Solange

The buck trotted lightly back to his terra. He had gotten word from Meteor about the move, and knew from previous explorations where the Oak Prairie land was. He stopped near Elk Stand lake and dipped his heavily-antlered head down to sip at the cool waters. His eyes roved over the dark waters and he shivered. He didn't know just how deep the lake was, but it's darkness showed it must be remarkably far down.

Finished with his quick drink, Solange pulled his head back up and gave a short call, hoping to locate his friends. He wanted them to meet Orchid and Thorn, and hopefully Buck as well.

Thorn

The yearling doe tottered along after Solange on her spindly legs. Every w and again she would stop and look back to see if her mother was close behind. She came up next to him near the lake and watched him drink from the swirling mass of darkness. She shivered and ran back towards Orchid her adopted mother. (You could tell she was adopted as she and her mother were different, she was a white-tailed fawn and Orchid was a red deer hind.) She smiled warily up at her mother before watching Solange call out. She lifted her ears and listened, whilst looking around her to see what would happen. She looked back to see if the new buck had followed before watching Solange again.

Orchid

She traveled after Solange while her senses remained on Thorn and the surroundings. Like many hinds, she was very curious yet wary of new places, espcially with her little yearling with her. "Do you like our new, home, Thorn?" Orchid questioned before turning her large eyes to rove the land around. She couldn't wait to meet the others.

Bramble

Bramble had heard Solange's call, though he hadn't gotten the chance to meet this buck yet. Wanting to find out who this fellow was, the yearling wandered away from Wycliff's side and began to travel across the land and heading towards him. He was a white-tail, and carried a distinctive splash of black on his muzzle. His mother and twin sister had been killed recently, but he was lucky enough to find Wycliff, who adopted him.

Moving closer, Bramble noticed the other fawn now, and the hind. He stopped and craned his head forward, studying them. Then, slowly, the yearling began to trot nearer to the trio.

Thorn

The white-tailed yearling looked up at her mother and smiled.

Yeah it's great!

Ears were pricked and she streached up as far as she could to see the landscape. Optics rolled as she looked around and her gaze came to rest on another yearling. She looked curiously at him before she smiled and ran over. She stopped in front of him and gazed at him with kind eyes. She spoke in a timid voice.

Hi, I'm Thorn.

She looked back to her mother and Solange, the buck who had brought them here. She grinned before looking back at the fawn.

Nhosh, Solange, & Wycliff

Two red deer came trotting swiftly towards the group. One was a large stag with strange antlers; he was a 'switch', the common term for stags that had no tines on their antlers. The way he held his head and looked about in confidence showed his position in this herd; he was the lead. "Greetings."

Solange bowed his head to Nhosh, "Greetings. This is Orchid, and her adopted fawn, Thorn. Orchid, Thorn, this is Nhosh. Our lead."

Nhosh looked to both of the newcomers, "Good, good." He murmured, "Welcome to the herd. It is nice to have two fine does. I'm sure you'll be very happy here." The lead assured, then glanced curiously at Bramble.

Thats when the second red deer made it to the group. Like Nhosh and Solange, she too carried a strange look. Her fur was 90% white, for she was piebald. Her legs were a bit shorter than the average hind, and her muzzle seemed a bit arched. "Bramble!" She called out, hurring over to the fawn and nuzzling him. "Why, hello." The hind said, smiling to Thorn.

Solange spoke up once more, "And this is Wycliff, the lead hind. Wycliff, this is Orchid and Thorn." The buck introduced the group once more.

Wycliff pulled her head up, "Very nice to meet you all!"

Thorn

The yearling was still waiting for the other fawns reply when two red deer arrived. She immediately backed away from bramble and lay down in the grass. She looked over to her mother before looking back to the two red deer. One a strong male, the other a hind, alot like her mother apart from the fact she was almost completely white. She watched petrified as the buck came toards the group but relaxed as he spoke kindly to them. She let down her guard completely when she heard the other hind speek. She stood up and appraoched Wycliff and Bramble once more. She spoke in a quiet tone to Wycliff and Nhosh.

Hello...I-i'm Thorn...

She managed a weak smile as her gaze then drifted to looking at Nhosh's antlers. She ran back to Orchid and went under her belly. It made her feel safe. She looked up at Solange, she prefered him as he was the first she had met. Still, she liked them all. She looked up at her mum before watching the two red deer and their fawn again.

Bramble

Bramble was a bit frightened as he gazed about at everyone, but he wanted to make friends more than anything. Tuning his wide eyes away from the adults, the yearling glanced to Thorn again, "Hello Thorn! He thought instantly of his perished sister when he saw this other yearling, and though it made him very sad, it also made him glad. Afterall, maybe he could make a new friend his age.

Thorn

She came out from beneath Orchid and began to slowly appraoch Bramble once more. Her optics, full of curiosity, stared at the yearling.

Hello...What's your name?

She watched him, her gaze sometimes switching to Solange, Nhosh, Wycliff and her mom. Her radars were alert for any reply from the fawn.

Bramble

"Bramble's my name." The youngster replied, returning Thorn's curious stare. "Say, you wanna play a game?" Bramble suddenly piped up, for he was the one who was always insiting play with his sister. He was rather bold at times.

Nhosh, Solange, & Wycliff

Nhosh watched the two fawns and smiled inwardly. It had been a long time since he had seen any fawns, and these were the first two in his herd. He was about to speak when a horse's whinny cut throught he air and caught up his attention. Knowing exactly who was calling, Nhosh spoke quickly, "Excuse me, I have business to attend to." Noding faintly, the stag turned and sprinted away from the group.

Wycliff smiled happily at her little Bramble and the other fawn, "I've got a better idea." Her eyes turned to Orchid now, "I think it would be good to teach them some on survival. " She waited to see what the other hind's response would be.

Solange watched the group silently, feeling quite at ease and happy with the events. Two new fawns in the herd! Yet he felt restless still.

Thorn

The young fawn smiled at the other yearling and nodded.

Sure!

She nudged him and began to run around on her spindly legs. On hearing Wycliff's next words the smile faded from her face.

Why?...

She looked at her mother pleadingly.

Do we have to?...

She walked back over slowly. Parents...they were no fun...

Orchid

She looked from Wycliff to Thorn, feeling a sudden delemna arise. But her mind went to work quickly, coming up with a solution, "We can play a game where you will learn about survival. How does that sound, my little Thorn?" The hind smiled pleasantly and casted a look to Bramble and, more importantly, to Wycliff, seeing what she would think of this.

Thorn

The yearlings look of dismay turned to happiness as she replied with enthusiasm.

Yeah!

She pranced back over to Bramble.

Come on!

She tottered towards her mother before looking back to Bramble and Wycliff.
