Starscream
He truly did love his family, but the young, strong-willed wolf would never be satisfied as anything short of the alpha position. It was a trait he no doubt inherited from both parents; it was just too bad he didn't get a bit more of Vestige's self control rather than his mother's hot-blood and short temper. Still, his personality was a decent one, with plenty of confidence and just enough muscle on his 115 pound frame to back up his bite.
After trekking around the Valley, the white and grizzled wolf had finally settled for the Shimmer Valley region. Not too terribly far from the Aspen Grove, and in a rather sheltered area that would help shield him and his hopefully-soon-to-be pack from humans and the bitter strains of the Valley's larger animal groups. After a thoroughly, four hour tour of the land, spent marking this area and that, Starscream perched himself on a low knoll and turned his muzzle upwards. Almond eyes turned for the clouds about as he issued a long, piercing howl... this land was his.
Nachi
With the Shadow Haunters settling into a new leader and adjusted way of life, Cavan had little time to keep an eye out on his deranged sister. His high place of power in the pack had kept her safe, and surprisingly, she hadn't gotten herself into too much trouble in the past two years. However, today was to mark a... change in the wolfess. With a non-descript grizzled brown and gray coat, Nachi didn't look remarkable or outstanding in anyway. It was her eyes, light yellow and glimmering, that held a little something more in them.
Brazenly padding along the edges of the land, Nachi went about reading up on the young fellow trying to claim the area. He was young... pure wolf... seemed healthy... and he was alone. How often now adays did she get the chance to come across some fresh blood, without them being part of some monster pack? Smiling to herself, the wolfess brazenly crossed the border and headed deeper into the territory, not bothering to keep down wind or to hide her scent from Starscream.
Starscream
Starscream had to admit, as much as he didn't like to accept the fact, that he was just a little nervous about claiming this land. He was ready to go fang to fang with anyone that tried to defy him, but he knew he couldn't possibly go against any of the larger packs if they decided they wanted this land. So it was with that touch of anxiety that his perked ears listened for any response to his call...
It was also why, when he didn't hear a response, but rather smelled one, that Starscream instantly set out to meet this wondering fae with a bit of hope singing in his heart. Nose to the ground, it didn't take but a fifteen minute sprint to follow and catch up to Nachi, whereupon he instantly raised his proud head and tail, "Who are you?" Amber eyes passed briefly over the brownish coat of the wolf, before landing on her face and locking onto her own gaze, "I'm Starscream, alpha of this land."
Nachi
Unlike her battered, slightly defective brother, Nachi possessed rather keen senses. Scent might not be on her side at the moment, with the wind in Starscream's favor, but the wolfess had her ears tuned like radars to every little sound, and it was easy to pick up on the approach of the alpha. Smiling again to herself, Nachi had traveled on at an easy lope, stopping at the edge of an icy-cold stream before her pursuer had caught up. Feigning naivety, Nachi was just finishing lapping at the waters when Scream trekked out of the brush and towards the rocky shoreline to address her.
"I..." Whirling around as if caught off guard, Nachi pasted her ears back and whisked her tail low - not between her legs, but low enough to show her place, "...Nachi is my name." The wolfess was quick in her visual study of the brute - he looked strong, carried himself proud; perfect! "Alpha, you say?" Testing the other, Nachi raised her head ever so slightly, not bringing it above shoulder level yet, "I'm sorry, I didn't realize this was your land... "
Starscream
The very first impression that Starscream had was of how Nachi wasn't showing complete and utter submission; from anyone else, this might have irked the young, brash male, especially since this was his first day in his new home, and he was... a little nervous, understandably. However, there was something about the underlying boldness of this female that intrigued Scream, and rather than puff himself up and bare fang, he actually relaxed a little and bobbed in head in acknowldgement of her name, "Yeah, solo alpha, at the moment." Not one to beat around the bush, Starscream went ahead and asked right off the bat, "If you're looking for a home, you're welcome to join me."
Nachi
Lifting herself a little now that they'd crossed the barrier from 'intruder' to 'potential member', Nachi felt it safe enough to ease up on his submissive posturing. Ears still placidly held back, the sly wolfess brought her muzzle forward, slipping it up to brush briefly under the other's chin and neck in a show of loyalty and... maybe just a subtle hint of affection. Just as quickly, Nachi drew back, "I'll take you on your offer, Star." Her tail gave a faint wave, and her tawny-brown muzzle lifted a little in a faint smile.
