Keme | Hakan

Hakan and I move into this new place and I pause I couldn’t help but let me blue gaze drift over the ruins. Father had spoken of this place so often. There was once a fairly vicious pack that roamed here Shadow something. Hunter I think. Shadow Hunters that’s it. But judging by the over growth no one had passed through here in sometime. I feel a sadness touch my heart. Grandfather whom was an elder in the pack, but still strong, had gone missing two years into my four years of life. Him and my great uncle Azul as well. Azul and White Noise had led the little pack of misfits through some rough times. Both souls harboring deep and painful wounds in their hearts. She wasn’t sure what her grandfather’s was, but for Azul it was loosing Moon Spirit the love of his life. She had been told the story of the escape attempt for the wolf preserve and how it had all gone so wrong. She wish she had gotten to know her great aunt. For that matter knowing who her grandmother was would be a great start. Maybe that is why we are here me and Hakan, Azul’s son. To piece our lives back together. We had left out pack in the middle of the night to come here. Remembering the way from the stories we listened to as pups. It took us a year to travel and here we stood. I felt homesick, but I had to know what happened to Azul and me grandpa. It was rumored the humans from a lab here and hunted them down and taken them back. Who knows. I left my regal skull and whine a little to Hakan who was but a few paces in front of me. I was tired and the ruins offered some great shelter.

" Secrets of the Heart. "

I had been picking my way through the ruins slowly. I remembered the stories as well of the pack that once roamed here many years back. I had no intention of staying the night here. Even if it looked like no one had lived here in years who knew what was really lurking out there. I turn about cause I could feel Keme’s warmth drift away from mine. I glance over my shoulder and see her staring into the ruins she looks so lost and sad and I hit with a homesick feeling as well. But we were 4 years of age it had come time for us to leave our pack. Though we had a strange pack harboring some secret that burned inside Hakan. He wished he could tell it to Keme just seeing her like this made him hurt. I turn back to my walking hand only back a few paces when I hear the gentle whimper. I sigh and turn to her. I can see in her eyes just how tired she really is. "Come on Keme can‘t you wait till we are somewhere safer?"

Tersek

From the shadows of the temple ruins, a pair of cold, dual-toned eyes peered out at the brother and sister duo. After a few minutes of observing the siblings, Tersek stepped out from where he'd been resting on the cool stone floor and sauntered to the edge of the moat that surrounded the temple. The large wolfdog, bristling with muscle and carrying himself like a leader, raised his grizzled head and peered at the two across the span of water that separated them. "We don't often get visitors around here." Tersek rumbled in a deep voice that was neither inviting nor particularly aggressive. But it did carry authority and strength, and judging by his stance, the gray-brown canine was a proud one use to being listened to. Are they siblings, or mates? The thought crossed his mind as he watched them, unable to tell right away because the wind was not in his favor. He also couldn't tell if they were alone or not, so to be on the safe side, Tersek remained on his side of the moat and waited to see how these two would react to him.

Keme | Hakan

I was still staring at Keme when movement caught my yellowish eyes. I reacted quickly covering the gap between me and Keme with easy even in the rocky terrain. I stood before obviously bristled out and ready for anything. My yellow gaze fell upon the male that made his appearance upon the rocky ledge and I was glade for the water separating us. I stood over Keme protectively I didn’t care if she liked it or not it was my nature. I had seen Keme take down a buck by herself she was no huntress to tangle with, but still I felt like I needed to protect her from other males. She was my cousin after all. I was no seasoned warrior and this male had a way of holding him self that spoke authority and most likely he fought to earn that authority. I wasn’t in the position to start a brawl and my body language was defensive, but unchallenging in anyway. I decided to talk my vocals a deep baritone surprising giving my air and the way I looked you would think I would be more high pitched. We are just passing through. Just weary travels looking for a place to rest

