Drive didn't push him. Instincts didn't impair him. For although he walked on unknown ground, his dark heart was soaring above the treetops in an exhiliraing pulse. Although the foliage was dense around him, he could not have breathed easier on the peak of a mountain (well technically he couldn't because of the lack of oxygen...whatever). Dark jaded pools raked over his surroundings as he padded quite comfortably up and over the land speckled with granite ruins. The scents of his kind were strong in this region, but the young wolf feared nothing in this life so far. Curious, but cautious, he swiveled his head to and fro, wondering where to make post.
name spelled backwards.
[artic wolf. white. green eyes. four years. male.]
Fanta
Fanta hadn't been up to much ever since she officially named her son, Nicholas, a independent wolf. Though, the burden of him being deaf still stung her heart, and she constantly was worrying about him. Fanta had seen her daughter, Arget, with that male named Crucified....erm, Hestier. But Suenga had been unseen for the past months. Fanta loved her children, and she wished for her eldest son, Patch to come join her among the Shadow Haunters; but Patch was forever Lurker bound.
Fanta emerged from the shade of the Ruins, strutting out in a smooth, sexy way. Fanta closed her eyes, breathing in heavily and leaning against the stony structure of the Ruins. Muzzle raised, Fanta tasted the air. It wasn't anything unusual -trees, dirt, water, summer scents, the pack- nothing that strange. But, Fanta knew a foreign scent, and it sent shivers down her spine. Fanta saw Oemor, the male standing about like a lost pup. Fanta bounded forward a few steps, the moat created a boundary between her and the new wolf. "Hello, I am Fanta, warrior of the Shadow Haunters. What is your business among the Shadow Haunter's prescence?" Fanta questioned boldly, chest held out and azure eyes surveying the new male.

The currents of the wind brought on no peculiar warnings, although he was upwind of the sleek female. HIs auds twitched their paranoid twitch but his eyes held a steady gaze with the creature above him. He had never seen a snake so large, but these were wild lands, and he hadn't expected to see many familiars. The python grasped the thick bough with it's muscular body and winded it's way up higher into the canopies, out of sight, out of mind.
Oemor cocked his crest, a bit intrigued, but not impressed. Returning his eyes to ground level, he saw a form slip from the shadows of the grand ruins. A female strode towards him, with an unhealthy confidence, Oemor noted. Beautiful though she was, arrogance was thick about her. One aud folded back on his handsome head, annoyed. Although he took a large slice in the cake of cockiness, he didn't like it when others ate off the same plate.
Turning his brow so that the female got a profile view of him, Oemor let his eye slip over the wolf who called herself Fanta, and was mildly curious. Shadow Haunters? Ahuh.... The young, bleached male glanced down at the moat boundary and chuckled inwardly.
"Fanta, Warrior of the Shadow Haunters, could you tell me what my business is here? As a traveler who's traveled many many moons alone, I've seemed to have forgotten." Oemor creased his maw with a friendly, mocking smirk, and his eyes glinted with mischief. If the female walked like she knew everything, let her talk as if.
Ghoul
Thick with muscle, the white male walked with a bored strut along the pathways of the ruins. His head lazily bobbing with each step as he moved forth through the land. Deep brown eyes shadowed with fatigue from staying up all night to search for the mare, Prisoner, and her son, Detention.
His senses were so low right now that he was walking right past Oemor just along the moat's edge. It wasn't until Fanta had said something to the stranger that he looked up and noticed him. There was a moment's delay before he shook himself into reality and into attention. His fur rose along his back and he approached the other with more caution. His nose quivered, taking in the scent of this new being, eyes shivering in their wake before twitching a glance to Fanta.
Fanta
Fanta narrowed her eyes, surveying the brute cautiously. Head held high, Fanta thought for a moment, before saying, "If you were as wise as you look, you'd be here to join us. Shadow Haunters are on the road to gaining the whole Shadow Valley."

Hmmm... he pondered. Cocking an imaginary brow, he smiled, exhibiting his sharpened but unused fangs. "Indeed. I guess I am here to join you all then, if it'll satisfy my lovely lady." Oemor had found his stead. The whole "on the road to gaining the whole Shadow Valley" had really engrossed his direction. He had been looking for just the opportunity.
Fanta
Fanta nodded, watching the brute with carefulness, before turning and summoning her leader with a deep howl. The ebony fae then turned back to Oemor, saying, "Show respect, and don't underestimate her. She's tough, more tough then hell..."
Bandit & Onslaught
Fanta's howl drew more than just the attention of Risen. The call also attracted two seasoned warriors; the brothers of Ghoul. Onslaught led the way, his head held level but his posture anything but submissive. His icy yellow eyes flickered from Fanta, to Oemor, to Ghoul. He moved to flank his brother, facing Oemor with an indifferent stare.
