*Humans* Nhosh & Herd
To say the least, the humans who owned the ravaged deer farm was less than pleased to find their place devoid of deer, fox, dogs, and one worker; the husband. A large band of people and dogs got together, along with various dogs, to find and bring back what deer they could. It wasn't too hard to figure where the deer went, for the mass of hoof prints made a clear trail where ever they headed.
Now there were 10 humans along with 15 dogs heading into the territory. 4 of the humans were on horseback, and all of them had weapons of sort; five had rifles, three had shotguns, and two had bows. Four of the dogs were bloodhounds, ready to lead the others to the deer. Five were deerhounds, with sharp vision and swift, long legs. The rest were wolfhounds.
An axis deer had spotted the group as he stood on a high hill laced with thick shrubs. Luckily, Thallir was downwind of the group. Turning sharply, the stag galloped down the opposite side of the hill and raced for his Lead.
Nhosh was grazing idly in a lowland area when Lanthani came rushing for him. Raising his head, he stared hard at the Scout, "What is it, Lanthani?"
The axis came to a stop in front of his lead, panting to catch his breath from the long run, "Humans... dogs... entered... from the... east!"
Nhosh's eyes grew wide, then narrowed coldly, "Good job, Lanthani, How many?"
The axis shook his head, "Ten humans, at least a dozen dogs.... maybe more."
Nhosh stamped lightly at the ground, "Send two parties of four to find those predators... the ones that helped us. We need them here as quick as possible."
Lanthani nodded and took off again to round up the others.
Nhosh scented the wind, but couldn't detect the intruders yet. However, he knew that it'd be only a matter of time. A group of ten humans didn't just come out for a pleasure hunt; they meant buisness. The stag started into a swift run, tearing through the thick underbrush until he came across a large group of hinds. "Wycliff!" He barked out, spotting the piebald hind grazing with her new friends. "There is a bit of trouble. Alert the Royals and prepare the yearlings. I will send what stags I can to defend you. Stay out of the clearings; hide in the thick vegetation."
Wycliff stared back at him with wide eyes, but nodded after a moment, "Stay safe." She whispered, a touch of great worry in her voice. Then she looked to the other hinds and went to work getting them and the yearlings into hiding.
Nhosh was off again, searching for his closest friends. But search as he might, they were no where to be found. Solange was off with Guadalupe; much to the pricket's unknowing. Huyen and Meteor had already been gathered by Lanthani to scout for the predators. Frustrated, Nhosh kept up his search until he came across Sieberry, a younger red deer. "Sie!" Nhosh cried out. Mo< The stag lifted his head, in the middle of tearing some dried leaves from a plant. "Er, is there trouble?" He questioned, trying to look as alert and dignified as he could in front of his lead.
Nhosh, "Quite a bit, I'm afraid. You must come with me, to try and lead danger away from our hinds and fawns." So saying, the killer stag reared up and pivoted around, bucking his sword-like antlers at the air once before setting off towards the eastern edge of his terra. Sieberry didn't hesitate. Charging forward, the younger stag set off with his lead...
Venus, Arctic, Rebel, Sugar, Sarafina
Arctic entered the lands at a run. She and Venus had been found at Orca bay and had come as soon as they could. Arctic was first as Venus was busy getting others to come and help. She saw Nhosh and another stag heading East and she growled to them, before the snow-leopardess charged after them.
Nhosh! Venus will be arriving soon with others. We dont know where Kaze is though. What's the problem?
Venus arrived soon after, along with a wolf, a hybird and a Peregrin Falcon. She saw Arctic and the two deer and called to them before setting off after them.
Sugar, the hybird, was 20% Golden Retreiver, 80%Red wolf and was a friend of Venus. She had got to know Rebel when she first arrived. She followed Venus.
Rebel, the wolf, didn't know either of the felines, but wanted to help if Sugar was. She too followed Venus.
Lastly, Sarafina. She was a Peregrin Falcon, and had been with Sugar ever since she was a pup. She was sitting on Sugars shoulder when the hybird took off and she took to the skies, flying towards the two deer and the leopardess.
Aura, Deception, Mercury and Fire N Ice
This was an odd group that Venus had found.
