Montrell
The Kiger stallion had slowed his trotting stride since entering the rockier sections of the ruins, compared to the open and flat ground of the prairie. He was breathing deeply. Maybe he was a bit wrong at how far they'de have to go to reach the ruins, but now that they were here, they could forget about that little unfortunate trek and just check things out.
He picked his way carefully alongside the tall wall of an entirely too old building that looked like some strangely-built human den. Once he turned the corner, he discovered a whole cluster of them and they all appeared that way. Some even had windows and appeared to have second floors. In the distance, he could easily pick out the formations of more ruins. Who knew what they'de find around here. He peeked around from his little vantage point and breathed in the air. It smelled strongly of wolves and various other creatures. Not a good sign. He turned to Sandial and gave his mane a shake. Now he himself was becoming a little apprehensive about the whole thing. "I smell predators." he stated, voice considerably lower than when they'de been talking earlier.
Sandial
Sandial looked around. The place gave her the chills. "Hm..." She said sniffing the air. She caught the scent of many different breeds of wolves. Most of the tracks were freash. "I do too." She said snorting and moving slightly ahead of him. She started to clamper around the ruins.
Montrell
Montrell looked at her, searching deeply for any signs that could possibly give away that she was frightened, but he didn't see anything. She seemed ready if something came at them, and this thought caused him to shiver. Yeah, what wishful thinking on his part. He pushed the idea out of his mind and followed after her before veering off towards a single ruin in particular. It was built a long ways across and with a low roof. He began to sniff around intently, nostrils flaring, before his eyes landed on a small heap that was formed in the corner. He examined it carefully with a whiff here and there before realizing with utter horror that it was a pile of old bones. He snorted and turned out of the building, looking to where Sandial was. He took careful steps after her through the snow. "Ahh," was all he mustered up after that little encounter, voice a bit out of it.
Sandial
Sandial realized that he was frightened and smiled. She was the dare devil type. It was hard to tell expecialy since she looked so soft and peacful. "If you'r not comferable here we can go else where." She said kindly. She noticed the pile of bones. A shiver ran down her spine. Looks like some one was hungery... She thought to her self.
Montrell
The stallion watched her and gave his thick black mane a shake. The look of his eyes hardened intently. He wouldn't give up this piece of adventure because of a little stack of old bones. "No way," he replied, lifting his head higher to get a better view of the rooftops. He examined the vines and such, but this time from a good distance as to not discover any minor details in the picture. He sighed deeply then, thinking about when two-leggeds must have ruled this place. "They appear to be quite old..." he said, almost absentmindedly, as he continued along a path that was apparently a worn trail between some underbrush. It appeared to open up into another little plot of ruins.
Sandial
Sandial smiled and moved on. She walked up to the Moat and took a quick drink. She lifted her head quickly when she saw the shadows of aligators inside the deep waters. She turned and ran up to Montrell. "They have aligaotors here!" She said a bit worried. She wasn't afraid of much but Aligators were some thing else. She looked up at the ruins "Yes they do and probably are..." She looked at the crumbled parts and pieces. "Its kind of like a giant puzzle that is impossible to put together..." She chuckled.
Montrell
Montrell had stopped short of another ruin when suddenly he heard her voice. He turned quickly to face her and then his eyes turned to the moat. Judging by the way the section of water appeared, one may have been able to predict that there was something strange about it. He'de never seen an alligator himself but stories were always circulating about and it struck a nerve. He raised a brow, maybe just a bit more curious than interested in running the other way... He himself didn't have much he was fearful of. However, there were those things you had to do. Instead of heading towards the moat he turned away from it and started for the nearest ruin. He looked at the pieces before lowering his fine head to the ground and pushing a large hidden clump of rock across the snow. "I agree," he simply replied with a lopsided grin.
Viyanna
The soft sound of clapping hooves against the solid of a stone ground quietly echoed across the ruins. Crimson ears perked back as her long black mane bounced around her nape. Partial blue eyes glanced around before the whisper of voices flashed in her ears. Clapping slowed as audits stood tall, nostrils flare to try and take in the scent of the trespassers. With a loud cry she took off into a fast trot, "Who goes there!" She said, trying to find the source of the scent. Her tail flicked around her hocks before the mare finally picked herself up into a collected canter. Heading toward Montrell and Sandial.
