Sedge Fur
Returning from the rendezvous site, Sedge Fur paces before a giant cedar tree before howling out to his pack, "Moon Eyes no longer belongs to our pack, he ahs betrayed us! If you catch him here, drive him away!"
Shadow
Shadow padded up..hunger satisfied. She stopped to listen to Sedge Fur's announcement and silently agreed with him. She continued on and came up behind him. She sat down quietly to see if he would notice her.
Sedge Fur
He hears the winds change ever so slightly behind him, so he turns around quickly and waves his tail happily when he realizes it was Shadow. "Hello! Our pack is down to five, but is till the largest of any pack around."
Shadow
Shadow nods and sits beside him. "And under the leadership of the best Alpha Male." She smiles at him.
Sedge Fur
He smiles, then replies "And the best Alpha Female." About to say something else, Sedge Fur pauses as the wind brings a strange scent to his nose. Pups! But they were Storm Alarm's and Glider's, the betas. Sedge Fur cricks his tail slightly and looks toward Shadow, curious if she caught the scent message. Had they asked her for permission if they could have pups? They certainly didn't ask him.
Shadow
Shadow saw him pause and the confused expression on his maw. She lifted her nose a bit higher then suddenly caught the scent. She wiggled her nose a bit and brought it back down. She looked at Sedge fur and shook her head clarifying that she had known nothing about it either.
Sedge Fur
So they hadn't asked for permission. But there were pups! "Should we go see them?" he questions, a bit excited to see the new pups. But he didn't know if it would be too early.
Shadow
Shadow slightly shakes her head,"Not yet. They are too young and Storm Alarm may be protective of them." She tilted her head,"Most mothers are." She sat down,"Anyways I need to inform you of something I've done." She looks at him waiting for a response.
Sedge Fur
He sat down also, a bit dejectedly, but still happy. He looks at Shadow quickly after she was done speaking, "What is that?"
Shadow
Shadow turned her left ear sideways,” I hope you don't mind but I've made an alliance with a bear named Thunders call. In turn for helping him with food he will help us when the pack is in need." She turned her other ear back and looked directly into his eyes.
Sedge Fur
"A bear? I suppose that will help us, especially if another pack invades our territory." his eyes are thoughtful, but he was a bit nervous about having an alliance with a bear. None-the-less, he would trust Thunder's Call until proven otherwise.
Shadow
Shadow brightens,” I thought so also. But don't worry about him. I'll keep him in order!" She smiled and licked Sedge Fur's cheek.
Sedge Fur
He smiles and nuzzles Shadow in turn. Their pack was doing well!
Shadow
Shadow kept smiling. Then stopped for a moment thinking. "Have you heard from or of Silver at all?"
Sedge Fur
He shook his head, "No, I haven't. The last I heard of him was when we agreed to an alliance. That was a while ago... should we howl to his pack?"
Shadow
Shadow flicked one of her ears. "I say wait just a little while. Until Storm Alarms pups are just a bit older and Storm Alarm can more around."
Sedge Fur
"You're right, it would be wise to wait until then." He suddenly looks toward the direction of the Pyrola Field's territory, hearing a faint gunshot. He hoped Silver had gotten his message about the humans, if he were still there.