Three were wolves,
Aura - a female wolf
Deception - a female wolf
Mercury - A male wolf
And a mare - Fire N Ice
The four saw the group and headed for them. This fight would be interesting.
*Humans* Nhosh & Herd
Nhosh halted and wheeled around, facing the approaching group with lowered antlers. He still had a very hard time putting trust in the predators, and preferred to have his antlers be between him and them. The sight of so many greatly unnerved the lead as well, but he didn't let his fear show. He knew it would be folly to try and intimidate any of them, and so he went on to explain. "One of my scouts has spotted at least 10 humans and a dozen canines entering the eastern part of my land. Half of the herd has moved out into hiding, but with so many hinds and yearlings, they could be easily tracked. We need to kill all the aggressors." Nhosh exclaimed, stamping a deadly hoof into the ground for emphasis.
Seiberry stood timidly beside his lead, doing his best to look brave in face of all the predators. Since leaving the Deer Farm, he had been trained swiftly in the ways of the wild.
In the distance, a frenzy of dog barks could be heard. The thunder of horse hooves was faint but detectable to sensative paws, and their scents began to drift on the wind. Nhosh looked critically to Arctic and Venus, "Some of us will surely be killed if we take them head on. The humans, at least, must be split up somehow. We need to make several diversions."
Venus, Arctic and the gang
The group of 11 stood listening and nodded in agreement.
Arctic spoke up.
Should some go for the dogs and some for the humans?
They had all begun to notice and hear the sounds of dogs and hooves.
Sugar spoke to Sarafina.
Sarafina, fly ahead and see if you can count how many of them there are.
Nodding the Falcon took to the air, heading towards the sounds. She landed in a tree, not too far away from the advancing group. Hmmm...Now to see how many there were and what they were up against...
Fire N Ice was quick to volenteer.
If me and some of your stags went one way, and you and the rest went the other, they would split, some following one half and some the other. Then the predators could be waiting in hiding somewhere and we could bring the humans to the place that they were hiding. Then we could turn and attack them, like and ambush, surround them whislt they think their attacking. Then, if the dogs find the hinds, some predators and stags will be waiting there, ready to protect the rest of the herd. It's just an idea...You dont have to do it...but i'd just thought i'd say..
*Humans* Nhosh & Herd
When Sarafina came upon the group, which was still packed tightly together, she could count all that there were. Four humans on horseback with riffles, 6 more traveling on foot with three shotguns, two bows, and another with a riffle. Of the fifteen dogs, four were bloodhounds, and so not the best fighters in the world, but excellent at pinpointing locations, 5 deer hounds, and 6 wolf hounds.
Nhosh listened to the speech, nodding vaguely to Arctic then hearing what the mare had to say. He was far more inclined to agree with the horse, and so he nodded, "Good idea. Sieberry, round up as many extra stags as you can and bring them here quick."
The stag headed away, knowing more or less where the others were hiding.
"I'll head to the right of the group and slipt that way. You can lead the others to the left of the group. Try to keep them out of our lowlands, because many of our hinds and fawns are hiding down there." Nhosh warned.
It wasn't long before Sieberry returned with several stags following. Rift, Thallir, Sumac, Scraff, Nitro, and Nettle. Nhosh looked over the small group. The rest were away, or hiding with the hinds and yearlings. "Ok... Rift, Thallir, Scraff, and Furlock go with her." He stated, nodding to Fire N Ice. "The rest, come with me. And for the you all," The stag looked to the predators, "You know what to do." Nhosh hesitated a moment, but held back a warning for them not to harm his herd. Nodding to the mare, Nhosh headed towards where the humans and hounds were. Sieberry, Sumac, and Nitro quickly followed their lead.
Nhosh and the three stags positioned themselves to the right of the hunting party, doing their best to stay downwind. They waited tensely for Fire N Ice to get into position with her group before he tried to spilt the hunters up.
Venus, Arctic and the gang
The predators nodded and moved away, breaking into two smaller groups. Some following Nhosh, Other following Fire N Ice. They positioned themselves downwind, hiding in various forests or in long grass. They waited for the signal that the plan was in motion.
Fire N Ice nodded at Nhosh before moving to the left of the advancing party. Nodding to the stags that were following her to get ready to run. She made sure she was well clear of the lowlands. Mercury and his adopted sons were stationed there, should some go that way. The mare breathed in deeply, her heart hammering, but ready. She nodded to Nhosh. When he signalled she would run towards the hunters, before charhing back to where the predators were waiting. She just prayed they were ready and wouldn't hurt her.
