*Scents*

A unique, hearty, and slightly sweet scent travels through the air, coming from somewhere near a lazy bend in the creek.

Shadow Star & Caritha

The sweet scent found its way to Caritha's sensitive nares, and roused the yearling from her nap. Her nose twitched and she lifted her head, mouth already beginning to water. "Shadow? Shadow, you smell that?" She asked her friend who'd been snoozing a yard away. "Smells heavenly... lets check it out, and can bring some of it back for Cynical." She was up and on her paws without awaiting an answer, tail wagging and mouth parted in an eager pant. After studying the breeze a moment or two longer, Caritha got her bearings straight and began a brisk lope in the direction it was coming from.

Shadow took his time with a stretch, flexing all four limbs out as he lay on his side. "Smell what? What about Cynical?" A yawn took him then, and by the time that had subsided and he lifted his head, all he saw was Caritha's tail disappearing in the trees. "Ohh, that smell." And then it hit him too. Shadow Star pulled himself up, shook a few bits of moss from his fur, and let out a loose howl for Cynical and the others, letting them know they'd found something of interest. "Caritha, wait up!" And then he too was off, sprinting after his friend.

Aizen

Aizen was out hunting for the pack currently. He missed his father the haunters but this was for the best. He wanted to find a new mate he had to.

Cynical was sleeping when the howl woke her and the now teenager ran after their scents and the strange scent.

*Scent*

The three would eventually come across a log laying beside the bank of the creek. A foot away from the log there was a strange, tan-brown glob of... something laying amongst the scattered leaves. The delicious scent was coming from this.

Shadow Star & Caritha

Caritha was trotting down the edge of the broad creek when Cynical's distinct three-pawed steps caught her ear. She stopped to look back, tail wagging furiously at the sight of her sibling. "Cynical! You smell that too? I don't know what it is, but I definitely want to try some." She waited for her sister to catch up before trotting forward again, heading towards the log.

Shadow had paused too, though Cynical seemed as adapted to her condition as her father, and it didn't take her long to catch up with the two of them. "Over there, by that log - I think that's where it's coming from." Shadow announced, before he moved in closer to the fallen tree and spotted the weird brown glob on the ground. "What... is that?"

Cynical

She followed and heded to the log. Imma touch it!She said and move up to it an with her paw made to poke it.

*Scent*

Leaves exploded up from the ground when Cyncial moved towards the curiously yummy-smelling glob by the log, and immediately she'd feel a terribly pressure against three of her toes. As the leaves settled, the source of the discomfort would be clear - her paw was caught in a leg-hold trap. The bare metal jaws were clamped painfully tight around her digits, with no way to simply pull them free. The trap itself was affixed to the massive log with two bolts.

Shadow Star & Caritha

Caritha and Shadow Star had followed right along side Cynical, with Caritha being at her side when her sister made the ill-fated step. Leaves, dirt, and bits of the paste pelted her face and chest, and she yelped purely from fright and jumped backwards. "What was that?!"

Shadow had been just a step behind them when the trap went off. He recovered quickly from his fright and moved forward to inspect the yearlings, not yet realizing that Cynical was in dire trouble. "You two okay?"

Cynical

She yelped in shock then howled in pain as she couldn't pull away from it. The pain shooting throughh er leg was painful and she struggled to no degree it only hurt worse.

Shadow Star & Caritha

"Oh no, Cyn!" Seeing her sister's paw caught, Caritha rushed forward and began to chew on the side of the trap. Her teeth were no match for the metal, but that didn't stop the young wolf from trying.

Shadow Star circled around the two, tail tucked and ears back as he anxiously eyed the metal jaws clamped so tightly around his packmate's toes. "I- I think it's a human trap. My parents told me about them when I was younger."

Cynical

She grew tired now as she lay there her foot trapped. Human? the two leggers? will hey come back? wha twill they do with meShe whimpered

Shadow Star & Caritha

Caritha tried gnawing on the chain, then scratching at the log where it had been staked into, but it was to no avail. She wrinkled her lips and flicked her tongue out a few times, trying to rid herself of the bitter, metallic taste the trap left on her pallet. "Why would a two-legger do this? How can we get her out?"

Shadow went from pacing to sitting down in front of the exhausted Cynical. "I'm not really sure." He hung his head, brows pinched in concern. "I know they're bad, that's what my parents always told me, but I don't really know much about them."

Cynical

She whined panting her toes hurt so bad
