Onok, Callaquioa, Brennik, & Others

Callaquioa and Brennik were waiting along the top of slope, near the edge of their territory. Daga was pacing through the nearby trees, keeping any eye on the mother and son, and waiting anxiously for the rest of the herd to show up.

By the time Onok arrived, the blood had dried on his coat, but the sting of his wounds took a backseat for the new concern he had for his sister. He didn't know she was no longer part of their parent's band, or that she hadn't even left of her own volition. And with a single, older stallion looking after her... it made him worry. 'Should I go back and make a truce with them? For her sake, at least?'

This thought and others clouded his mind and harried his thoughts. What stopped him from turning around was his own family, and his duty to protect them. He had to make sure Xenarona made it safely over the mountains and check on the rest of his band before he could do anything else.

Xena

Xena checked on Loki before realizing that thor was missing . where is thor? She said.

Onok & Others

Onok had little time to celebrate Xenarona's safe return once he realized that Thor never made it back with Callaquioa and Brennik. "Thor!" He bellowed out and turned around, facing the treeline they had just come from. Had he trailed behind, perhaps trying to help corral the family home? But as Onok waited and watched, the white-faced yearling never showed up.

"I can look for him, father." Brennik offered hopefully.

"No." The stallion shook his head and turned back to face his herd, "You and Loki are too young yet. Daga!"

The buck emerged from the forest at his calling, and Onok wasted no time shifting the roll to the young whitetail, "I need you to circle back and find out where Thor is. Nightshade, keep an eye on the road, and let me know if you see any sign of the humans." Onok himself wished nothing more than to rush back out to the prairie and look for his son, but with Harthrou not in sight, he couldn't afford to leave his family alone and unguarded, and the deer would be far swifter and more discrete than him.

"Of course." Daga sprang away, having a pretty good idea where Thor was. Nightshade, meanwhile, took silently to the hills where he could watch for Ethan or any other humans that he might deem dangerous.

Moonlight Moor and Callaquoia crowded in near Xenarona.

Xena

Xena herself was back into season. Her tail flicked as she eyed the surroundings.

Onok

Brennik was distraught over the loss of his brother, but knew better than to defy his father. After all, the last time he snuck away... the herd lost two of their foals. Restlessly, the yearling grazed near his mother and Moonlit, while keeping an eye on Loki, as if afraid he might lose his last sibling as well.

In all the fuss, Onok had caught scent of Xenarona, and in the back of his mind felt that eager stirring to return to her. But with Thor and now Harthrou missing, he put aside his urges and set his mind to protecting his family. Once his son was safely found, he could approach Xena and worry about siring the next generation.

Her nostrils flared but went to grazing
