Taiya
Borders are a sacred plane amongst the wolf population. During her sojourn as a loner, Taiya had been overly cautious about territory lines. The wolves of the Valley didn't take so easily to trespassers, even if it was a genuine accident. In a Valley where everything was direly precious, wolves were savage about keeping their territories prim and safe from outsiders. The mere notion of crossing over territory lines into Crucifix's home was a bit strange for the she-wolf at first. She arrives nearly escorted by the big black brute, but she still can't shake the slight abnormality to this. Taiya hadn't purposefully been within the walls of a territory in a number of years.
The meadows, which would one day be abundant with flowers, were mostly soggy and snow-capped. Taiya gazes out over the flat-land, impressed. Her mind imagines the vivid colors of the spring-time flowers, and deep emerald grass that would soon take over. It was a nice place. Home. The word played across Taiya's thoughts almost humorously. Had she really accepted the invitation to make this her home? The concept of home, paired against her perpetual wandering, was foreign. Taiya chuckled softly to herself, scoffing her thoughts. That's what several elongated seasons alone did to your brain. Finally, Taiya turns her mahogany eyes over to Crucifix with a soft smile. "It's a lovely place," she comments. She gives a little stretch to her travel-wary body before leaning back onto her haunches in a sitting position. "I like it."
Crucifix
Crucifix lead her occasinally stopping to remark his border. It is and will be. Come I will show you all the dens, forests, lakes, ponds and Taigas. he led her to the center of the meadow. This is the center of the meadows. Its already thawing out but is the main lake, you can fish in it if your agood fisherHe said before continuing on to show her a den not too far off which was connected to three others scattered around the lake.We only use these dens for sleeping as its too dangerously close to the lakehe said. He lead her to the forest to the east of the lake. This is the main forest and where one of our three pup raising dens are. There are four entrances to the denshe showed her each before continuing on. At the edge of the forest was a pond. As they walked across the tundra he came to a halt. Now this is a taiga or in simple terms its a forest that is marshy, so no pups are allowed here and adults need to use caution and preferably after the snow melts or its raining we avoid itHe said calmly.
Taiya
The taiga reminds Taiya of her first home. In the territory where she had been raised. Wet, marshy ground. Springtime rains, coupled with the melting masses of snow, made for flooded areas. The black she-wolf gazes out across the mass of water, unblinking and lost in her own thoughts. She remembered how finnicky her mother had been about her siblings and her during the springtime. Pups could easily drown in even shallower areas of water. Her brothers used to dare one another to wade into the waters when they were several months old, an action that once brought punishment to the whole litter for their foolish darings.
She shovels the juvenile thoughts of her family, wondering briefly how they are, before turning to look at Crucifix once more. "It's quiet..." she muses, knowing Crucifix had mentioned earlier the dissipation of his pack. Her comment is a mixture of sadness and distant curiosity. "But, rebuild. One day, this place will be more of a home than an empty territory," she optimistically adds, brown eyes glimmering.
Crucifix
He hated the silence his once large home use to be filled with an array of animals all fighting for him and themselves. He remembered many who even came upon his lands like starscream when they were preparing for war they had traveled here gathered a few of his pack that wouldn't be fighting and went to get starscreams mothers and pups that would be guarded here with his own.
I hope to find others, whether they be family or otherHe said.
Taiya
Gazing out over the water, at first Taiya is unaware of the distance growing between her and Crucifix. Finally she directs her attention towards him, recognizing the look of nostalgia clouding his face. The she-wolf takes a few steps forward, poking Crucifix gently on his shoulder with her nose in a gesture of comfort. "Be more optimistic," she hums with a glow in her eyes, "The Valley is at peace right now. There is so much to be hopeful for...besides, you have one friend in me!" Her tail wags softly, a warm chuckle erupting from her chest. She wanted Crucifix to lighten up and relax. The big, tough exterior he conveyed was fitting for an alpha, but also tiring to constantly see. Not to mention, he had to be tired of putting on a face like that all the time.
Crucifix
He just wished he had kept track of his pack better. He had followed some steal scents finding nothing mostly. Small amounts he came across them deceased. He returns to the present when he feels her touch and he lets out a sigh. Sorryhe says calmly and smiles a little at the friend part. hopefully peace will remainhe said.
