Sauda

Ebony huntress enters the Aspen grove TT, seeking a pack. She is a social creature, and is lonely all by herself. She lets out a howl, a cry to a pack. The cry runs for several minutes and then starts again, leading any and all in the range of her haunting song to her.

K.apu



K.apu had returned from the hunt slightly after Fell. he had allowed the male to hunt by himself. K.apu had gotten busy looking for moose. he hadn't found any himself, so had returned. and that's when he heard the howl. growling, K.apu galloped toward the intruder. she was on their land without permission! it didn't matter that she was a female and not a threat to his position. K.apu soon came upon the intruder, and growled warningly. all of his body language - the high head and tail, the narrowed eyes, the rumbling chest, the stiff-legged walk - told Sauda to submit. immediately.

Sauda

Ebony female flopped to her belly, ears pinned back in submission, and just a twinge of fear, though she did not let the fear show. This was a powerful male, she could tell. Well-muscled, belly full of the meat of his own hunting, it was clear. Whimpering in further submission, for she had little pride, she awaited his response, poised to leave if things got ugly.

Ka.pu


K.apu hadn't meant to get so aggressive. he hadn't had the best of days today. maybe he would have thought about it, but he didn't want to relive the annoyance of it all. so instead, K.apu backed up. his aggression calmed quickly, and he spoke. "I'm Kapu, alpha male of the Aspen Grove. sorry if I frightened you. I wasn't in the greatest of moods." K.apu was surprised at how casual he was after what had just happened. by God, he needed to stop taking everything as a threat. the male's tail wagged slightly as an apology and a greeting. he would wait for Umay before he told her whether or not she was accepted.

Sauda

As the large male backed off, she was more comfortable. "Apology unnecessary. I know what it is to have a bad day." She considered him for a moment, allowing her banner to wave a little in response to his. "I am Sauda, the dark beauty."

Umay

The alpha female came loping across the ground, leaving her large prints in the melting snow. Scent told her Kapu was at the scene already, so Umay hadn't been too hasty to get there. Upon reaching the two, the wolf's stature rose as her ruff expanded to increase her size.

Her almond eyes stared straight at Sauda in a clear declaration of her authority, but there was no malice about it. Umay just knew that females could be more of a problem, and being the alpha fae, she was determined to resolve as many of the problems as she could before they ever got started. "I'm Umay." she stated, having come in time to hear Sauda give her name.

Sauda

Ebony huntress bowed to alphess, ears flattening in submission. This female was asserting her authority, watching for trouble, but with less aggression than the male. Now she was infinitely more at ease. They were so unlike her last pack. Shaking her head to clear it of unwanted memories, she spoke respectfully and clearly. "I am new come to these lands and seek the security of a pack. I'll be no trouble. I haven't the personality for it. But I am a strong fighter and ready and willing to defend those who would take me in." She was intensly loyal, and she allowed the pride of it to shine in her eyes, though she did not rest those eyes on the alphess, but on the snow. Anger flashed as she remembered the betrayal of her former pack. "But woe be to the one who crosses those I care for." She bowed her head again, awaiting the alphess's answer.

Umay

She was pleased with these words and Sauda's ungruding and quick submission. Her dominating position eased up just slightly and her eyes softened, yet still retained the look to show her rank and expectations of others to respect her. "You are welcome to the pack, Sauda." Umay said at last, using her name so the short sentence would hold meaning. "There are two betas, Xania and Fell, who have a new litter of pups." The alpha went to explain. She hadn't seen the pups yet, but scent told her they were there.

Sauda

Pups! How Sauda loved pups. They reminded her that new life always made things begin anew, with new hope. The darkness in her heart was beaten back at the thought. "Pups, you say. How nice to come here upon such a joyous occasion. I have never had pups of my own, but then I've never had a mate, so... there you go. My congratulations to the parents, and to you as alphas upon expanding the pack." She smiled and bowed again, though the words came to her without thought. In the back she came from, these were merely the traditional words to greet new life. Still, she was pleased about the pups, and becoming one with the pack.
