Hunter
It was cold outside, the baby was sleeping, and Hunter was all alone. She held a cup of coffee in her hands, all curled up in her bathrobe as she sat on the front porch steps her eyes watching the wildlife. Dimitri would panic when he saw her, but she just wanted a moment of peace, a moment of quiet. A moment where she could forget that she was sick. The doctors had done all sorts of testing and could find nothing in her system. The drug hadn't affected baby Shaine, but it was doing a number on Hunters immune system. It was slowly shutting down, and every now and then she felt as though her muscles were on fire. She tried to keep it hidden from Dimitri whenever she was in pain, walking out of the room or smiling and biting her lower lip. Dimitri didn't know. And he wasn't going to find out.
So here she sat, all alone in the cool spring morning, her eyes still heavy with sleep and her coffee steaming into the cool morning air.
Dimitri
Dimitri was worried about Hunter. He knew something wasn't right. He knew somebody did this to her. Maybe he was just paranoid. Or worse, maybe he wasn't.
What he did know that once Damian found out about Shaine, he'd come for his granddaughter. So Dimitri had been patrolling the borders, leaving Hunter alone while he made sure nobody was keeping an eye on them.
He returned to the house, Kodiak and Zarya following him. He leaned his rifle against the side of the house and sat beside Hunter. He sighed, looking off at the distance before he spoke to Hunter. "You know I'm not going to give it up until you tell me who did this to you, right?" He said calmly, though Hunter could probably tell that he was worried.
Hunter
Her eyes lifted up to his and she gave him the saddest smile. I don't know who did it, Dimitri... If I did, I promise I would tell you. She coughed, and she sounded so miserable and so sick. She took a sip of her coffee, trying to disguise it. I had coffee with Jaiden, came home... Stole the hummer... Went into labor...
Dimitri
Dimitri looked nervously at Hunter, nodding vaguely as she replied. It was her last words that made his eyes widen. "Who's Jaiden?" If this Jaiden hurt Hunter, Dimitri would kill him. But first he'd make him suffer. Turn the tables and turn the hunter into the hunted. He was the big bad wolf and he would blow this bastard's house down. He was an expert at making things explode.
Hunter
She lifted those ancient blue eyes up to his. Jaiden? Some guy I met at the cafe that day. You can't miss him. He has bleach blond hair, sort of Asian looking... She gave a faint smile. But I'm sure it wasn't him baby. He doesn't know me, he doesn't know you... It's probably just some big fluke that I met him on that day.
Dimitri
Dimitri's expression changed. He'd shred Jaiden to pieces and smash his bones. Then he'd kill him. Without a word, Dimitri went into the house and grabbed a flare gun. He got a safe distance from Hunter and fired the flare into the sky. Within a few moments, a large fishing vessel began to turn toward the island.
Dimitri walked back to the house. "My father will be here soon. My real father, not that son of a bitch Damian." Konstantin took him in at age seven, when he ran away from his biological father. Konstantin was his real father. "I have something I need to do. Something...important. Stay at the house, alright? I'll leave as soon as Konstantin arrives, and then I'll be back as son as it's over."
Hunter
Her eyes searched his and she gave a sigh. Dimitri... Don't do anything... Insane, alright? I'm sure it wasn't Jaiden who did anything. I probably was poisened by... That gang, or Damien or something. She knew there was no changing his mind and she gave another sigh, taking a sip of her coffee and dropping her eyes to hide the tears from him.
Dimitri
Dimitri felt that he was hurting Hunter, but something pushed him to seek revenge. He didn't want to hurt anybody, but...he had to. It was who he was. It was who Damian made him.
The fishing vessel - the Del'fin - stopped in the private dock that was recently built near the house. Konstantin climbed down from the boat and approached his adopted son. "Why have you called me?" He asked.
Dimitri looked at his father, knowing that if he told him the truth, he'd probably be in big trouble. 'Don't get the family into any more trouble,' he says. 'Let me handle it,' he says. Dimitri could handle it...kind of. "Nothing. I just need to go...do something. It's important." Well, it wasn't exactly a lie.
Konstantin looked suspiciously at Dimitri. He had a feeling he'd have to cover for his son again. Oh well. Nothing he couldn't handle. "Alright, well hurry up." He said simply, walking into the house.
Dimitri waited until Konstantin was inside the house and out of earshot before he knelt beside Hunter. "I know. I'll be back soon. Don't worry about it." With that, he kissed her, grabbed his rifle and walked away. He felt bad leaving her and Shaine behind here, but Konstantin was here and he'd take good care of them. Besides, Damian wasn't dumb enough or brave enough to go against Konstantin.
Kodiak and Zarya sat down beside Hunter, watching Dimitri leave.
Nadezhda
Nadezhda was nearby. She watched Dimitri leave silently before going to the porch. She lay down eyes watchful.
Samantha and Jenny were laying on the ground togather. They were talking about the old days when Angela cared for them.
Safara was patroling the grounds nearby with her siblings. So far nothing was out of order. Soon they returned to where the others were at the house.
[Hunter]
Hunter held out her hand to the hybrid. Aren't you a pretty little thing? She murmured softly to Nadezhda. She hadn't seen the hybrid around, and was curious to see if there was a color buried beneath her fur.
Syxx made his way around the property carefully. There were many other dogs here now and he had to be much more careful. For weeks he hadn't see Eden around, and it was beginning to panic the wolf. Where was his Eden? Who would know that he existed now? No, he did not want the companionment of the wolves and dogs here, and he took great pains to remain undetected by them. He did, however, want Eden back. Where was she?!
Nadezhda
Nadezhda stared up at Hunter with her mismatched green and blue orbs. Hunter would find only white and black in her fur there was no other color buried in her fur. Her long and smooth tail began to wag, but it soon stopped as she caught a new smell. It was so faint she couldn't even be sure. Sniffing the air she jumped off the porch heading to where she thought the smell was. Was there somone out there? Not sure Nadezhda breathed deeper trying to find a stronger scent.
Samantha and the others remained around the house watchful for any intruder.
