Viktor & Others

Viktor led his hunting party to the Oak Prairie. They stopped on the edge of the territory and waited. "This is it." He said quietly. "Don't kill any fawns or does. Just stags. Wait for my signal."

Along with him was Lark, Dimitri, Angela, Mika, and David.

Zack,Koyla,Kong,Sithy,Zahkar,Kenya,Luke,Sassy,Kilamanjaro,Sprinkles,Kanguskon and Chido

Zack rode up and stoped by the group. He could see the herd just off in the distance.

Koyla snorted and followed the group.

Kong snorted.

Chido one of the stags in the herd sensed something but could not smell it. He stomped a hoof and shook his head.He stood by his twin sister. They looked the same beside the antlers.

Sassy the doe stood by her brother grazing.

Kila and kanguskon were play headbutting. They had stubs for antlers but weren't oldenough to have antlers yet.

Sprinkles the young fawn watched them.

Nadezhda

Nadezhda stopped beside the humans and horses silently. She braced her feet on the ground and waited for a command from the humans. This was her first hunt, and she was excited. She was still serious though.

Viktor; *Deer*; Others

A group of deer stood some distance behind Chido. Most of them had never seen humans before and didn't know what to think. They had no idea what those guns were for. They knew, however, that they might be in danger.

Viktor sat on the horse, being as quiet as possible, watching the deer. "We'll let the dogs and cats have a go first. Just wait..." He whispered.

Anya and the others, including Kira and her cubs, stood beside the humans and their horses.

Nadezhda

Nadezhda watched the herd of deer silently. She licked her lips picturing them sink into the deers flesh. Then she waited for a command as patient as she could which wasn't much, but hey at least she wasn't running strait for them. She knew better Anya tear her from limb to limb.

Zack

He listened and watched.

Sithy crouched down ready to have a go and so did her kids.

Sassy now grew alert. She stood tall and stared at the distant figures. Her ears twitching. Her tail wagging.

Chido too had caught them and was watching them.He tossed his dial to attempt to scare them away.He smelt a cat with them and that scared him.

The young fawns were getting antsy

Viktor & Others

Viktor looked at the others. "We'll let the dogs and cats have a go too." He'd send only two or three at a time so they don't all get exhausted. He whistled and motioned for Anya, Sithy and Nadezhda to move out and attack a stag that was closest to them.

Anya went when Sithy and Nadezhda did, timing herself perfectly with them. Once she got close enough, she would attack a big stag.

The stag barked and bolted as fast as he could, trying to escape the dogs.

Sithy

Sithy looked to anya and Nadeshda and then bolted straight for the stag. She went to distract it while the other two attacked it.

Chido watched and then his tail went up and he began to move with the does and fawns heading to a bush thicket and then getting in a tight circle.

Nadezhda

Nadezhda growling leapt the same time as the others.Running on the left side of the stag she jumped up going for his neck, shoulders, or back. She attepted to stay clear of the hooves knowing they were dangerous.

Anya; *Deer*; Others

The stag tried to run faster and evade the dogs by zig-zagging, but wasn't fast enough for them. Thinking Sithy would attack, he tried to evade her, thus getting in the path of Anya and Nadezhda. Since they were coming from both sides, he had no chance and was brought down. He didn't go without a struggle, though. He slashed his antlers back and forth in an attempt to drive the dogs away. Before long, his struggle was over. His body went limp.

Anya barked and wagged her tail, dropping the dead deer on the ground.

Viktor jumped down and picked up the deer. "That's enough for now." He knew that the hunt had scared away most of the deer and, with the large number of hunters in the area, the herd might be eliminated in no time if they take out too many. "We have what we need." He put the deer on Tide's back and led the group back to the house.

Lark whistled for the animals and left. It was a disappointing day, but she knew that Viktor was careful about not taking too many deer. They had what they needed.

Blitz

Blitz stood browsing at the edge of the forest. Suddenly, a light breeze brought the scent of danger near. He jerked his head up immediatly. He could smell humans, cats, and dogs. All top predators. He went rigid with fear.

Suddenly they attacked. The animals went forward, chasing after one of the bucks. Blitz couldn't move from his spot at the edge of the woods. That was what saved him. If he had run, he would have been the closest target. But the animals ran the other buck down.

It was all horrible. The deer dragged down, the animals covering his body, and then the stag went limp. As the humans moved forward to collect their prize, Blitz slunk back into the forest, and then broke swiftly into a gallop, to escape the scene of horror before him.