Bandit, however, was a lot more cocky about his approach. His head was held high, his eyes shining with arrogance. Prehaps the black cape pattern that was around his throat and back gave him a little bit more confidence than normal? He didn't say anything, as Fanta seemed to have swiftly sorted the newcomer and called the alphess. No; he would wait for Risen to deal with this new wolf, and then he would talk to her about his decision.

Oemor felt a tremor go throughout the land as his obsidian aquaintence called forth her master. Let the banshee call who she likes, he sighed. Although the young wolf had expected a lord to answer Fanta's call, her interjection of a female as the Ruin Master irked him a bit. He hadn't known of a tyrannous bitch leading a pack since he his mother's time. But she had been overthrown, just like any opposition in Oemor's way.
Surprise wasn't present in any part of the outsider's body as more wolves approached him and Fanta. Their eyes glistened with arrogance (which seemed under no short supply in this land) and judgement. He greeted their approach with a loud thud as his large haunches hit the turf and a bored yawn. They had him quite surrounded, with the bold fae in front, and a troop of males behind him. Auds pushed forth directly, he waited. His jaded, emerald eyes reflected nothing. He wasn't interested in mingling with the ranks. It was head of the household Oemor was waiting for.
Risen .+. Ghoul
Coming over the horizon, two Risen strut slowly beside the aging Incalia. Thankful for her company as an escort. Although, with Incalia being twice the size of Risen, there would be no surprise that Oemor would mistake the rott-mix to lead the pack. It wasn't until she got close enough that the 60 pound gray female moved closer to him, letting Incalia take her place behind her.
With the sharpest and most bone striking yellow eyes a wolf could get, the tiny female moved up to Oemor, She had a few scars, and was just about the smallest member of the Shadow Haunters there was. But her highly placed head, her strong pose, and a tail that would not falter from atop her back. She let out a low tone, chilling, soulless. "My name is Risen, Daughter of the Vicious, Alpha of the Shadow Haunters." Chilling yellow eyes narrowed upon him, her devilish soul connecting with his through eye contact. "What is it that you wish to speak to me about... "
Her fur was lowered for the moment, but she was just about as unpredictable as one could get. Ghoul, once with his head high, lowered a bow to the female that approached. His eyes narrowing on Oemor, daring him to make a wrong move to show what the female was capable of. Risen was getting older, but she was still young enough to put others in their place, and Ghoul knew it.
Incalia, Bandit and Onslaught
Incalia had stood slowly, thankful for Risen waiting for her. Though her body was bowing to the years she had lived, her mind was as sharp as a pin. Her dark eyes showed complete defiance and power, nd her body held a multitude of scars; trophies of the many fights she had been in, and the many lives she had taken in the Shadow Haunters name. Half of her left ear was missing, her right shoulder was dotted with small puncture marks from a confrontation with a deer herd. She was the perfect picture of what a top warrior should be.
The Gamma walked beside Risen with an air of grace and strength, despite the moaning of her joints, and once the alphess approached Oemor, stood behind her leader. Though her head and tail were not raised in dominance, Incalia's presence atuomatically signalled that she was one of the top ranked in this army of creatures. Her eyes were fixated on Oemor, but her posture leaned towards Risen, showing that her protection lay over the alphess. She may have been old, but she would still intercept any foolish attacks with the expert skill she had accumilated over the years.
Bandit's head dropped considerably when Risen and his mother arrived. Onslaught's actions mimicked his brother's in respect for the small but mighty Risen.

It was eerie how the clan's poise comforted him. Their stances were hostile, and yet, deep within each pair of eyes he saw a bond that held them strong. As Oemor continued to sit so wrongly-prestigous (however right it was in his mind...ha!), he laid his illuminous eyes back on Fanta. So bold, so fearless. He sensed the No Fear philosophy ran hot through this pack of Shadow Haunters. A interesting name, but a name he had yet to come to understand.
The mood changed, and as the air thickened, Oemor looked up to the far landline. The dappled rays from the sun shone through quite magnificently on the approaching wolves. All the while curious, Oemor's brow furrowed as they drew closer. Immediately his attention had been placed on the brute looking draft of Incalia, but the willowing posture of time across her entire build dismissed his assumption. It suits her well, he concluded. Wisdom is invaluable.
All around him he sensed the domineering aura of the pack quiver and lessen as the two females came apart of the pit, with Oemor in the middle. He rose to his massive paws, standing rigidly, with his tail crooked to his left side. He lifted his right lip, graciously displaying a single fang to the large female, Incalia, as a dire gesture of respect to her seniority. Finally, he allowed himself to gaze upon the Alpha, ignoring whole-heartedly the two males behind her.