I smelt the male before I saw him and before I could even get my tiara turned in his direction Hakan was over me protectively and I gave a soft growl hopefully only Hakan could hear. I hated when he acted like this. I was big girl and more then able to care for myself. I mean seriously you might be my cousin and more like my brother, but sometimes I swore he acted like my mate instead. I watched the male on the other side of the water my blue gaze striking again my pale white fur. I heard Hakan he was being civil good. The it occurred to me the way the brute spoke and held himself. Could it be was he one of the Shadow Hunters my grandpa and great uncle had talked about? I suddenly shoved passed Hakan. I knew he would fuss later, but I had to ask a few paces only. I didn’t want to be outta Hakan reach if I needed help. “Are you a Shadow Hunter?” I am sure it obvious we are not from these lands. So how would an outsider know of this pack he was sure to wonder. I had an eager look to my eyes. Maybe finding those we loved wouldn’t be too hard. I glanced back to Hakan though I was totally attuned to the male.

Tersek

Tersek's once thick, robust winter coat was looking a little on the shaggy side now that spring was underway and summer was soon to emerge. His grizzled coat was looking a little patchy here and there, with tufts of old winter fur on the verge of falling out. Yet still, the battle-hardened wolf looked solid of muscle and the thinner, summer fur beneath the ruffled winter one was shining with health. "If you're looking only for a place to rest tonight, be sure you stay on your side of the moat then." He said, speaking of the deep ring of water that encircled the Ruins and acted like a physical border to define the heart of the Haunter's territory. Though his statement didn't seem to be the friendliest, Tersek didn't say it in an ugly way, nor did he react hostilely to either of the cousins. Their body language spoke nothing of aggression, and in return, he respected Hakan's defensiveness with Keme. 'Hmm, they must be mates. I'd th-' The hybrid's thoughts were interrupted by Keme's surprising question. "I am. How do you know about us?" Surely they weren't from the Valley, or they would have known that this was the terra of the Shadow Haunters. But if they weren't from the Valley... how did they know his pack's name?

Keme | Hakan

My question was answered. I couldn’t help, but feel some relief at it either. My bright blue eyes seemed to shine even brighter. Even as tired as I was. I glanced back again at Hakan and any happier I would have cried. But I kept the emotions under control. “From my grandpa and my great uncle. White Noise and Azul. I believe a long time ago they were allies, well, before…..” I drop my tone and the gaze that was once locked with his also slips to the waters before her. I pull myself together just enough to sit down so no one would notice I was shaking a little. I wanted to rush back to Hakan and celebrate, but this was just one step into her journey. Who was her grandmother, Noise had never told her. Said it was too painful for him. Azul, wouldn’t talk of her or his former love either. That night at the wolf preserve must have been terrible. I suddenly needed Hakan’s strength. Me the huntress that has done so much and stood on her own for so many years needed his strength. If only she knew.

Keme’s soft growl reach my ears that tilted in her directions. Always had to be the big girl. Why couldn’t she let someone protect her. He looked at her he wanted to tell her so bad that they weren’t cousins, but siblings. How he had come across the info pained him to this day. I step forward sensing something from her a need I think. We were twins after all. But Azul could not bear to look upon Keme she was the spiting image of Moon Spirit the love he lost all those years ago. I rub my shoulder against hers. My yellow tinted gaze lifts back to the male. Keme here is my cousin. I am the son of Azul and she is the daughter of White Noise. Two years ago our parents went missing. We heard of their stories about this place the good and the bad. We hoped to find some answers here. White Noise spoke very highly of this pack.

Tersek

White Noise. Azul. Both names were familiar to him, but not very concrete in his mind; he had been a young creature when they were last seen in this Valley, and he'd spent so much of his early days squabbling and rough-housing with the others his age, and trying to prove himself in the large pack, that he didn't have much attention to pay for the older members or allies. But now, their names rekindled some memory in the grizzled brute. "Their name rings a bell with me." He watched Keme's reaction, which the female kept muted and under control - but was there just a hint of excitement that Tersek picked up from her? "Well Hakan, Keme.. I'm Tersek, son of Vicious and Twilight Beauty." After they gave their name, he reciprocated with his own, speaking his title proudly. That out of the way, Tersek focused on the latter part of Hakan's response. "You want to know more about them? I don't know how much help I can be in that area, but I know someone who could help you. Of course..." The large wolfdog eyed them both calmly, "If I'm to help you, I would expect some sort of allegiance from you towards the Shadow Haunters."
