Lunar and Soledad
Lunar padded into the already well made den, sudden pain shooting through her. She plopped down deep within its depths.
Soledad began to enter as well but was stopped by a vicious snarl from Lunar. He would not be allowed into the den untill the pups were born. So he spent his time pacing anxiously outside.
Lunar panted heavily as more pain shot through her...
Later...
Lunar liad quietly as she lovingly licked three healthy puppies. One male and two females. The first male was all black, except for a white diamond on his chest. The first female is tan with a gray tickling on her back. She is the smallest in the litter. The second female is completely black, like her mother. Lunar whimpered to Soledad, giving him permission to enter.
The anxious father quickly crawled through the entrance and into the den, though he stayed in the entrance tunnel since the den wasn't big enough for him to fit all the way in. He wagged his tail with much excitement when he saw that he had three pups. "Have you named them?" He breathed, his voice rapt with awe.
"Yes, I have. The male is Naiya, the tan female is Dogo, and the black female is Lihas." She licked her mates muzzle as tenderly as she had her pups. Soledad licked her back, and began to crawl backwards out of the den.
When he was outside, he lept into the air in a fit of joy. He tilted his head to the sky and howled, telling the pack that three new puppies had been born.
Dove/Glider
Dove slowly walked towards the den. She bore only a weak smile. This pack rarely got any peace with the Shadow Haunters around. Still, Dove remained strong. She had faith. Her tail began wagging when she saw the new parents. She stopped where she was and waited to be invited.
Glider followed his daughter, head and tail high. He stood next to her and kept quiet.
Vestige
The alpha had been conversing with Liseli when they had heard the howl. Tracking it to the main den, Vestige trotted along, smiling warmly. He hadn't felt this happy in a long time.
He came alongside Dove and Glider, offering them each a little yip of greeting. He looked back for Liseli, then barked out towards the den for the new parents. "Congratulations."
Soledad
Soledad had emerged at the sound of wolves arriving, his tail wagging furiously. He trotted up to the canines. "Thanks." He said, a foolish grin on his face. He was imensly happy at being a father, even if he hadn't had much time with actually being one. "One male and two females."
Liseli
She trotted in behind the alpha, keeping a respectful distance, but giving a soft smile to Lunar as she let her soft voice come. Yes, my many blessings on both of you and your new little ones.
Her eyes roved over the pups, and especially caught on the little black female. Without warning, tears gathered in her eyes, though she turned away to disguise them, so as not to upset the parents. That could have been...
And, as she turned... she was back. A black wolf, shimmering with the sunlight, a white bolt of lightning carving its way through the dark fur on her chest. Liseli's eyes grew wide, half disbelief, half longing, and her voice was a bare murmur. Vestige might hear it if he payed close attention... but it was so low the others would not hear. Angels and ministers of grace defend us...
The image plodded into the den with steps that made no noise, sitting down near Lunar and giving her sweetest smile to the mother and her pups before turning her face up to meet Liseli's eyes. That was the white fae's cue to gather herself, and she spoke again, this time just loud enough to carry to Lunar and Soledad. My sister is looking down from the stars... and she sees. She was a great lover of pups, will guide yours through life if they will remember to look to the stars for help.
"Sauda" smiled, and nodded, apparently satisfied that her sister had communicated her wishes. Then, her form shimmered, and she vanished.
Vestige
Smiling the alpha nodded his head, "Have you any names for them?"
He began to look at the gathered members, trying to work out who was not around when he heard a faint "Angels and ministers of grace defend us...". He slowly turned in the direction, to find Liseli wide eyed and her gaze slowly travelling towards the den as if following something. His brow furrowed in confusion but he didn't say anything. He just watched as she mentioned Sauda, then looked up towards the sky himself, as if trying to find what she was talking about. What he would give to talk to Sauda once again, even if it was just to say thanks, for everything.
Lunar and Soledad
The black fea couldn't help but feel like she was intruding on something when the two wolves showed signs of saddness over the lost wolf. The new mother gave a grateful smile at the white wolfess's words. "Thank you, Liseli. I shall never forget your words, nor will I let them forget that she will be forever watching over them." The wolfess felt much gratitude and relief at Liseli's words.
Soledad nodded in agreement with his mate, though he seemed to have missed the connection Lunar had gotten.
Lunar gave a brighter smile as Naiya nuzzled against her leg. She licked his head tenderly. "This is Naiya, the sole male in the bunch." She moved her nose to the other black puppy. "This is Lihas, and her sister, Dogo." She gave the tan puppy a gentle lick.
Lunar and Soledad
It had been a few weeks and the puppies were old enough to come out of the den. So, Lunar decided she would take them to see the rest of the pack.
The puppies were excited, their little tails wagging furiously. The black female, with the help of her tan mate, led the puppies to the main grounds of the pack.