Sarafina finished her count. The falcon took to the skies once more landing neatly by Sugar. It's gonna be one big fight. There are loads of them, every man with a weapon...I don't know if we can beat them...
*Humans* Nhosh & Herd
Nhosh watched as the other party moved away to the left. Once he was sure they were positioned, the stag reared up and scythed his sword-like antlers through the air, so that they showed clearly above the foliage. This was followed up by a great bellow, signalling to Fire N Ice that they were ready. A moment later the stag plunged towards the humans, swinging his head towards them in a defiant gesture before turning and running as quickly as his legs could carry him back into the brush. His stags followed along, at first keeping out of sight of the humans, as to not arouse their suspiscion of anything. The deer were heading towards one of the predator groups, where upon they'd turn and face their attackers.
The dogs bayed eagerly at the sight and sound of Nhosh. In one fell swoop, all fifteen canines turned and hurtled his way...
Rift looked to Fire N Ice, nodding to her and his comrades. But he waited for her lead the charge to try and draw at least half of hunting party in their direction.
The humans shouted just as eagerly, seeing the strange set of antlers on the stag's head. Like the dogs, the ten humans set off in the lead's direction...
Venus, Arctic and gang
Fire N Ice reared as she saw Nhosh do so. She charged out at the humans, neighing loudly, before pivoting round and propelling herself in the other direction towards the hiding predators.
The predators hid, not making a sound as they heard the cries of the deer and horse. Silently, they prepared to launch their attack.
Now it was only a matter of whether they had caught the humans attention...
*Humans* Nhosh & Herd
For a moment, there was brief indecision in the group. Then two humans on horse back and three from the ground turned back for Fire N Ice. Among them were two riffles, two shotguns, and a bow. Splitting with their masters, one bloodhound, three deerhounds, and three wolfhounds also split back to chase Fire N Ice.
The hounds were first to catch up, pulling past their masters and the horses that had more trouble navigating the thick brush. The began to close in on Fire N Ice and the sts, snapping eagerly at their legs and sides... Rift and the others kicked out, but couldn't stop just yet. They continued running until they reached their band of predators, where they then turned around to face the hunters. Seven dogs were first to attack, rushing for the mare and stags; they didn't know of the others laying in wait...
Nhosh and his party did similarly, rushing on until they reached the second group of predators. Then they swung around, ready to face the eight dogs that had followed them. The stags lowered their heads, slashing at the ground with their hooves as the dogs slowed, thinking of the best way to take on these deer...
Although the dogs had outpaced the humans, it wouldn't be but a few minutes before the humans arrived on the scene. Then the real trouble would begin, for they had a multitude of weapons...
Nhosh, Herd, & *Hunters*
Nhosh suddenly threw up his head and gave throat to a loud bellow; a call to his stags. Wheeling around on his haunches, the lead shot away from the dogs, slipping around the waiting predators as he did so. His stags follwed suits, turning swiftly to follow their lead as the eager dogs took up the pursuit again and headed after the deer.
Rift, Thallir, and the others heard Nhosh's cry. Like the other group, the four stags whipped around and took off, feeling the hot breath of the dogs as the canines caught up with them.
The humans followed eagerly after their dogs' bays, heading out of the territory, past the predators.
Taijya, Magick, Moon Phase
Black sleek fae had taken on a quick pace. Her pistons stretched and pulled back towards her body in a trained action, ambers focused straight ahead. The deer had spoken of humans and theirs pets, and enough to raise one's wanted level far beyond belief. The path she folowed however was behind the humans, not attacking in the front. That was far to simple, and too easily detected. With a sudden need to stop felt, her bodice ceased motion as her dial turned to face the two faes now nearing her.
Moon Phase had left not for the need to gain a record. Or even for revenge against the human race. Her reason was pety, and at the moment she cursed herself fiercly for it. Her daughter and mate were injured and her stressed state had lost sight of that. She was feeding for her needs before her familys, and for that she felt terrible. Even when Taijya froze, the dove nearly lost ehr footing at finally coming back to reality at the last second.
