*Human*

The human walked into the area after spotting signs of wolves here and there. He was older and experienced in hunting.

Maverick*Ebony Escape

Bruja wasnt really paying any attenion to where she was going. Slowly with her head to the ground she wadded out into the open area. Her raven companioin flew above her.

*Human*

He froze, spotting the wolf as she headed out into the open. His eyes turned up towards the raven and he held his breath, almost in a superstitious way. The man knew many people have spoken of the relationship between wolves and ravens, and he had seen it before. He didn't know of course just how good of a bond this particular raven had with this wolf.

He slowly raised his gun. With years of experience to guide him, he aimed it at her and fired.

Nightcrawler

The sound of the gun blast caught the wolf's attention, and he came running from the place where Verita and he were stalking a moose. He knew how this shiny 'sticks' shot out deadly rocks with fire. They had killed Tornado's brother and hurt his mate. And now Maverick was in trouble.

Knowing it was suicide to rush straight at the human, Nightcrawler made a swift cut through dense foliage, hoping the hunter wouldn't hear or see his dark form slipping through the shadows. Without checking his pace, the lean wolf attempted to lunge at the human from behind and seize the back of his.

Maverick*Ebony Escape

Ebony looked over just as the human lifted up the thing in his hands. Raven dove down jus as the shot was fired. Maverick was startled but threw her bodice to the ground to get out of the way. Ebony dove down as the bullet headed to Maverick's rump. He tryed to get to her rump before the bullet got to her.

*Human*

Even for his more advanced age, the man had keen senses still. He heard Nightcrawler's swift approach. Whirling around, he found the wolf had gained a surprising amount of ground on him and the man had no time to aim a shot. But when Nightcrawler lunged, the man had already brought his gun up, then smashed it down at the wolf's head, sending him stunned to the ground. The man quickly aimed for a shot at the dazed wolf and fired.

Vivek

The adolescent wolf had tracked the man as he left the No Wolf Zone. He wasn't able to reach him before he fired at Maverick, but he did get there just as he hit Nightcrawler. With raging snarl, he launched his body through the air aimed to grasp the human's arm and throw him to the ground; hopefully altering his shot.

Tahirah & Kivo

Kivo took off to attack the human when Nightcrawler did, but with his shorter, stockier build, he wasn't nearly as fast as the lithe wolf. He reached the scene moments after his friend was struck with the gun. With furious barks and growls, he plowed straight for the man, ready to grip his upper leg and help pull him to the ground.

Tahirah was quicker than her brother and reached the place a bit sooner. But seeing that Kivo and Vivek were after the human, she hurried over to Maverick, "Are you ok? Lets get to cover!" she barked out, hoping both were alright.

Maverick*ebony Escape

Maverick jumped up without thinking about the consequences of getting right in the way of the bullet, she turned to run back the way she came, but it was so late. The bullet struck her in the side, she lost her footing and collapsed after rolling over a few times. Blood began to soak her pelt as her breathing became harsh and slow. Ebony's orbs opened wide as he saw Maverick get hit, he flew up then dove down aiming to hit the man square in the face.

Nightcrawler

He kicked out at the air for a moment as he lay on the ground, quite dazed and surprised by the sudden and hefty blow. The deafening boom and a fiery-hot pain in his leg brought him to his senses quite effectively. The dark-hued wolf came to his feet with laid back ears and bared fangs. Letting up pressuring on his bullet-wounded leg, he lunged for the man again, snapping at his abdoman.

*Human*

The man brought the gun swiftly upwards as Vivek attacked, smashing the gun under the young wolf's jaws and making him miss his attack. But he could only do so much at a time. Kivo got a hold of his leg and the man kicked, trying to shake him off. He swung his gun around to strike the pit bull in the head. Then the raven was at his face, forcing the man to close his eyes and swat out at the bird. If he got a hold of Ebony, he'd break a wing or leg.

Nightcrawler had attacked now, lunging for his mid and knocking him down. Unable to shot his gun with one hand, much less see to aim it, the man swung it with all his might against the wolf at his stomach. The black wolf's fangs tore through muscel and would soon reach the internal organs.

Tahirah & Kivo

Tahirah ran quickly to Maverick's side, pulling her ears back at the sight and scent of fresh blood. "Oh no!" she whimpered and nudged the fallen wolf. "Are you hurt bad? Can you stand?" the pit bull asked with concern.

Kivo sunk his fangs in deep, refusing to let go. He thrashed his muscular body with all his furious might to cause as much damage as possible. He yelped when he was struck on the head, but he could take the pain.

Vivek

He yelped, nearly biting his tongue when his jaws were struck so hard by the gun. Scrambling, the young wolf kept on his feet and launched himself at the now fallen man. With his hackles bristled, Vivek went for the throat and a deadly bite.

Nightcrawler

He sprung back to avoid the strike, wincing only slightly at the pain in his leg. Seeing that Vivek was going for the killing move, Nightcrawler dashed forward to seize the human's arm that carried the gun. The furious wolf would crush the bones if he could get a good enough grip.

*Human*

There was no experience the man could call upon now to save himself. He had done all he could in face of the outraged pack and now he braced the end. He struggles were ended abruptly when his neck was broken.

Nightcrawler

He stood over the slain body and looked over to Maverick. "Help her to the Woodland Farm if she needs." he ordered, to no one in particular. He felt he didn't have quite the rank to be giving out orders, so he didn't name off anyone. "I'm going to search out the others and make sure the alphas are alright." the wolf bounded off, limping only slightly.
