Arcane, Segreto, Mystery and Ascosa

The four red deer, Two mothers, Two daughters, entered upon the Oak Priarie with the hope of finding a home. They had been offered one here by a buck named Solange, yet they didn't know if that offer was still open.
Arcane entered first, She was the mother of Mystery and the braver one of the two adults. Slowly she stepped, gracefully but ever-cautious. calling to the small fawns to follow she continued in, ears and eyes alert to spot danger. Segreto, Mother of Ascosa, brought up the rear and was also cautious and always casting looks back to see if they were being stalked.

Arcane came to a halt about 15 meters into the oak priarie and let out a small call to Solange. The two fawns positioned themselves, with the help of Segreto, between their mothers as Segreto and Arcane each kept watch for either danger or Solange or indeed any other deer.

Wycliff, Elderberry, Cinnamon, & Solange

Solange heard the call and came, as quick as he could, to the four deer. He carried a bad limp still, for his wound wasn't fully healed. And his two proud antlers were now gone, leaving him as bald as the hinds. He felt a bit awkward about his missing antlers, but knew that every deer must go through it during the winter. He took solace in the fact that they'd grow in bigger and stronger this coming spring.

As he approached the four, Solange lifted his head and smiled, "I was afraid the hunters had gotten to you! Are you alright?"

Also responding to the call were three hinds; two red deer and one axis deer. One of the red deer was quite odd looking, with over 90% of her body covered in white fur. Her legs were a bit short, and her muzzle was a little bit arched. She was piebald. The other two deer, which traveled at her sides, were both normal looking for their species, and didn't carry the rare mutation that Wycliff did.

The hinds stopped near Solange, as Wycliff stepped forward. "You must be the three that Solange was talking about, from the Prairie? You are welcome to join our herd if you wish. I'm Wycliff, the lead hind." She greeted, then smiled at the two yearlings. But there was a bit of sadness in her look, and she was compelled to ask something, "Have you see two fawns, by chance? Two white-tails?" Wycliff hadn't seen Thorn or Bramble since they left with Nhosh.

Arcane, Mystery, Segreto and Ascosa

The hinds were relived when they saw Solange on the horizon. They both smiled and the fawns squeezed out from between their mothers to get a good look at the others that had come.

Arcane stepped forward.
Yes, thank you. Are you?
She looked to his leg, it looked better than before but she wasn't sure if it was completely healed.

Segreto then spoke to Wycliff, a friendly smile upon her face.
Yes we are, I'm Segreto, This is my daughter, Ascosa, My friend, Arcane and her daughter, Mystery. Thank you for letting us stay.
She said, pointing to each with her muzzle.

At the talk of the two fawns Segreto nodded.
Yes, We saw two. They were with Solange when we met I think. Bramble and Thorn wasn't it?
She tried to remember the past event but it was a little cloudy in her mind as it was so long ago.

Yes we did!
Piped up Ascosa.

Wycliff, Elderberry, Cinnamon, & Solange

"It's nice to meet you. It's always good to have some more hinds in the herd. And young ones, of course." Wycliff then nodded to the two hinds beside her, "This is Elderberry," first to the axis deer, and then to the red deer, "and this is Cinnamon. The others are further in, taking shelter from the wind right now. And there are several yearlings that would love to meet two knew friends." Wycliff encouraged, looking now to Ascosa and Mystery. "Just head due east, and you should find them all near the lake."

Solange had nodded to Arcane, flurishing a grinning smile, "Ah, I'm good now. I'd just like to see those humans try that again. Next time they won't be so lucky."

Cinnamon dropped her ears a bit when she heard of the fawns. "We might want to send a search party out for them? They must have gotten separated from Solange and the others while they were returning back to the home herd. Thallis is still missing as well."

Elderberry nodded, looking to Wycliff for confirmation. "We might as well look for them. The stags have all lost their antlers, so they are just as defenseless as us."

Wycliff took a moment to think, then replied, "It's time that we did. I'll notify Nhosh. Cinnamon, why don't you round up some other hinds? Orchid and Velvire should come as well." She would have wanted Solange to come as well, for he was the best tracker in the herd. But of course, he could do much with his wounded leg right now. The lead turned to the new deer now, "If either of you two wish to join us, you're quite welcome. Or you can get to know the rest of the herd here."

Arcane, Segreto, Mystery and Ascosa

Arcane decided she would go and help look for the fawns.

Segreto, Ascosa and Mystery all gave a smile to Wycliff and the others before taking off eastwards to meet up with the rest of the herd.

Arcane said good bye to her friend and daughter before smiling to the three hinds.
If its not too much trouble I'd like to help.
She waited for the events to unfold.

Wycliff & Solange

Wycliff smiled now, "That would be great, Arcane. I think we might try the Tall Grass Prairie first, for that's where they were last seen. From there, we can head south" The lead turned to Solange, "Inform Cinnamon and the others where we're going, if you could. If any of the stags wish to come, they're quite welcome. But no yearlings." She nodded to Arcane before heading to the Tall Grass Prairie.

Solange bid them a farewell, "Good luck, and keep safe." He was only sorry that he couldn't go as well, but he knew he'd only hinder them. Not wasting his time in sulking about it, the stag limped away to locate Cinnamon.