"Why have you stopped!" Her tones were sharp, and very unlike her usual self. It was unlike her to speak up to any of a higher standing, and though aijya owned no territory, she was top dog for any who respected the true killers.
And even after realizing her spat out words, her lips still curled back to allow a low snarl to pass as well. She was cautious of these actions and yet she continued with them.
Magicks own onyx bodice followed after the two, having kept her pace slightly slower. She knew nothing of Moon Phases issues, so upon hearing her tones, the vixen almost tripped in surpise as she too stopped. Jaws opened to speak out against her, however she was in a slight state of shock.
Taijya's dial turned to allow er golden spheres to look directly at the fae, seeming to look into her soul. Even as she spat out her words and snarls, the huntress did not even flnich. She mad no come back and without even a second glace she turned back around to face the direction they had been traveling.
"Each human carries a weapon, and once the first attack is made, keep hidden as much as possible. Surprise and stealth will be our allies. Hopefully the dogs will be more focused on the game then us for a good bit of the time.
With a slight nod to herself, her bodice shot once more into action. Her first target was one of the further behind humans. Her motions were kept unaudible due to his own foot steps as well as the racket the dogs were making ahead of them. With great stealth the huntress leapt at the human, jaws attempting to latch onto the back of his neck and disable him from calling out any warning to his fellow two leggers
The vixen held her ground, however realizing her actions had no effects, she silenced her snarls as soon as Taijya took speed. She too ran forward, however she moved furhter to the left, running past Taijya's prey and leapt for yet another man on foot. Her attack was made for the side of the neck, since she was leaping out from the side.
Magicks dial dipped in understanding, following right after Taijya. Just as Phase had done, she moved off to the left instead, finding a horseless human and leaping to hopefully allow jaws to snap the neck.
Venus, Arctic and others
The group of predators had been waiting and as soon as the dogs had come they launched their attack.
Venus growled deeply and charged after one of the humans on horseback whilst Mercury and his two sons went for the horse.
Aura and decepion went for another man on a horse, Aura went for the human, Deception for the horse.
In the other group Arctic pounced out from the bushes and aimd to take down the man from his horse.
Rebel went for two of the dogs, jaws aiming to clamp shut around one and claws scratching across the other.
Sarafina went for the horse that Arctic's human was on, aiming to gouge out its eyes or cut its face.
Sugar went for a human whilst Fire N Ice turned back and reared, attempting to knock the human off his horse.
The game was on.
Deer & *Hunters*
Taijya had spotted one of the riffle bearers, who was running fast to catch up with the dogs and horseriders. Hearing all the comotion in head of him, he didn't stop to think that anyting was behind him. Hardly having time to comprehend a sudden force at his neck, the man didn't have time to yell before his neck was broken by the wolf's jaws.
Moon Phase and Magick didn't hit their targets however, because two of the pursuing dogs had caught their scent and now turned back. Both were wolfhounds. They attacked similarly, each one going for a throat hold.
The first horserider spotted Venus and swung his riffle around, aiming a shot at her.... His horse shied up then, spotting the three wolves coming for him. Neighing loudly, the stallion began to kick out at the predators...
The other horseman was caught off gaurd and headed for his companion. But the mare he was riding noticed the two attackers, and reared up sharply. She threw her hooves out, trying to strike at Aura and Deception...
Now there were six dogs unattended. The rest of the humans and the other dogs had spilt up, heading three different ways as the followed Nhosh and the other fleeing stags. But these six dogs had remained, intent on finding the deer that were still hidden here.
"Found them! This way, come on!" Cried the largest of the two deerhounds. Picking up speed, the lanky dog bursted through the thick brush, coming upon a group of hinds and fawns. Before the hound to spring to close his jaws on the nearest hind, a black-coated deer thundered forward, catching the halpess canine on his branching tines. Huyen tossed the yelping dog to the ground, his antlers dripping with warm blood. But no sooner had the dog hit the earth, then three more came forward. A wolfhound, deerhound, and bloodhound. They sprung at the stag, attacking at different places, ripping and slashing where they could. Huyen barked out in pain, but fought back with hoof and antler.
