Victoria

Victoria had been feeling a bit off of late and the wolfess had an inkling of why. She was searching for Black Twilight to inform the male. The black and white coated girl had no clue on how he would take it and what it would mean for them, but she knew what it meant for her. She was going to be a mother! It was obvious by the gleam in her gold soul gates and wagging of her tail that she was excited. She informed other members that passed her that she was searching for the brute, if they happened to ask what she was doing, but she wouldn’t tell them why. Soon she grew tired and settled down under a tree near the temple to wait. The light summer heat felt nice and she was certain that Twilight would find her. She had already begun to put on weight and wouldn’t be surprised if others started to guess.

Black Twilight

A few minutes after Victoria had laid down to rest, Twilight appeared. He almost missed her at first, heading off in a different direction as he padded swiftly along the stony ground, but after glancing to the side, he spotted the female and immediately changed course. "Victoria!" He woofed light as he drew closer to her, "Monarda said you were looking for me...?" The space under the tree was further occupied when Black Twilight sat down near Victoria, looking at her with curiosity in his light yellow eyes. Monarda had caught him a few minutes ago, after the older wolf had been one of the few to question Victoria and learn that she was looking for him. What Monarda hadn't said, however, was that she suspected Victoria was pregnant. For as intelligent as Twilight was, that thought hadn't crossed his mind at all, and was far from his thoughts now as he waited for her response.

Victoria

Victoria glanced up when she heard her name being called. Black Twilight was headed in her direction and she smiled when he got closer. Nothing could dampen her mood, even if the male said he wanted nothing to do with the pups. She waited until he settled down next to her and told her that Monarda had informed him of her search for him. Yes. I, I mean we, are going to have puppies! Still grinning she waited for a response.

Black Twilight

It took a few seconds for the real impact of her statement to hit Black Twilight. In a pack where puppies were often born and turned over to the Mothers, he never really considered what it would be like to raise a little family himself, and so he was caught completely off guard by what Victoria had to share with him. The silence was broken by a sudden wagging of his tail, and the blossoming of a smile over his muzzle, "Pups... are you.. sure?" It wasn't nervousness or anxiety that made him ask this; it was excitement!

Victoria

Excitement coursed through her as she waited for a response. The one she got was the one that Victoria had hoped for. Smiling she nodded to show that she was sure. Yes, we're going to be parents. I wanted to let you know before everybody else started finding out. I'm glad your okay with this... She said knowing that most males would shove the pups off on the females. Victoria touched her muzzle to his neck and nuzzled him to show that she was pleased. When she pulled away she waited for a response to her words.

Black Twilight

Twilight's tail was swaying with such liveliness that his whole back end was moving along with it. In a further display of his excitement and joy, he gave Victoria a lick on the side of the muzzle, after she'd reached forward to embrace him. "I'm more than okay with this." He confirmed with a flourishing smile, then faltered a little as a thought crossed his mind, "Are you hungry? I can go get you some food. Or, is there anything else you need?" Perhaps he was a little too wound up about this, but his heart was definitely in the right place.

Victoria

Victoria grinned at him when he licked the side of her muzzle. His okay washed away all of her worries and she knew that her pups would have a wonderful father. His questions of her wanting food or needing anything warmed her heart. I don't need anything right now. Her words were soft as she laid her head across his nape, her own tail wagging once or twice. Just you. She sighed in content, enjoying his company and the fact that he knew and accepted their future. I can't wait to tell Senka. The news should bring happiness among all the awful news and prospect of a battle. She added as an after thought and there was a hint of fear in her voice when she said battle.

Black Twilight

After Victoria declared no need for food right now, Twilight brought his head around to rest against her neck, so that the two of them were left in an embrace. 'Just you.' Those two simple words echoed in his mind and stirred his heart even more, and at this moment, the wolfdog couldn't remember being any happier than he was right now. That bliss was marred by the reality check that Victoria brought up, causing Twilight to close his eyes briefly, "Little ones will be a welcome sight around here. And once Senka knows, she'll surely have you stay back at the Temple when the attack starts." There was a short pause, "You'll be safe there."
