a way for you to start your own family."
Ursa
Ursa was listening as she laid there.oh so only if i hate it right. I will hate it because patroling is boring if i can't have pups I want to be able to fight to hunt not just say hey there they are that way. But no im not allowed to do anything but sit here and be fed and treated like a baby because i can't do anything myselfShe said with a snorted. Sure her deal was enticing but no patroling, it a fun past time perhaps but to be only of use to track someone down and not be able to do anything about it herself..... if that was all she was good for then her life was worthless.
Blackmist
"You haven't even tried it yet." Blackmist pointed out with patience, knowing that arguing with Ursa wouldn't be productive with her state of mind. "I think if you were to talk with Senka or Tersek, and prove that you're capable of at least patrolling, they would let you go try out on hunts as well. And who knows - maybe we'll actually come across something on this patrol, and we'll get to fight something." That 'something' was a human, at least in Blackmist's mind, and guns aside, she was confident the pair of them could down a human if they came across it. Again she gave Ursa a nudge, a gentle touch against the base of her neck, "Come on Ursa, you have to at least try. Laying around here moping all day will do you no good."
Ursa
She snorted. "Terserk wont allow it and you know it. The only use i am for him is a pawn to be used if we are attacked. I am the weakest here and i will be the last one here anyone would come to safe " she said. "Fine if i go you show me how i can get a mate and feauture pups as you said before" she didnt care if black was only offering that if she didnt like patrolling it would be the only way shed even try it
Blackmist
Hearing this, a frown darkened the wolf's features and a firmness toned her vocals. "You and I can agree that your father is rough around the edges, but we also know that he'd never sacrifice any Haunter, no matter their condition. Remember, he's the one who went against the humans themselves to get back Momo, whom he didn't even want to breed." After she reminded her aunt of this, Black's frown lessened and she rose to her paws. "Not too loudly now, we don't want anyone hearing about that part of the deal."
Ursa
She snorted "but if he had to chose say you or me hed choose you" she said. "I dont care who knows that im looking for a matr. I will not hide having one either"
Blackmist
She stood up now, with a quick stretch of her forelimbs and a hearty shake of her black and gray coat. Though she wasn't sure how much this might improve Ursa's outlook on life, spending some time away from the Temple ought to be good for the crippled wolf.
"I know that you're defiant about this-" Blackmist kept her vocals low, and spoken patiently still, "-but Ursa, if your father or the others find out about it, you'll get in trouble. And so will I." She gave a furtive glance around, just to make sure they had no prying eyes or unwelcomed ears trained on them. "Just keep it quiet for now, okay?"
Ursa
Ursa snorted. " i dont care if i get in trouble" she said. "I wont tell them you helped" she said. "Fine"
Blackmist
Blackmist forced a smile and a few encouraging sways of her dark tail. "You may not, but I do. You're my friend, Ursa. Despite what you might think, we care what happens to you." She bestowed a lick to the side of Ursa's neck before nodding towards the moat. "I'll take us to where they last picked up the scent." The wolfess began a slow lope towards the moat, and from there, out to the foothills of the Croal Mountains.