Montrell
Montrell just kinda poked around the old dilapidated ruins some more before becoming bored. His eyes settled on a small patch of stray grass in the snow and he lowered his head to rip away at it. Not realizing how hungry he'de been since all this time, he nosed around some more to uncover another few blades of grass, an empty stomach urging him on. It was actually quite delicious, though a bit frozen. It had a nice frosty taste to it, and if it wasn't for the sudden, faraway voice of a stranger, he probably wouldn't have caught the scent of another equine approaching. He lifted his head abruptly and turned in the general direction, ears flickering back into his mane when he detected a rather demanding tone. Once the mare was within viewing distance and hearing range, he responded with the same tone. "And who goes there?"
He didn't like the attitude much already and didn't see how they were causing any disturbance. After all, the place was nothing but a bunch of old buildings. The damage had already been done over the years— or at least that was what he figured. Who would be staying in a place like this, anyway?
Viyanna
Partial blues flashed as the stallion retorted to the mares comment. How dare he even think of insulting a Haunter on their own turf. Raising her head high, thistles pinned to her skull, creamy whites of her eyes flashing to the stallion. "My name is Viyanna, Member of the Horse division of the Shadow Haunters, you are trespassing on Shadow Haunter grounds! State your names and your reason for being here!" She walked closer to them, legs stiff, standing as tall as her 16 hand frame could make her. Tassel stood out, this mare wasn't one to mess with, even if it was 'tradition' for a mare to bow to a stallion, the Shadow Haunters were anything but traditional.
Montrell
Montrell lowered his head in total defiance. Her words meant nothing to him and, if he could help it, he'de make sure they never did. Having not heard of these Shadow Haunters, he found no true reason to be fearful or whatever she seemed to be implying. This dun stallion only stood about 15 or so hands compared to her 16 hand frame, but he was quick and able to move swiftly on his hooves. "I am known as Montrell and we are here on our own terms," he snorted, though he didn't want to get the two of them in too much trouble. He could have a nasty little temper and especially when he felt imposed upon. He wondered what Sandial had to say about this whole ordeal. He stood back, keeping his own body as tall and rigid as he could manage.
Sandial
Sandial looked at the mare and smirked. She was only 14 hands and much smaller. "We really have no reason to be here other than to check the place out. We're new here." She smiled and walked on. She didn't even try to be large. She trotted a few feet away and turned to Montrell. "You coming?" She asked amused by the mares failed attempt at intimidating her.
Montrell
Montrell noted how calm and collected Sandial appeared to be in the situation. He gave a gruff snort, stealing a glance towards the imposing mare. Now that he thought about it, he had better things to do than argue over such territorial nonsense. He gave his forelock a single bob at Viyanna before turning to follow after Sandial. "Gladly." he replied, one ear on her and the other tuned in on Viyanna. He didn't trust her one bit, and by the way she approached them, he was quite sure that he wouldn't be back any time too soon.
Viyanna .+. Alderon
Viyanna, with her fur rising up in anger toward the two naive fools, reared up and called with a deafening tone. "INTRUDERS THERE ARE INTRUDERS IN THE RUINS!" The female lowered herself back down and ran toward the horses, getting in front of them and rearing up on her haunches, pawing at them with her ears pinned.
A distant rumbling could be heard and a deep grunt of discomfort escaped the mare. Alderon, a large rhino, appeared from around a building. Ears flicked and an uneasy moan escaped his beak. "Who goes there!" He snorted, waving his four foot horn around. "Viyanna back up toward him, these fools have no idea who they are messing with." She moved to stand next to the rhino.
But it was just the rhino that heard her call. From the roof of one of the houses came a blur, landing on four feet was a stripped tiger cheetah, his eyes narrowed as his body raised. With the body of a cheetah, and the color and marking of a tiger, this creature was truly something different. "You best heed the words of a Haunter my friend." The cat almost purred in discomfort.