Taiya
The sun peaks out from behind a cloud, shedding temperate warmth on the duo at the water's edge. Taiya's eyes flutter close as she relishes the feeling, a soft sight emitting from her chest. Finally she opens her eyes to gaze back at Crucifix, humming softly. She takes a moment to ponder her next maneuver before leaping to her paws. Brashly, she pokes her nose into Crucifix's side. "Your it"," She jeers, before leaping away in a sprint. "Come on, catch me if you can!" The she-wolf takes off into a small wooded area, panting with delight in hopes that Crucifix is following. She wants him to lighten up, and reviving a pups' game is juvenile but Taiya decides necessary to liven up the brute. She dives under some old bracken, crouching low so that hopefully Crucifix misses her hiding spot. Holding her breath, Taiya waits for him, hoping he'd taken to her game.
Crucifix
He yawned as he soaked up the cuns rays. Then he felt her poke and heard her words. He didn't much grow up playing games. He andhis siblings rough housed. However; he had watched others play. At first he just watcehd her run off then he supposed for a little to entertain her and took off after her. He did pass her but came right back around and touched her hip before running off himself.
Taiya
Patiently, the she-wolf remains in her hiding spot. For a good amount of time, she suspects that she's fooled Crucifix. Just when her ego begins to take over, she hears the thud of his pawsteps on the dead leaves. The she-wolf desperately tries to weasel out of her hiding place before a nose presses into her hip. Taiya yelps with surprise, giving a huff. "Damn, I thought I had you," She curses to herself, squeezing out from under the bracken. There's mud and dead leaves sticking to her underbelly, something she remedies with a good shake to her fur. Crucifix has taken off by now, and Taiya sets off after him.
Taiya streaks after the big wolf, galloping down a small hill. Her paws overturn at a rapid rate until she losses control. Taiya falters, trying to plant her front paws and come to a halt, but gravity gets the better of her. She's flung forward, tumbling until the ground levels out. For a moment, Taiya stares up at the sky before rolling onto her side with a breathless huff. Her head is still spinning, and she's completely lost her pursuit of Crucifix. She collects herself to a sitting position, looking up at the wooded area around her. "I think this means I lost the game," she muses to herself.
Crucifix
He chuckled.Sometimes hiding isn't the best solutionhe says as he took off. he had run down the slope with ease knowing the land gave him an advantage. However; his ears flick back and he comes to a halt watching her knowing there wasn't much he could do to help her. He padds back over to her and chuckles.I dare say it doeshe said.
Taiya
The she-wolf gives Crucifix a look of contempt, embarrassed by her loss but still in good spirits. Her heart still hammers from the run, blood coursing through Taiya's body with excitement. She chuckles herself, giving a little pout. "I don't normally lose games I start, so you better be proud of yourself," She states with a wag to her tail. "But I'll know this place better next time, so watch out." She winks, bumping her hip against Crucifix's. She stretches, stifling a yawn. It's been a long day, and it's starting to take its toll on Taiya. A nap sounds fantastic, and maybe a meal sooner than later.
Crucifix
He just chuckles. When he sees her yawn he too knows its time to sleep. "Come on I'll show you the safest place to sleep" he said and headed into the woods. Where he stopped was a large bolder, with only one way up it which he climbed the almost stair like way. He would let her lay down and then he'd lay so if anyone came up they'd face him first. "Get some sleep" he said closing his own eyea
Taiya
Following Crucifix, the she-wolf bounds over the terrain, further observing the place she'd now call home. At the bolder, Taiya's tail wags as she treks to join Crucifix at the top. She holds her breath for a moment, eyes sweeping across the wooded area with a lilt of elation. The world seems so different, even only a couple feet further up. Her excitement is quickly overshadowed by the pressing exhaustion, the she-wolf dipping her body down. She curls her black body into a fox-like ball, her tail curled around her nose. Taiya gazes up at Crucifix with her mahogany eyes, a small smile playing on her lips as her eyelids flutter close.
Crucifix
He fell into a light sleep. It was his duty to protect his pack so he couldn't let a predator or threat slip through.
Taiya
The she-wolf waits a little while, her mind dancing along the fine lines of slumber and hazy consciousness, before absent-mindedly scooting her frame close to Crucifix's. She presses her black fur into his in attempt to both share her body warmth, and greedily steal his. All the while, she never opens her eyes, and melts into the protective oversight of the brute.
Crucifix
When they woke they would hunt and then perhaps send up calls to try to locate family members his and hers. He wanted his pack strong and healthy again. He felt her move into him and he was fine. He had no aversion to close quarters for sharing warmth. Thankfully the days were getting longer and it was getting warmer during the day but night time the tempatures plumeted still
