Glider

Glider had waited for the return of Shadow, their solo alpha. She had not returned since the fight in the Emerald Pines territory. Glider sprinted across a creek, splashing up the cold water as he ran. The beta slowed down and loped towards a cluster of maple saplings, all similar in hight. He howled out, calling his mate.

Storm Alarm

Storm Alarm wasn't slow to respond. She gave a short howl in response, and soon came bounding up to her mate. She slowed down, dipping her muzzle down slightly, as she nuzzled him. "Why do you call me?"

Glider

Nuzzling her back, he spoke, "We should be the alphas. The pack needs order, and Shadow has not returned." Glider looks at his mate hopefully. He knew that Jais might try to become alpha if he didn't.

Storm Alarm

She nodded, "Yes, we should be the alphas. Someone else would claim it soon anyway." Storm Alarm tilted her muzzle up and let out a deep howl, that rose strong. She was challenging the other she-wolves in her pack, telling them she was now the Alpha.

Glider

He howled out as well, deeper than his mate, and just as strong. Glider challenged Jais, though he was sure his son wouldn't fight him. He claimed the alpha position until another might challenge him.
