Singed
Heaving body, sides gapsing for air. The agony, oh that agony. Why was I still going on, traveling across this barren wasteland? That question dwindled in my mind for quit some time now, and I had no reasonable answer. My hooves touched the earth, the grass tickled my sweaty body. Keep going. Where was the inhabitants to this place? Had the valley been vanqished of all life? Would I have to trek further to find another herd. I need one. I needed deer like me. I was lonely, my heart broken into many, unreplacable pieces. Like a million-piece jigsaw puzzle. That was the worse agony of all. Just keep going... I thought grimly. Until you die.... I sank into the mud with my knees...who would be here, would someone capture a White Tail maiden and drag me away to become food? They wouldn't shoot a doe, correct? The animal that would supply next years trophey? Those humans were twisted, and sick. Why kill a White Tailed Deer, the most magestic animal in this world. Never less, a female. I shut out those thoughts, why be so grim tonight? I sighed, closing my eyes. Wouldn't my prince come to my rescue, any time soon.
Would I live in a world of silence and loneliness?
Tyree; Kazbek
The young sisters strayed away from their mother and brother when they noticed the foreign deer. Tyree stepped forward and bowed. "Hello. I'm Tyree, and this is my sister Kazbek. We're daughters of Everest and Sassy." She said politely. "Who are you?"
,hr> Huyen
With a coat as dark as wetted coal, Huyen stood out like a sore thumb in the light of winter. But in the dead of night, when the moon was hidden and the stars snuffed out by clouds, he was like a shadow. Where his late brother was built for bulk and fight, Huyen was smaller and more agile, and oh so silent. He had always been his leader's scout and sentry when day faded into darkness, and was one of the quicker stags in his old herd.
By the time the twins approached the lone doe, the melanistic stag was already there. Hiding amonst a scarce stand of shrubbery, Huyen remained on full alert. With the endless warring in the Valley, he was very cautious of newcomers to the herd, and made a point to look for a potential ambush. However, it didn't take long before the stag realized that this doe was indeed alone, and exhausted at that.
Finally stepping out from the brush, Huyen moved over towards Singed and nodded to the fawns, "Alert Wardell and Sasha that we have a visitor." He then turned back to the doe, lowering his head slightly, "Are you able to stand?"
Singed
I shivered, looking up at the two females who approached me. "Singed." I replied out of breath. I saw the buck and tensed, I had never liked the bucks...but I could trust him. Right? I nodded softly, drawing my legs from under me, standing up on weak legs like a fawn. My sides felt heavy, my muscles were soar. "Were am I?"
Tyree; Kazbek
The sisters smiled. "You are at the Oak Prairie. If you'd like to speak to Sasha or Wardell I can get them for you." Tyree said, her big brown eyes staring up at the doe.
Singed
"If that is the leaders, yes." I replied weakly.
