*human*

Early next mornging sounds could be heard from the door as a key was fit into it and soon unlocked. It swung open, sweeping a blinding light into the dark basement, to reveal the young boy holding a brown paper bag. He shut the basement back into darkness and flipped on a faint light. Dropping the paper bag that held some sweet aroma, he made sure all animals were still there, but did not make a move to fed or water any, that was nto his job. Their masters decided if or not their animals should be fed and if what. But he did stop at one kennel, the one that held his fighter. He smiled down at her, it was nice to finally own one. He remarked with pleasure that teh bowl was not spilt at all, but near empty. he carefully and quickly took teh bowl away and placed it a small cabinet after unlocking it. "Now I will give you some more later, wouldn't want you to get soft on me would I?"
He moved back to the paper bag and emptied it on a dirty counter. A somewhat old, but still good big portion of meat laid there, probably a great treat for any of teh beasts here, which he noticed with satisfaction that a lot of the animals were now watching him curiosly. He took a knife out which was always concealed in his coat and cut a small piece off. Picking up the small piece, he dropped the rest back in the bag, placing the bag in his cabinet. He took the small piece and threw it in reach of his fighter, "There you go." It was just enough to tempt her hunger, but never satisfy it. That was not his goal.

Kaida

She squinted as the light shone in her face, and was disappointed when he took away the water. but then he threw the meat down, and she attacked it voraciously, growling quietly at any that would try to claim her prize. She swallowed it down in three great gulps, and looked around for more, but as no more was forth coming she went and lay down again.

*human*

Oh good, she did want some. "Like that then? Want some more?" He moved to the door and left, only to return softly with a crate, a silent crate. "Well, it isn't the same, but it could work."
He placed the crate by the pit with some difficulty and came back for the wolf. Taking the cahin he had secured before he pulled it till the canine's face was up against the bars. Keeping her there he lifted the gate and grabbed the chain close to her neck, shaking his other hand to distract her from biting. In one quick movement he let go of the hand outside of the crate, releasing her from the fence, but then just as soon he jerked his hand out and up to his chest level, forcing the great beast on her hind legs. Though he was smaller then others, he was surprisingly strong and held her up in the awkward poistion until she calmed down, smaking her belly with the excess chain as he did so before every tiem she struggled. When she calmed he would set her down on all four feet but still held the chain painfully close to her neck. "You angry yet? Don't take it on me or you are going straight back up. Save it for the fight."

Kaida

She gasped for air as he pulled her up, but remained perfectly still. It was an unnatural behavior, but then she had been raised between the pits and the labs, and was familiar with this technique. The quickest way to be able to breathe was to hold still.

*human*

The human smiled with a tint of danger, "Aww, a smart one. I still need you mad." He hit the girl anyway, a bit harder then he would of done before. He was a little hard to predict what he wanted in that way. Sure, he wasn't so cruel to not give enough water or food to get by, but he would still hit. He was taught by most of the people here, and most people here would beat the fighter near death just because it was fun. But he just wanted a fighter, one that hated him but repected him enough that they did not attack out of fear. That struggled whenever he pushed it around unexpectantly, but cowered as soon as they discovered their mistake. he would not beat the dogs though, just enough for them to get mad. A happy beast was not a good fighter.

He held her there for any reaction but did not strike again, somewhat gently letting her back on all four feet. He stayed almost plastered on her right side, left hand holding the chain so close to her neck that he felt her coat tickling his fingers, and right hand weilded the rest of te chain just in case she attacked. He tugged the chain hard as he walked, voicing a short command, "Follow." He kept the beast tight on his side so there was no room to move around for an attack, but he stayed behind her shoulder, giivng him enough reaction time to prevent her from any attack. He opened the gate with a quick movement and shoved her in, looping the chain off at the same time. He shut the door after her and locked it. He placed the chain where it was excessible if needed and moved over to the covered crate. Shacking it up and generally making the unknown beast inside mad. And in response claws against wood could be heard as something inside hissed and scrambled about.

Kaida

Her only response was a low growl. The boy would soon learn that it took nothing to make her mad: she was born mad. She walked beside him, tame as could be, though keeping that low growl in her throat. As he shoved her in, she immidiately took up a defensible position facing the door. She knew from experience that this was usually where the challenging fighters came in.

*human*

He was happy with the response, maybe if she proved herself still to be a good fighter he would lighten up the attempts at making her angry. But as soon as she began lacking he would open up again. He was experienced with angry and aggressive canines, not quite so much of owning one himself. So most of things were just ideas and experiments.

He again lifted the crate with little difficulty, resting it on one side of the fence. There was no point on opening the gate again, so he opened the door and dropped the animal within in the cage. And there came out a mink. A very upset and mad male mink.

As soon as it dropped he righted himself, turned to face the canine, and backed up with the same hissing noise and bared teeth. Being a full grown and experienced the male was not one to play with, though it could be killed easily with some lucky shots.

