Cosmic
Little Earth and him had been at the Lake not letting anyone know they had left when they had been attacked by the cougar. Cosmic had been calling loud enough to be heard faintly at his home not knowing his mother was already looking for him what he did not know if he could also be heard at his friend's herd.
Little Earth, Salva, Maple, & Others
Not long after the call was made, Little Earth came barrelling into the lands, glancing back now and then to see if Cosmic was with him still. "Help! Help!" He called out, heading straight for a group of does and their fawns.
Salva, Maple, Cinnamon, and Cattail were in the group; three red deer and one axis. With them were five fawns, and two yearlings from the previous year. Maple, being the oldest hind in the group, stepped forward, "Little Earth, what is it? Predators?" She asked as the deer around here began to look around nervously, their eyes and noses flared wide.
Little Earth panted heavily, "We... were... at the... lake! A cougar... attacked!"
Cattail, the axis hind, gave a start at hearing the information. "Oh, no! We must hide!" She cried out, having lost one of her fawns already to a wolf. Without waiting, she turned and bolted, her two surviving fawns rushing after her. Instinctively, Cinnamon and Salva followed, with their fawns close behind. As they ran, he could see other nearby hinds run with them. It was like watching dominoes fall.
Maple wavered before Little Earth, her eyes blazing with crippling fear while little Zana, her fawn, nudged at her flank. "Momma, what is it?" She whispered, frightened even though she didn't know what a cougar was yet.
Little Earth let his head drop a bit, wincing as he though about the reprocusions that might follow. He only hoped that he hadn't started a stampede, and that no fawns got hurt from this. "Cosmic's mom is taking care of the cougar right now. But she might need help..." He said uncertainly, having caught his breath now.
Maple stamped a hoove in the ground, using all her mental strength not to turn and flee with the others. "Come close, young ones." She said at last, "I'm sure Nhosh will be here soon."
Little Earth scooted a bit closer to Maple, then turned to Cosmic, "Help should be here soon..." He was almost as terrified of explaining this to Nhosh as he was about getting chased by a cougar.
Cosmic
the young colt had followed his coat now drenched in sweat. his silver had began a dull grey he had to take back his last statement now he had run faster then he had ever though possible. Looking as the other huddled together he glanced back to were they ahd come.
My mom might need my help. My father is gone away for now leaving just us two in the terrain. I got to help her
this statement was merely a whisper as he stood there apart from the other his leggs shaking almost ready to collaspe under him.
Little Earth, Maple, & Others
Maple nodded faintly, "They will help; but you two should remain with me. Cougars are nothing for younglings to mess with. Wait here a moment." The hind hustled away from the two, with Zana scampering after on her long, awkward limbs.
Little Earth lifted his head and looked to Cosmic, "Your mom will be alright." He tried to assure his friend, even though he was very unsure of the situation.
After a few minutes, Maple returned with a group of stags following. "I've explained everything to them. They'll return with your mother soon." The hind announced.
Nhosh was with the group, and he eyed Little Earth with a disapointed look that made the yearling cringe regretfully. Without speaking, he followed the trail of the two youngsters and lead a group of fifteen stags after him.
Little Earth watched the group head out before lifting his head again, "That's all the stags from our herd!" He said in awe, then grinned. Already, he was forgetting the punishment that surely awaiting him when Nhosh arrived. "Say, you wanna meet my friends?"
Cosmic
the way the stags carried themselves as they moved gracefully through the brush to his mom made Cosmic stop his stood taller not realizing it crown lowered in respect to Nosh. His own father wasn't around any so he didn't know how he wasn't supposed to act it was kinda fun loving hearing Little Dear the noble looking prince vanished and he smiled prancing over to his friend.
Sure, pal
Little Earth, Luke, Terrell, Donovan, Radon, Ska, & Zha
Little Earth pranced with his front hooves a bit, "Follow me then!" He tossed his head, imagining that he had a full set of antlers to swing about. Then he sprung down a shallow hill, his long legs carrying him in wide leaps. He raced through a meadow before following a large brook that passed through a stand of mature cedar and maple trees. As the trees cleared out, the brook wound through a large meadow with steep, rolling hills that were dotted with old oaks here and there. Little Earth scrambled up the tallest hill and peered down. "LUKE! TERRELL! EVERYONE!" He called out, scanning the vast meadow for his friends.
Soon a group of six yearlings appeared, bounding enthusiastically up the hill. Upon reaching the top, they all stopped and stared at Cosmic in awe.
Little Earth grinned, "This is Cosmic, my new friend. And this is Luke, my half-brother." The yearling began, nodding to a white-tail that looked like him, but with slightly rougher, darker looking fur. "That's Terrell and Donovan," He continued, nodding to two white-lipped deer, "They're half-brothers as well. That's Radon," Now he motioned to a red deer, and then to the last two, which were fallows, "Ska and Zha; twins."
Little Earth took a big breath and let it out with exclamation. "So, what do you do for fun?" He questioned, looking to Cosmic. The rest of the yearlings pressed in, looking over the colt as if he were the strangest, most unique looking creature they had ever seen. Of course, they had seen horses before, but it was when they were very young, and they remembered little of that.
Cosmic
the young buck thought about what little earth said and paused his voids alittle clouded.
I guess the same as you. I don't have others to play with were I come from its just me and my mom
Little Earth, Luke, Terrell, Donovan, Radon, Ska, & Zha
Little Earth tilted his head to the side in thought, but it was Radon who spoke up first, "We could play Wolves. Or maybe Jump the Creek?"
The others nodded in approval, then Luke spoke, "The creek is really high... maybe we should play Wolves?"
Cosmic
the silver colt tilted his head in confusion
How you play wolves?
Little Earth, Luke, Terrell, Donovan, Radon, Ska, & Zha
Terrell pranced his hooves, "I'll explain!" He looked briefly to the other yearlings before turning to Cosmic, "First, we have to split into two groups. One of us will be wolves, and the other deer... er, or horses." There was a bit a friendly snickering behind him as he said this, "While the wolf team waits, the other group has to go hide somewhere. Then the wolf team had to find them and catch them."
Donovan stepped forward, nudging Terrell out of the way, "And if a wolf touches you, then you have to stop where you are. If all the deer are caught, then the wolf team wins. But, if the wolves can't find or catch the deer for a long time, then the deer win!"
Cosmic
the hunter of silver grinned in an equine way which at his age was goofy looking anyway.
Sounds great. How you pick teams?
Little Earth, Luke, Terrell, Donovan, Radon, Ska, & Zha
Little Earth spoke up again, "Since you're the guest, you can pick for your team. Luke can be the leader of the other team." The yearling looked to his companions, who quickly shuffled into a somewhat straight line, which he got into himself. Luke stepped forward and stood beisde Cosmic.
"You get to decide first; you wanna be a wolf or a deer? Then you get to pick three of them to be on your team." Luke explained to Cosmic. "I will get the other three on my team then."
Little Earth perked his ears up and pawed the ground with one hoof, anxiously looking to Cosmic, as if saying 'pick me, pick me!'. The others were antsy as well, very curious to see who Cosmic would pick, and what side he would choose.
Cosmic
Oh Comsmic knew whom he want first and foremost on his team his best fiends.
Okay I want Little Earth and well how about Ska and Terrell.
Cosmic didn't know that Ska and Zha's mother wasn't to fond of him. Now as for the side.
Lets start off playing the Wolves first. I think it'll be fun.
