Rio
The wolfdog trotted lightly into the dump, glancing around. At 5 years old, he still had some of the mind from his pup years, though he was slowly maturing.
His banner and dial were held at shoulder level, for he didn't want to be noticed yet. He had come to this valley for unknown reasons, maybe to find peace, hatred, hardship; he longed for the life others had, whether it be good or bad. He could care less, but right now he was mostly interested in finding some food.
With his nose working magic, he soon came upon a pile of leftovers from some human family, and sniffed through it, making sure every inch was safe to eat. He dug in, his hunger level almost at an unbearable stage. He was empty from his long trek. He had a wacky history, assuming he was from countries across the seas. He had a bizarre way of getting here as well.
He continued to munch, kneeling down on his belly while still being on his paws. He ripped away at some old hamburgers and tasted some fries, which he didn't take too much of a liking of. He liked the meat better. He hoped a human didn't come along, or he could get a shoe thrown at him again, or possibly even get shot. He was 75% wolf, and only 25% husky. he was always mistaken for a pure wolf, or else a wolfdog, which most humans don't enjoy. They see them as dangerous animals. This made Rio alert and wary, since he didn't want to lose his life just yet. He wanted to live longer than most that got killed did.
Sighing, he ate his fair share and then walked away and up to a large cardboard box that was lying on it's side, wide open. He entered it, and sniffed, before laying and curling up. His front end was facing the outside so he could keep watch. He lowered his dial and rested it on his forepaws, a bit bored, but at least his hunger was satisfied.
Aralyn
A sharp whistle pierced the air as Aralyn made her way to the dump. The young woman carried no gun or any other protection. She was not looking to kill Rio or any other dog that happened upon her path. Again she let loose a sharp whistle. "Malon!" She shouted. For over a month her shepherd mix had not returned home and she was beginning to worry for his safety. She stood in front of Rios box and tears streamed from her eyes. "Malon...." She whispered softly. Her dog was nowhere to be found.
