*Hatchlings*
Two eggs beneath Black Feather begin to move. After a while, a black beak breaks a hole through one egg, and soon after, the chick within is able to free herself. The other egg does like-wise, and a male hatches from it! They peep and nip with their beaks at Black Feather. One of the three eggs hasn't hatched, and there is no movement from it.
Black Feather
He is startled when they peep and nip at him, and his feather go flat against his body in alarm. Black Feather steps away from the fledglings, and looks around for Darkstorm. He didn't know what to do for them! They needed food... something around water, maybe, since that's where they were found. He didn't want to leave them alone though, so he gave a falcon cry to summon Darkstorm.
Tornado
A young wolf, almost full grown, wanders into the area. He was nearly starved and his ribs showed obviously from his ragged pelt. Tornado caught scent of Black Feather and the egg and loon chicks, and slinked toward them. He was very hungry, and would be more than willing to put up a fight with a sharp taloned falcon to get some food.
He suddenly charged towards them, then leapt, ready to land his large paw down upon the falcon to crush him...
Darkstorm
Hearing Black Feather's call, Darkstorm charges towards them. Seeing Tornado, the large male snarls and runs faster, then throws himself at Tornado in an attempt to get him away from Black Feather and the loon chicks and still not harm anyone but the other wolf.
Tornado
Tornado doesn't notice Darkstorm until it's too late, and is hurled sprawling across the ground when the larger wolf collides with him. He was not fully grown yet, and weak from lack of food. He had been caught trespassing again on another's domain, something he should have learned his lesson before from Firewalker.
A bit shocked by the attack, Tornado whimpers out his submission, cringing frightfully against the ground in fear of this larger male.
Black Feather
At first, Black Feather snaps open his beak, prepared to defend the loons and himself as best as he could with his razor sharp beak. But after Darkstorm comes by, the falcon flattens out against the ground instinctively, and spreads his dark wings over the chicks.
Darkstorm
Darkstorm takes a step away from Tornado, growling.
"Are you and the loon chicks alright?" he asks Black Feather, turning to look at the falcon but watching Tornado out of the corner of his eye.
Black Feather
He relaxes his feathers and looks up at Darkstorm, "Yeah, we're alright. I was just about to find them some food, but I thought I'd wait until you came... that little wolf would have eaten them if you hadn't come!"
Darkstorm
Darkstorm growls at Tornado again, fur bristling in anger. He then relaxes a little, and looks back at Black Feather.
"Alright. Er.. What do the loon chicks eat?"
Tornado
He casts a weary glance up at Darkstorm, then looks quickly back to the ground. "I... I'm really sorry... I didn't know he was... um.. your friend? I was so hungry! Please forgive me!" The young wolf cringes closer to the ground, still fearful of attack.
Black Feather
"Well... something around water, I guess. Maybe stuff like water grasses, or moss, or fish, or frogs... maybe we should get a variety of things around the water and see what they eat of it." Black Feather turns his sharp gaze to Tornado, watching him for a moment while he spoke. The falcon shifted his weight over the loon chicks and folds his wings back over his sides. "Should I fly to the lake to get some things for them?"
Darkstorm
Darkstorm nods at Black Feather.
"Okay. But be careful, alright? And be wary of other wolves." he says, then glances at Tornado.
"Never harm any of my friends ever again." he says, showing his teeth.
Tornado
He catches sight of the teeth and pins his light ears back further. "I won't." he replies timidly, then turns tail and dashes off in hopes of locating food elsewhere.
Black Feather
"I'll be right back!" Black Feather blacks his sharp wings vigorously, hopping up and down before he finally takes to the sky. He circles around once, watching Tornado leave, then flies off toward Pike's Lake.
Black Feather
The falcon returns, carrying a small blue gill in one talon, and a frog in the other. He also holds some grasses from his beak. Black Feather lands heavily beside the 'nest', then picks himself up and struggles to drag the food over to the loon chicks. He nudges the three items over to them, hoping they would know what they were suppose to eat... then he would tear it into smaller pieces for them.
*Loon Chicks*
They bobbed their heads a bit weakly because they hadn't eaten anything. the scent of the fish and frog, though, made them peep and dip their heads down toward it. One loon pecks at the frog, and the other one tests the fish. Their small black beaks were incapable of tearing the food.
