Black Feather
The Peregrine Falcon soars over the area, surveying it. He sees that there are many bodies of water, but he can't see any wolves. This would be a suitable place to raise the loons. Black Feathers circles back and flies off to tell Darkstorm.
Black Feather
The falcon returns, scanning the terra carefully while circling around a lake, waiting for Darkstorm to arrive.
Snowstar
Approaches and growls at it. " Who are you? What are you doing in my land? Are you a trespasser? Speak now! Or forever would hold your peace!" * She glared...*
Darkstorm
Darkstorm swiftly trots in, carrying the loon eggs, then gently puts the eggs down as he sees Snowstar. He trots over to Snowstar. "Hello, m'lady, my friend," he motions at Black Feather, "and I were looking for a place to raise those loons." He motions at the eggs. "If you let us raise them here and don't harm them, we would gladly join your pack."
Black Feather
Black Feather lands on the ground and steps over the eggs. He spreads his long, dark wings over them protectively, and watches Snowstar to ensure she doesn't harm the eggs.
Snowstar
" Alright then. I'm looking forward to see them grow up also since I have an interest in living things. If you need anything, please tell me or inform me if anything happens of any sort. And I welcome you. Hope you'll feel like home here." * And with that she smiled and left.*
Darkstorm
Darkstorm nods to Black Feather.
"I suppose we're a part of this pack now. Please respect everyone in the pack. Now, where should we keep the eggs?" He glances around the area.
Black Feather
"I will..." he replies, and lowers his wings. Black Feather hops closer to the lake he located earlier and searches the edge of it. "We could build a nest for them at this pond, like they had at Pike's Lake." the falcon picks at a grass blade near the water, for no particular reason.
Darkstorm
Darkstorm nods, following Black Feather.
"Yeah." He says, then pauses a moment, sniffs the air(strange, he smelled something other than wolves at the den site..)then shrugs it off as nothing. "How do ya make a nest?"
Black Feather
Black Feather glances up at Darkstorm, curious about what he smelt. He didn't have a keen sense of smell. But his curiosity vanished quickly as he realized he didn't know how to make a nest for the loon eggs. In his mind, a nest should be up high on a cliff, and didn't need a real 'nest' made of grasses and such.
The falcon hesitated. "Ummm... well..." he paused again, glancing around. "I think we should just put them on the ground by the water, and I'll sit on them. That loon mother didn't know what she was doing! Having a nest on the ground... they should be up somewhere safe...like a cliff or something..." Black Feather trailed off, then shook his head to clear his thoughts, "I'll just sit on them here. They'll be alright in these reeds where no one can see me sitting on them."
Darkstorm
Darkstorm nods.
"Okay. Umm.. Can I go investigate? I smell something weird. In the den area. Kinda like.. Cougar? No way.." Darkstorm scents the air again, trying to determined the scent.
Black Feather
He tilts his head, "Sure... but what's a cougar? It's a funny name." he says as he settles of the eggs, flattening his feathers down to better camouflage himself.
Darkstorm
"A cougar is a big, strong cat. I don't smell a mother, though, just cubs. Very strange.. Perhaps it was killed.." he says, scenting the air again.
Black Feather
"Oooo, I see. Maybe they can be part of the pack! But... hey, don't cats attack birds?" Black Feather shifts his feather slightly, remembering back to when a lynx strayed close to their nest. Black Feather's mother had warned them about cats.
Darkstorm
Darkstorm shrugs.
"Maybe if they're young, I can teach them to not attack birds."
Black Feather
"That would be neat! To have big cats on our side." Black Wing shifts his weight on the eggs, and is careful not to rake them with his talons.
