sativa
Her white coat didn't blend with anything, especially at this dark hour - the silver moonlight reflecting brightly off of her milky fur as she jogged under the night sky. The wolf let her fiery yellow eyes dart form one end of her peripherals to the other; her ears scrutinizing the sounds around her, breaking them down, owl, fox, wind, my breathing...
Her head twirled and perked in every direction, each broken twig sent chills down her spine - she'd stepped over some border somewhere and now it was far to late to just turn back, or so the cautious white dog thought so. Her posture sank, hers flattening and head lowering, her shoulders jutting out from her vertebrae like a lioness stalking her pray. She crept forward only a couple feet before letting her body lay down, bracing her body for an attack or to flee, otherwise waiting patiently for someone to come find the stranger that has crossed into their home.
Iariadie & Recon
Like two wraiths, the pair of wolves swept through the woods with with the ease and grace of ones who knew the land by heart. And in the filtered darkness, with only the moon's pale light to cast faint glimmers of light through the dense canopy, their light gray coats made it easier for them to blend in, particularly with the patches of black that streaked randomly through Iari's fur.
"Wait..." Recon slowed to an abrupt halt, nose twitching and tall ears angled to the side. Iari stopped and mimicked his son's actions, sniffing intently at the air while quirking his blue eyes to the other in a silent question, What is it?. At length, Recon began moving forward again and uttered a quiet response under his breath, "We've got company. A female, I think." He could smell Sativa, who'd stopped and laid down before he had the chance to spot her yet, but they were very close to her. With a nod of his head, Recon led his father forward, both on high alert. "Who's there?"

They were like ghosts, floating across the mossy forest floor with nothing more than a pin-prick touch of their worn pads - viciously gobbling the safe distance that was once between the pair of grays and Sativa.
The white wolf's heart began to pound, she could hear her pulse booming in her thin, sensitive ears. Her lips twitched with anxiety as she slowly lifted her head from the ground.
...a female, i think..
His voice was deep and primal, she could smell his overwhelming masculinity (which she would later find out that there were in fact TWO males), her skin shivered.
They came closer, and closer, the flash of pale silver fur raced through a small break in the long dark wood trunks. Submissively, almost pathetically, she surrendered her belly upright before the first male crept forward..
Who's there?
His voice dribbled above her, she could almost feel it inside of her, her eyes shut tightly and she let a whimper escape her black silky lips. “I am..” Her voice was so soft it was barely audible, her paws trembled as she flopped onto her side, her ribcage prominent along her thin shaggy fur; her tail tucked tightly between her thighs.
Iariadie & Recon
From graceful strides and gliding steps, the pair's gait had changed into something more tense and cautiously slow. Their paws stepped gingerly over the soft ground, trying to make their approach as soundless as possible, until they could determine whether this stranger was a foe or otherwise. Working together, and being on their own turf, their uncertainty was nothing compared to that which Sativa was feeling, and rightfully so.
Both stopped again when a distinctly feminine voice greeted them, confirming Recon's previous suggestion that it was a she-wolf in their territory. That brought some ease to both wolves, and when they eventually landed their eyes on the submissive girl, the last notes of caution slipped from their postures and voices. Recon was once more the first one to act and speak, stepping briskly forward, "Who are you?" In a rather unnerving manner, he stalked in a circle around Sativa, both in order to give her a look over, and to assert his authority in this situation with his stiff-legged walk and raised hackles.
Meanwhile, Iari remained back a few feet, observing the interaction with a calmer air. His son might feel the need to go on an ego trip and take advantage of the fact that this female was clearly frightened, but he felt comfortable enough to handle things more diplomatically. "Alright Recon, enough. She's not a threat to us." His stern voice and a pointed look convinced Recon to back off, enough at least to give Sativa some space. "You've crossed into the Aspen Grove territory, Stranger." The slightly older wolf went on, now stepping forward and carrying a posture that was a little more inviting, "What's your name?"

Eve's body shook more vigorously as the younger male approached - those wide yellow eyes shut tightly, everything went black she could feel his breath against her ruffled cream colored fur.
Who are you! One voice boasted outwardly, booming through her delicate hearing like a siren inside her head. Her radiant honey eyes fluttered open, her long black lashes and dark skin surrounding her glassy pupils, accenting their sunshine color against the bright pearly light.
She went to speak, but nothing came out of her throat, only a flat whine sound as she slowly sat up to a hunched over sitting position, her head low and ears flat. This examining male was getting far too overwhelming, he needed to be done away with; Sativa's lips lifted to insecurely display her clean, fresh sharp teeth.
"Sativa.." She murmured shyly, only to answer their second demand for an identity. Aspen Grove..
Sativa's ears lifted, her body staying hunched submissive, but her glass-glow eyes met with the more reserved male's commanding expression. She said nothing, but the question of acceptance or decline was clearly implied.
sylar
Her arrival was not long after that of Recon and his father. Her presence had gone unnoticed, with the attentions of the other three wolves fixed on each other, and Sylar intended to keep it that way until she had judged this stranger from the small thicket she stood in. The silence swirled over the alpha female, as she patiently waited for the unnerved young she-wolf to give her name. Sativa was almost the mirror image of Sylar, who in turn had been the mirror image of her father; the shimmering white coat and bright amber eyes enhancing the silver glow of the moon that covered the Aspen Grove land.
It was then that Sylar moved from the thicket, approaching gracefully, emitting a calm authority, but somehow also giving off an air of warmth and tenderness to the clearly frightened young wolfess. After giving a thankful glance to Iariadie and Recon, Sylar noticed the thin stature of Sativa, and felt sorry for her. It was here the difference between their builds was shown, where Sativa's bones were visible, Sylar was tall and well-built, maintaining elegance while having the definate build of an alphess.
"Sativa, welcome. My name is Sylar, I am the alpha female of Aspen Grove. You are welcome to become a part of the pack if you wish it?"
Iariadie & Recon
All of Recon's fine bravado was further squelched when his alphess stepped out from the thicket where she'd been observing the interaction. Immediately, the pale gray wolf lowered his head and dropped the raised fur, letting body language alone speak of the ranks around here - it was Sylar who was in charge. "We found her a few moments ago." He explained with a glance to their leader.
Iariadie remained were he was now, being a second calming essence in the mix, where Sativa was frightened and fearful, and his soon to gusto and dominating. "Your addition to this pack would be welcome." Though Sylar had already said as much, Iari backed her words with light ones of his own, hoping to smooth over some of the intimidation that the stranger had faced up until this point.