Petite though she was, her muscles ran lean and hard all over her limbs. He wisely noted the scars, both on the outside and inside of the steely wolf. Blatantly avoiding her eyes, he continued his survey of the Alpha of the Shadow Haunters. Her words sent a tremor down to the very strings of his heart, but it didn't sway him. If anything it excited him, almost aroused him in adrenaline.
Her Ice Queen glare was hot in his head as he met her eyes. They drilled into his soul, as he was sure his hard, lazy, nonchalant gaze did as well, but they wouldn't get far. Years of apathy and practice had erased mere emotions from showing in his eyes. However, he wouldn't hesitate to portray them through his body, as he felt was necessary for any conversation.
"If I'm not mistaken, it was this pretty friend of yours here," he jerked his head towards Fanta, "...that summoned you, not me. I would have been perfectly content wandering the lands but she insisted that I join you and your company. Awfully hospitable if you ask me." There was a smile in his voice but he needn't show it. He winked at Fanta. Hopefully he wouldn't get her in too much trouble.
Fanta
Fanta snorted at Oemor's words, replying, "You had a intention, though. No one walks blind to the Ruins without a idea why their here." Fanta dipped her head at Risen, knowing her son was here. Lifting her head, she pivoted hard and trotted off. She hadn't seen him in almost a year.
Nicholas
The wolf hybrid, son of Fanta and Luke, exited the Temple in search of his mother. He knew that she'd probably be looking for him. He had been off training with the other pups and had little time to visit with his family.
What he didn't know was that his paternal half-sisters - Predator and Tainted - and other relatives were here as well. He took a good look around, taking in everything. "Ma." He managed to say in an odd, low voice when he saw Fanta. He nuzzled his mother as he wagged his tail.
Fanta
Fanta turned to Nicholas, bounding over to her son. Her ebony fur was ruffled by the wind as she touched him tenderly and motherly. Fanta had been proud of Nicholas's improvement and how strong he had become, proving himself to be a future warrior.
Nicholas
There is an open road on the other side of this window
Oh, to escape, oh to leave these walls behind
And every scratch in here is a day out there you won't know
Til you give in
Til you let go
Nicholas smiled at his mother, letting loose a quiet, weak bark. He glanced at his fellow Haunters and then the newcomer, then once again turned back to Fanta, looking at her with an inquisitive look as if to say, 'Who is the new wolf?'
Fanta
Fanta looked at Oemor with a snort, rolling her eyes. "A egotistical male," Fanta said softly, knowing Nicholas was capable of reading her lips, despite his deafness.
Nicholas
Nicholas grinned, taking another look at Oemor. He turned back to Fanta, putting his paw in the receding water. "No mor flod." He said when he noticed that the flood was over. "Esplor?" He wanted to go on an adventure, having never really straying far from the Ruins. Most of the Valley was unseen by him.
Fanta
Fanta smiled softly, looking at the egotistic male and snorting. "Fine, Nicholas. We can go exploring," Fanta decided, picking up her tail and leaping into the flooded moat, the cool waters splashing from underneath her. The prowess kicked across to the other side, shaking and shivering. Fanta glanced over her shoulder for Nicholas, smiling softly. It was the hot, but the waters were frigid.
Nicholas
Nicholas followed his mother's lead, knowing that she knew the Valley better than him. He jumped into the moat, and with strong kicks, reached the other side. He shook his pelt and waited for Fanta to lead the way.
Fanta
Fanta hesitated before sprining into a jiggy, smooth trot down the mountain. Fanta knew exactly the place to take her son: Orca Bay. The beach was refreshing at this time of year, now that hot temperature had rolled in and humidity spiked.
Risen
The female's look hardened slightly, as his eyes met hers, she made sure to push his stare. Though she gave a crooked smile. "She only wants what's best for the pack, and she's right. Many are smarter than to explore the Ruins without reason..." Her eyes carried from one side of the moat to the next, lazily dragging her gaze along before looking up to the stranger again. "Not as if you would be stupid enough to pass snake infested waters... That is... She wishes for you to join, I could care less right now.. For all I know you could be a spy from one of our enemies..." Her head lowered, ears flattening against her back. "If any of our valuable information were to be seeped after you set foot into this pack, you would be torn apart." Golden orbs narrowed further still upon the heathen.
She straightened herself again, eyes sharp and yet quizzical. "Now, I didn't ask why you've summoned me... What is it that you want to speak to me about... if there are going to be no words, I do strongly suggest you leave these lands.... We have a thing against those we do not trust.. I hope you understand." With the last word, she cackled slightly under her aging breath, She was more mature that most of the wolves here, but definitely not the oldest. Wisdom instilled deep in her eyes, along with power that she had held over the pack for the years she had lead them.