Montrell
Montrell heard the mare behind him with his flickering ear and spun when she appeared to be charging at them. He reared up as well, head pulled back tightly and his own fore legs striking out blindly before him. He wasn't expecting on hitting anything so took a couple steps backwards and bared his teeth for a second, landing sharply when she backed off. His black tipped ears were pinned back in his thick mane, which was flung out in all directions across his face and neck. He stood by Sandial, wondering what exactly was on her mind when a huge creature with a large horn emerged from around a corner. His eyes showed a rather shocked look of disbelief but he snorted defiantly all the same. He could have guessed another was on their way, and when a strange feline with unmatching body and stripes appeared, he took a single step back but nothing more. His eyes made some quick glances to the sides, making sure there was a clear way to escape just in case things got a little nasty. He could see it going there, too. He lowered his head and with a single fore hoof, scraped away at the snow and mud beneath. "So what makes you special?" he asked, more directed towards the big cat.
Frodo and Hura
Frodo A Male Grizzley Bear adn Hura a Polar bear also heard the commotio and now came to join The other haunters. Frodo let out a low growl but only came out just in case these animals decided to do something stupid. He sat back on his hind end off his front end and so did hura.
Sandail
The golden mare smiled and didn't react to the other horses. "Why harm the harmless..." She looked at the mare her ice blue eyes seemed pailer. "You are the one causing the trouble here..." She bobbed her and looked over to the animals lined up against the ruins. She smiled sweetly and walked around the mare.
Frodo
Frodo ow stood up to full height as Sandail attempted to go further into their land. She nor us are causeing trouble, we are protecting our territory now unless you want serious trouble i suggest you turn aroundThe male Grizzly bear beared his teeth at her. Hura waited and watched.
Viyanna .+. Alderon .+. Tachi
Alderon, the white rhino, shifted so that his gigantic horn would be in the way of the mare. His small eyes narrowing, "I can only offer you our warnings for so long equine. Heed yourself." He gave another snort as the mismarked cheetah hybrid moved around the mare. His daunting eyes flashing at the stallion now. "You seem to be the good conscience of the bunch, you might want to tell your playmate here that she's about to get into a mess she WONT know how to clean up." He opened his mouth now and offered a hiss, the fur along his ridges starting to rise.
Viyanna pinned her ears and snorted, then smiled, "Fine, if they want to wander, let them... lets just hope breathless and the other snakes and crocodiles don't find them..."
Montrell
Too much of a diversity of animals running about the place. It almost made him sick... And they all seemed to feel the need to appear. In his head, he was snorting with aggitation. but then shook himself back to reality with a jerk when a couple large bears came into view. He sighed deeply, well aware of how they were outnumbered and, as much as he'de hate to admit it, overpowered. Despite all this, he felt the need to not back down. He sized the others up. A few possibly able to outrun. His eyes were drawn to Viyanna, her words sinking in the quickest of all. "We've already found them," he replied, recalling how they had seen them in the moat. He then looked toward Sandial, wondering just how far she'de push it.
Frodo
Frodo was getting agitated by these horses. He was a fnast runner when he wanted to be and nif he ever caught them well they be sorry.I really suggest you leave before you get yourselves killed. Tesspassign is a high offesne hereHe spoke and stood up fully on his hind legs.
Hura listened and watched.
Sandial
Sandial smiled and turned back to Montrell. "Maybe we should leave..." She frowned "Well I am feel free to follow..." She glared at the bear "I'm not afraid of you..." She hissed before turning away towards the boarders. Her head held low she gave it a shake and her mane flailed. She hated to give in.
Montrell
Montrell certainly hated giving in as well, but he didn't really consider it that. A fight hadn't broken out, and it seemed almost like they were leaving on their own terms, just as they'de shown up. He snorted and turned away as well, following after Sandial, an ear flickered back on the other creatures. Sandial's head was low but his head was held fairly high. He was ready to just go where she was headed. "It'de be easier to just forget them," he stated as they walked along.
Frodo
Frodo chuckled at her words.I don'nt caare if your scared of me or not but i could easily kill you with one swipe of my large paw to your faceHe spoke and landed on all fours now and he shook and yawned watching them leave before going back to what he was doing.