The wounded hound got to his paws, shivering and whimpering. But a quick anger washed over him, and he turned his loathing teeth upon Valence, a yearling red deer stag. The youngster cried out as the deadly teeth clutched about his muzzle and dug in deep. Juniper, the yearling's mother, came to his aid, kicking at the dog with her antlers and trying to drive him away. The other two bloodhounds soon joined the fray, singling out Tabansi, a very old white-tail doe. One got her long the flank, while the other grabbed a hold on muzzle. In short time, panic broke out, and the remaining deer bolted...
Magick, Moon Phase
The raven goddess known as Magick Leapt back as the fangs attempted their hold. She was forced to abandom her attack on the pathetic human, and now a rush of heat found her cheeks. "You dare try and stop me?!" It was spoken in a roaring tone, something spoken in the thrill of the moment. Her ego was high now, even though she had been injured allong with Taijya a few moons ago. However her wounds had healed nicely, a bit of deformed skin on her back the only real evidence. And even that was concealed by the blackness of her pelt.
With a low growl she priestess paced around the wolfhound, eyes locked onto it's body. Unlike the collies, this one was larger, and though she did not know it, the animal had eben bred to kill her species. However... even if she had been aware of this fact, she still would not back down.
For now however she was on the defensive, waiting an attack to prove the skills the canines possesed, as well as the weaknesses.
The silver duchess however had again been lost in through even in the heat of battle, and without truely realizing it, she had been caught. The dogs jaws had clamped around her throat, not in the correct place to pierce the life line, but with enough force her neck could be broken.
Once more she was overwhelmed with a feeling of guilt, an overflow of emotions far from suited on the battle field. She knew deep down she should not be here now, not in her current state, and not in the state of her remaining family.
In the midst of her realization, her jaws snapped for anythigns he was capable of grabbing on the beast. Be it face or even just fur near the neck, she would fight and remove herself from here.
Yin, Yang
The meeting Taijya had arranged had brought the two rather youthful lupes out from their seclusion. Instead they had decided to place their energies in helping the wolves. So with the thougth of helping to guide her, the snowy femme with orbs of gold followed the scents, as well as the racket which could not be missed. Her first sites fell on taijya's kill, the least eventful of the three views. Next it came to Magick's ordeal, and then to Moon Phase. It took no time at all before she found herself rushing forward, bodice leaping right for the Wolf hounds own neck. Her jaws snapped franticly, holding on tightly to anything she had managed to grab hold of.
Yang had folloed as well, not so into the heroics idea, but still willing to help the cause his sister found interesting enough to assist. At her motion to help, he followed suit, aiming his atatck for the dogs limb. If he had hold he latched on tightly, hoping to break the bone and cause as much pain as possible.
Taijya, Fajebin, Whisper
The wolf of Rubicon dropped her now dead prey where he had fallen, slamon tongue licking over her lips in satisfaction. However she was not quite satisfied. A turn of her dial brought her attention to the trouble her allies where facing, but also the help they were recieving. So without a second thought to them, the huntress leapt ahead, following after a ground of humans. She would hold her place and bring the top to a whole new and unbelieveable level. She would not be beaten.
Fajebin and his sister had been late following the scents, having taken some time elsewhere. However upon arriving, Whisper pulled ahead, obviously following Taijya. So without help given to the others still fighting off the dogs, they followed to the canyon.
Deer & *Hunters*
Magick's dog snarled savagely at first, having missed his mark. But then a sly, sinister looked enveloped his features and he glared at her, beginning a slow circle around the wolf. "Ah, maybe I will get a workout today after all." The large dog had his head lowered in a way to protect his vital throat. Propelling himself on powerful limbs, the wolfhound sprung suddenly for Magick. But rather than go for her throat, his head was aimed lowered. And at the last moment, he swiveled his body slightly to the side and downward, trying to bring his shoulder slamming into the wolf's front limbs and cause her to fall. And with this movement, his jaws snapped for the flesh of her limbs, but only to gash them if he could; not to grip them.
The other wolfhound got caught up in a moment of success. He clamped his jaws as tight as he could and thrashed his head wildly, trying to damage as much as he could on Moon's neck. From the corner of his eye, he spotted a shape hurtling his way. Knowing his neck was vulnerable, the hound released his prey and sprung aside, getting a bit of fur ripped out from his neck. But he could not avoid all the attacks, and before he knew it, a searing pain hit his hind limb. Unable to wrench it away in time, the bones were broken between the wolf's jaws. Yelping in agony, the hound whipped around and tried to land a hit on the attacker's face or neck.
