*Black Bear*
A large black bear moves leisurely over the dump, taking his picks from the best of what the place has to offer. Fat is thick on him, making the creature a bit sluggish.
Hydras, Narsia, Skeil, Yersinia, Pirqua, & Mesa
Hydras led the four behind her, keeping her tail high in alpha position. "Smell that?" The hybrid questioned, picking up her pace. "Smells like fun to me." It had been a while since the Shadow Lurkers had had a good fight, so Hydras was eager for some action.
Narsia grinned delightedly, "A black bear will be fun. Pirqua, Mesa; make sure humans won't spoil our fun." The beta told her falcon friends who were riding a top her back.
The birds took to the air, mother and daughter, and began to circle around. Their incredibly keen vision could detect the smallest of movements for at least five miles around.
Yersinia and Skeil eagerly followed their alpha and beta.
Hydras soon spotted the ebony creature and signaled her pack to circle it.
Ninaki
Ninaki followed beside his mate, flicking his tail against her a few times. His dark yellow orbs scanned the bear and a grinning smile spread over his brownish muzzle. "What fun this will be. Some practice, at last." He whispered, then waited for the bear's reaction and his alpha's orders.
*Black Bear*
The bear rumbled and stood up on his hind legs. He certainly didn't appreciate being surrounded by a pack of canines. "Beat it, scram! Before I kill each and everyone of yous!" he threatened with a roar, turning primarily to Hydras, seeing that she was the alpha. Suddenly he came down on his front paws and charged her. It was only a bluff though.
Hydras, Narsia, Skeil, & Yersinia
Hydras sprung back, not wanting to risk calling the bluff. A short, sharp bark was her signal for the pack to attack.
Narsia brushed past her mate, flashing him a smile before lunging for the bear. She snapped at his haunches.
Skeil rushed up as well, barking excitedly as she launched her stout, muscle-bound body at the much larger creature. Strong jaws aimed for the flesh of the bear's upper arm, where she hoped to clamp down and keep her hold.
Yersinia came dashing in, flashing her fluffy tail and barking ecstatically at the buzz of action around her. She sprung up, trying to land on the bear's back and sink her fangs into his thick back.
Hydras twirled away from the bear before rushing in and leaping, going for his throat. She was cautious though, and only going for a quick bite before dropping away and preparing for another hit. Those claws could disemowl any canine in their path.
Ninaki
He charged with his pack, growling with pleasure. He sprung at the creature, going along with his daughter Yersinia. He aimed more for the shoulder area though. His raving jaws struck for any flesh they could. He was bound determined to slow the bear down, or possibly even fell it.
*Black Bear*
His heavy stomach and fat from foraging the Dump slowed him down quite a bit. He was not quite as sharp as the bears that were truly wild. The creature roared out in agony as fangs tore at his haunch. Two bodies landed heavy on his back, and again he felt the pain of fangs digging into his flesh. The bear reared up against the weight somehow and swung at Narsia. But then he found the pit bull latched to his upper arm and swung his other powerful paw at her.
Now a form shot towards him, hitting his chest and tearing into his throat. The bear fell back down onto his front paws, roaring once again at the pack as he blood began to flow. He took a swipe at Hydras now.
Hydras, Narsia, Yersinia, & Skeil
Narsia sprung to the side with swift reflexes. As soon as his attention was diverted, she went again for his haunch, doing her best to damage the muscles there.
Yersinia fell when the bear reared, colliding with her mother with a yelp. Flashing an apologetic smile to Narsia, the hybrid sprung again for the bear's back, seeking for her hold once more.
Skeil held on for dear life, letting all her weight ride on her strong jaws as the bear reared up. She yelped between clentched teeth when he swiped at her. She could feel warm blood drip down her side from the long gashes his claws left, but it was only a flesh wound. Nothing vital yet. Now she bit deeper and thrashed her head back and forther to cause all the damage she could.
Hydras sprung back, easily calculating the bear's moves. She snarled and snapped, taunting him to move about and drain his energy. She rushed around to his side, then made another leap for his throat.
Ninaki
Ninaki clung on as the bear reared. He used his dewclaws to help hold himself up, as well as his jaws. When the bear came down again, Ninaki shifted his bite, going now for the back of his neck and head.
*Black Bear*
The bear roared out, trying to rear up again, but the weight of the pack brought him down again. He swiped at Ninaki with his free paw, but it was hard to reach the wolf-dog. He turned sharply, trying to throw them off and snap at Skeil, who was easiest for him to reach. But as he did so, jaws sunk again into his neck, bringing out a growl. The black bear turned upon the alpha, snapping at her back and clawing at her. Blood began to flow more freely from his neck.
Hydras, Narisa, Yersinia, & Skeil
Narsia and Yersinia began shifting their bites a bit, trying to open more wounds and cause greater damage. They clung on tenaciously as he tried to throw them off.
Skeil still clung to the arm, thrashing about and grating her teeth together against his flesh. She snarled and growled all the while, savoring the taste of blood.
Hydras bit deep before springing back again, away from danger. She ducked to avoid the snapping jaws and dangerous paw, but was graze atop her head. Snarling sharply, she danced around to the side of the bear, then rushed for a third time, jumping for the side of his head, trying to snag her bloody jaws into the side of his face.
Ninaki
Ninaki hunched down and pulled away slightly when the claw came near him. He tore more savagely at the bear now, diggin in his fangs and ripping furiously at the flesh.
*Black Bear*
Blood seeped steadily from his neck now, soaking into his dark fur. Several other parts of his body were badly damaged by the fangs and more of his blood was spilt. Toxins built up too rapidly in his muscles as they were damaged and soon the bear was thrown into shock by it all. He fell harshly to his side, feeling the alpha's fangs rip into his face. He just wasn't quick enough.
The bear resisted for a while longer, trying feebly to snap at the pack and shake them off, but it was useless. Finally his body gave; the bear was dead.
