Dimitri Volkov
It was over. Damian was gone. A great danger had been taken from his life, yet he felt somewhat empty. He didn't know how he was supposed to feel. For the first seven years of Dimitri's life, Damian had fully dominated him to the point of submission and bitter respect. Even when he went to live with the Volkovs - whom he considers his true family - Damian still had a grasp on the boy as he grew into the young man he was today. And the sadistic bastard had changed him. He was resentful, paranoid, always seeking revenge even for things that need not be avenged. He wasn't a monster, but he was coming pretty close to it.
He sat on the couch with his eyes half open, a nearly empty bottle of vodka in his hand. He was almost unaware of his surroundings; he didn't know where Hunter or Shaine were. As far as he knew, in his dazed state, he was all alone. He remained silent for a long time, but suddenly spoke up in a low voice. "Damn it all." It was all he said before he took another drink of vodka.