Meanwhile, the other six dogs were still having at it with the deer. Huyen's side and flank had been ripped open by the dogs, but already the bloodhound lay dying in the grass. Blood oozed from a fresh wound on his head; one which had broken through his skull. The other two were still baying the deer and taking bites at him when they could. Unlike the bloodhound, these two were quicker and more knowledged against the deer.
The other hound narrowly missed a strike by Maple (not Juniper ><), and swung around with Valence. The yearling was dragged to the ground, choking and struggling to get air in. Maple tried to drive off the deer hound, but it was hard to attack him without hitting her own fawn.
Tabansi tried to run as well, and kick at the dogs when she could. But she was simply too old to put up a worthy fight against them. The ripped mercilously at her flesh, spilling the warm, tangy blood on the fresh snow...
Magick, Moon Phase, Yin, Yang
Magicks orbs stayed locked on the dogs features, low snarls erupting from her vocals. "Your only work out will involve your jaws as you prey for mercy within mine" Her tones were spken low in threat, speaking with a highly cocky tone. As he took on motion the huntress stepped back some, bodice slightly lowered and neck tucked to protect the vital line. But the dogs attack can as a slight surprise as a slace was felt on her hind limb and a trickle of crimson liquid began.
The lupe leap away from the attacking jaws, now measuring up the dog. This time however she took the initiative to attack, pistons carrying her towarsd the brute. Her aim seemed to be for the dogs side, however her jaws made a snap for the shoulder blade. She was at a disadvantage here. The dog was big enough to cause damage, and she was alone on this one at least until Yin and Yang finished assisting moon.
Yin turned completly around once her attack missed, catching sight of Yangs distraction. She dashed right for the dog, jaws snapping shut, hoping to grab at the throat that the dog had stopped protecting in order to save get Yangs off. If her attack did hit it's make, her jaws tightened, attemptign to restrict the air flow and cause death by suffication.
Yang's jaws held fast refusing to reflease his grib.Normally this would be a stupid move, but from the corner of his eye he could see his sisters attack. So in order to make sure she was unnoticed, the brute shook his dial as roughly as he could, snarls emmited from his jaws to cover any sounds of his oncoming simbling. He mug was scratched by the dogs fangs, however with his constant movements not stuck. A few dops of crimson ran down his raven snout, falling to the ground in a small red puddle.
Moon Phase fell to the earth as the dog released her, not moving for a moment. Her jaws were held open, many gasps of air taken before her vision was finally clear again. A puddle og blood had formed beneight her neck, proving the wounds she had sustained. Her silvery pelt was also stained, and at the moment she had no thoughts of revenge. Instead she picked herself up and very slowly at first headed back to her pack. But after a few steps she took on a strong lope, hoping to appoligize to her family for leaving, and for being so foolish in leaving in a great time of distress.
Deer & *Hunters*
The dog did not let his attention wane at his apparent success with the first attack. Of all the dogs hunting today, he was the most skill, and true to his wolf-fighting blood. From the corner of his eye, he saw her move for an attack. He tried to spin away, but her fangs hit his shoulder. Not wasting a moment in trying to pull away, the wolfhound used his immense size to the best of his advantage. Mentally blocking the pain in his shoulder as best as he could, the dog reared up on his hindlegs, trying in one swift move to pull her fangs from his shoulder, and to try and bring his front paws down on her back to pin her to the ground. His raving jaws snapped brutally for her face and neck.
The other hound kept slashing madly at Yang, wanting to get himself free as quick as possible, for the pain was unbearable. This intense pain, as well as Yang's insecent snarls, kept the frantic hound's attention off of Yin. She was able to get an accurate grip on the throat, her fangs piercing deep into flesh and tearing through his vital bloodways. The crimson began to spill quickly to the ground, melting the crumbled snow beneath them. But the hound still had a bit of fight left in him, though his time was quickly drawing to an end. He fought with waning strength, lashing his jaws in a frenzy from Yin to Yang, going for what ever flesh might be within his reach.