Kaida

Large femme eyed her opponent for a moment, and deciding that he was no big deal, tucked her vitals and lauched herself at the mink, going for anything at the front of his body, from a neck hold to a muzzle. It didn't matter.

*human* and *mink*

While the canine was eying the little beast he too was studing her, as well as looking for escape routes. But at the moment, he was mad. He wanted to fight something, mind as well protect himself.

When the canine jumped he ran forward as well, his fast agile little body bringing him underneath the she-beast. And conciendently, had some vital organs right above him. With no time to waste he sprung his strong body upwards and tried to latch his fangs on the skin, claws digging at anyway they can meet.

Kaida

She felt claws dig into her stomach, and immediately rolled, exposing her belly for only a moment, but long enough for her to hopefully grab the mink by the scruff. Coming back to her feet, assuming she had caught him, she went to toss him into the air.

*mink*

His hard little teeth and powerful jaw brought him deep into the stomach, but nothing life threatning. His little, wicked claws dug deep as well, his frenizied fight only increasing. He felt the roll but only latched on harder, and was soon wrenched off, his teeth tearing at her underside, and flung in the air. He flew with a loud and annoyed hiss, landing with a soft thump. He scrambled back to his feet and waited for the other to attack

The boy laughed quietly at the sight of the flying mink but stayed quiet as he studied the fight.

Kaida

Kaida lunged at the mink again, this time swinging her body, and lower, to one side to make it difficult to attack underneath again. Vitals still tucked, she was going for any hold that might allow her to repay him for the pain he had caused her. She wanted to tear him apart.

*mink*

The mink looked as if he wanted to go under again, but changed his mind in the last second. As the open jaws came towards him he leaped on the attacker's face, sharp claws and teeth going for all the sensitive spots. Nose, ears, eyes, and all over again. But though he probably of made some deep cuts on the wolf's face, his attack was getting desperate. And this came apparent as he forgot to check all his legs to make sure they were in check. he gave out a deafening shiek as the female's jaws closed on his back left leg around his knee. CLaws were instinctively began clawing inside his mouth at the must softer skin, he wasn't giving up anyway. Any one could see that as all four sets of claws (even the one currectly stuck in the she-demon's mouth) and jaws were trying to tear teh wolf's face apart.

Kaida

Seeing victory was near, she closed her eyes, both against the pain of him digging at her face, and to prevent him from digging her eyes out. Thus braced, she planted her feet and dug her jaws into that back leg, hoping to crush it into a powder.

*mink*

The mink was past yelping as the bones of his leg began to break, his set of claws stopping as a result. But the other three and mouth still raged on, but his energy was leaving him. The marks were less accurate and not as fast. His eyes were visiably clouding over, but still he fought.

Kaida

Kaida, feeling the bones give way and seeing his eyes glaze, spat him back out, and tossed her head to throw him down. If she succeeded in throwing him down, she went for another vital hold, either throat or stomach, hoping to send the creature off quickly.

*mink*

The mink tossed easily, as if he wanted to be so, and in a last desperate chance, he tried to escape. Limping away his teeth chattered but nothing would be able to stop the brute making his mark, though he may get a srcatch or a bite as he did so.

Kaida

She launched herself forward at the retreated animal, aimed for his stomach, hoping to chew up his vitals as he had attempted to do to her earlier.

*mink*

The mink had a silent scream on his face as the wolf pushed him over, fangs sinking into his stomch. As his last attempt he scratdhed at an eye and the nose with his two front claws. But his heart soon stopped beating and he hung limply in the other's jaws.

Kaida

The mink had torn up her face and underside, but it didn't matter as she began to root through his body, digging out and eating everything resembling food. She ignored the pain as she ate, and when she had finished, lifted her eyes to the youth and growled softly.

*human*

He smiled as the beast ended the mink's life. Though the mink was able to get by the dog's defenses once or twice, he was happy that the she-wolf was learning. He took the chain again and attempted to lasso her, pulling it just tight enough that it wouldn't slip off, but no more if he caught her.

Kaida

Kaida held still as the youth lassoed her. Apparently he was learning that she was not the kind to fight restraint, but was a good fighter anyway. This was a very unusual attitude among fighters, but then she had been raised at the pit, and she knew she was just wasting her energy if she struggled. She flicked her ear as the lasso bopped it on the way around her neck, but did nothing more.

*human*

He opened the gate wide to let her through but never made the line tuant. If she decided to attack, he was ready, but he didn't think she would. Leading her over to her kennel he opened the gate, slipping the chain through like he did before. Closing the gate behind her he refilled the water and gave her only a bite full of meat, since he had eaten the mink.

Kaida

She followed him almost tamely, though the low growl kept in her throat. She went into the kennel without protest, and ate the meat almost daintily. She was still hungry, but no matter. Taking sips of the water now and then, she settled down to sleep.
