Fresca
She still blamed herself for Walker's death, although there was nothing she could do to prevent it. The kids had been too sneaky, and too quick; the pack hadn't been close enough. She should have warned them about the cruelness of humans here... She could still see his terrified eyes as he was thrown into the river, with that cinder block tied to him. He didn't stand a chance. And Delfi... the fiesty, valient dalamtion mix... she had gone done fighting to the end. They had to shoot her six times before she was finally done in.
Fresca had been at the wrong end of the gun as well, but somehow, her life had been spared. A bullet was lodged in her shoulder, and another in her hind leg. But they were not fatal wounds; not on their own anyway.
Limping slowly, exhausted both mentally and physically, the mix-breed dog sat down near a refridgerator and hung her head. Everything had gone wrong from the start, and now, she was at her lowest.
Ninaki & Black Feather
Flying was still painful, but the falcon's wounds had healed enough to grant him flight. Not about to let the discomfort come between him and protecting his pack, Black Feather had set out to patrol the Alleys and the surrounding lands. It was with great surprise that his keen eyes fell upon the disheveled and battered form of an old enemy. The message was relayed very quickly.
Following his friend's coordinates and trailing his shadow from high in the sky, Ninaki soon came across Fresca as she slouched by the fridge. There was no pity or sympathy in his golden orbs as he stood a moment to study her. He had just as much reason to be saddened, after all the losses he and his pack had taken. And so, without mercy, he shot across the ground, covering the gap between him and his rival in a few short bounds. Jaws went for the back of her nape, looking for a firm, powerful grip. Death was not his initial will against her however; he wanted to drag her back to the Alleys. The pack needed something like this to boost their morale.
Fresca
She was too lost in her own sorrow and misery to notice the enemy drawing in. Even at the sound of his rushing paws, the wounded mixbreed couldn't react in time. As she scrambled up and prepared to turn and defend herself, it was already too late. Her nape was entrapt between his deadly grip before she could even register who the assailant was. Though she felt there was little reason to fight at this point, Fresca bucked and plunged forward, trying to pull herself free from Ninaki's grip.
Ninaki & Black Feather
Ninaki wasn't about to let Fresca go so easily. Being in very good health and strength, he bit down harshly, bracing against her attempts at breaking free. "Not this time, darling." The beta growled darkly, his words muffled by Fresca's own fur and flesh. Pulling against the mixbreed, he attempted to drag her back to the Alleys...
Fresca
For a brief moment, she fought with all her waning strength, trying to dislodge herself from the enemy's grasp, but it was a futile effort. She could not win this battle. And then, quite suddenly, she stopped fighting it; for she realized she no longer had anything to fight for. Ebony, Steel, Kasna, Delfi, Skip, Danger... they were all gone. "You have me." The mixbreed consented, her once proud dial held low in miserable defeat. Glazy eyes were held downcast as she allowed herself to be dragged away.
Ninaki
He did not relent his grip, and even bit harder when she stopped struggling, "Indeed I do." Was his chilling reply, emotions backed by the death of his family. "Come on." Ninaki began to tug again, leading to the Aegis Den.
Black Feather followed after.