Huyen kept up his fight until his ebony hide was tainted with glistening crimson. His breath and energy were beginning to run out, and he could hardly match the two dogs now. If it were not for Nhosh's return, the buck would have been dead. The lead had finished with business at the Canyon, and was racing back for his herd. Like a bullet, he charged headlong towards one of the attacking dogs. The hound didn't see the peril until it was too late. With a gasping cry, the creature was pierced straight through the chest by one of the long, tine-less antler beams. Nhosh shook and thrashed his head until the dog was chucked to the ground.
Tabansi was felled, lying bleeding in the snow as the two dogs ripped at her. Nettle and Seiberry had arrived with Nhosh, and they quickly went to work on the two agressors. In little time, the two dogs lay kicking in the snow, their life quickly ebbing away as blood spilled from their punctured bodies.
Meteor, Sumac, and Nitro also arrived, having taken care of business, with the help of Kaze, at Pikes Lake. Meteor and Sumac teamed up, taking on the dog that was attacking Valence. The dog tried to spring away, but was stabbed on either side as the two bucks rammed him. The dog struggled and thrashed only a moment before he was dead, and tossed limply to the ground.
Nitro, the young white-tail, came padding towards the chaos, ready to help Nhosh and Huyen. But Nhosh had already delivered a fatal blow to the hound, with a keen swing of his antlers across the dog's side and neck. Huyen and Nhosh stared at Nitro as he approaced, for the young buck had an arrow sticking straight through his neck! Luckily for Nitro, the shaft had narrowly missed all his vital structures, and had passed through muscle instead.
Yin, Yang, Magick
Yang's grib held, lids held tightly shut , protecting the soft spheres within from any direct contact from the fangs. However he was far from protected. The dogs thrashes had left multiple gashes on his face, and more were forming by the second. The crimson liquid continued to form were fangs met flesh, proving the attack affecting in injuring the body, but not the mind. He knew his sister had the reight grip, it was just a matter of seconds before the animal fell limp.
Yin's jaws held tight, dial shaking back and forth in an attempt to rip the life line and end the pain the dog was iflicting on her brother. An occasional pain caused by the dogs flailing and snaps did nothing to loosen the grip she held on his throat, and it only intensified her need to kill the canine.
Magicks situation took a turn for the worse. The dogs large size and her unwillingness to release her grip allowed the wolf hound to pin her to the ground, forcing her grip to release. In her pinned state, her skills were mostly useless. Low snarls errupted from her vocals as her limped tried ineffectivly to remove her from the dogs weight.
Deer & *Hunters*
The dog continued to fight, but Yin's violent thrashings hastened the end of the brute's life. It was not long before his snaps grew desperately weak, and then ceased all together. The dog tried once to lift his bloodied jaws to snap at his attackers, but it was useless. The dog's head finally dropped down, and his entire body went lax in death's grip.
The other wolfhound growled deeply, pressing his mass down on her to ensure she stayed pinned. Working swiftly, for he knew other wolves were attacking nearby, the hound drove his fangs for her throat, trying to inflict the worst injuries he could, and take her life if at all possible.
In the background, the sounds of dog and deer fighting had ceased. The odor of blood hung heavy on the air.
Magick, Yin, Yang
Magicks movements were for the most part useless, however her constant head shaking refused to allow a good grib around ehr throat. she could smell increased blood, and although she could not see Yin and Yangs kill, she knew they had finished and would assist. So for now she thrashed her head about, the dogs fangs ripping out tuffs of fur and inflicting minimal skin damage on the back of her neck. At the moment she bothered not to growl for it was obvious to anyone with a brain that she was angry
As soon as the dog fell limp she lept back, wasting no time to stand over her victory. Her eyes had caught the bad situation Magick had gotten herself into, and it took no thought to charge over there. Pistons carried her, and when she was near enough her jaws snapped at the dogs throat, hopeing to either kill the dog before he killed magick, or to get his grib on the fellow fae to release.
However Yang stayed back, eyes fluttering open as the dogs attacks ceased. His limbs took him a few steps back, dial shakking and drops of blood flinging from the multiple wounds on his muzzle. Luckly his pelt was black, mostly hiding the wounds, unlike his sisters which would show them easily if she were to get injured. After a bit of time, he turned, his own stilts pushing him towards the wolfhound. However his made his attack for one of the hind limbs, jaws snapping at the area in hopes of either braking the bone, for pulling the animal off balance in surprise.
Deer & *Hunters*
The dog continued to do his best to rip at Magick's neck, but he was not oblivious to his surroundings. The hound spotted Yin as she closed in for her attack, and with a hasty snarl, he sprang to the side, tucking his head down just in time to leave the wolf with nothing but air to close her jaws around. However, he hadn't quite notice Yang quick enough. The brother got his hold on the hound's leg, closing hard enough to fracture one of the bones. Stiffling a yelp, and knowing the tides had suddenly turned dangerously against him, the wolfhound tried to spring forward and wrench his leg free from Yang before it was too late.
Nhosh stepped out from the vegetation, ready to take a survey of the damage done. He knew that Tabansi was probably going to die, and that Valence was wounded pretty bad. He still didn't know of Leithel's death, nor the condition of the other hinds that had fled or that his best scout was badly wounded. Yet the lead had to focus on the danger at hand, and that was this last remaining wolfhound. The stag stayed back, letting the wolves finish off the canine.
Yang, Yin, Magick
His jaws held tightly on the dogs leg, bodice stiff and unbudging. Even as the wolfhound tried to free his now broken limb, Yang just pulled back, inflicting more damage on the area.
Once Yin landed from her failed attempt, she made a swift turn before madely rushing to leap at dog. However her attack was not direct. Instead of ripping at the inners of the dog, she leapt over him, her bodice making a rather sharp turn to allow her jaws to snap where she had seen the throat.
Magick's bodice lifted as soon as the weight was removed. Her form shook before a low snarl fell from her mug. Without a second thought she propelled herself towards the dog, neck tucked as jaws snapped wildly at his facial features. She hoped to grab his much in her own, and if she diod so, she would shake her dial wildly in in an attempt to break the jaw bone.
Deer & *Hunters*
There was only so much he could do with his leg being imprisoned as it was. All the straining was telling on his injured hind limb, wounding it worse and worse. Before he decided to wheel around and tag Yang, Yin made to readjust her attack. Instantly, the hound coiled himself down and braced for the attack, but the fae changed her attack and sailed right over him. The hound moved his head upwards to try and snag her underside in the brief moment she was airborn, but Magick had attacked unexpectedly, grasping the startled dog's muzzle between her own jaws. Here was the disadvantage of having long, lean jaws like he did; they were more easily broken. And so it was, with Magick's thrashing, the left lower jaw bone was snapped in two. Not only that, but in this short lapse of time, Yin was able to take the dog by the throat. Being totally open to her attack and unable to do anything to stop her, her fangs penetrated deep and true. Like the previously fallen dog, this hound's blood began to spill rapidly to the ground, streaming from Yin's closed jaws. The dying dog offered a valiant struggle, throwing his body around and kicking about as best as he could, but it was all futile. In a few short moments, he too was dead.
Nhosh watched the scene play out with a grim look of amusement. Still he kept wary, for he had to make sure that these wolves would not turn on him or his herd now, while they were so vulnerable. And even though Tabansi was dying in the thicket behind him, he would not rellent her broken body to the predators. At least, not at the moment.
Magick, Yin, Yang
Magick released her grip on the broken jaw bone once the body went limp, leaving the large dog to lay lifeless. Now there mremained only her and the deer, which althoguh one was within sight, she could smell another, dieing near. The fae turned her bodice to begin to remove herself from the terra, however once her ped lifted, she placed it back where it had been, dial turning now. Her eyes met directly with the deer, her jaws parting. "Don't fear to call upon our assistance once more..." And with that the fae gained some momentum and soon disapeared from the terra.
Yins jaws released her kill, stepping back to finally survay. She had done it, killed 2 dogs with her own fangs. She of course had assistance, but she had done something great. A smile fell on her features as she over looked the dead dog, the blood still stained on her white chin. Her eyes then looked to her brother, a sence of pride now installed. Without a word she paded past him, rubbing against his side in a kind of sibluing teasing way, before leaving as well.
Yang's jaws clamped together one last time, before dropping the dogs leg. He could sence his sisters pride, and in fact was a very proud creature himself, for himself and his sister. However her taunting ways left only a shake of his dial before he too followed, heading wherever they should go.
